  • Love the raw feel of that video - not bad for mid-80s.

  • Whoever made them make these videos wants shooting...this music, just like the modern stuff, didn't need promoting in this way. You can see that they don't seem natural at doing it...like they weren't comfortable doing it.

I love Grace Under Pressure Live though...its what got me into Rush 25 years ago!

  • I had a Commodore 64 and I love Rush. Ergo: I love "The Enemy Within."

  • I'm not giving up on impossible dreams, experience to extremes... Love the lyrics of Neal Peart.

  • Thats what I call music!!:)

  • @zackjp Wow, life changing, thanks for sharing

  • this video would be better if they put the tarantula on alex's face

  • The music is MILES better than the actual music video...it seems really low budget lol

  • Anyone ever notice that Lerxst and Dirk have central heterochromatic at 1:19 and 2:19 look around the pupils of their eye it's a different color then the overall color of their eye

  • inresante lyrics mean something to us for our present.

  • Great song by an awesome band. Rush lit the fire under Dream Theater's arse. Just ask 'em.

  • Geddy looks like a old lady in this clip LOL.

Still the best bassist/singer out there.

  • this is one of my favorite songs by them i really hope i can see them play this live just once

  • Ok, ok. Your words mean: "More records sold more quality"... aha.

Go and listen your reggaetton records.

We're ok without absurd comparisons OUT of context. Rush is unique thus just 41 million records sold!

  • このころのPVって凝ってたよなー。。

  • @kurijaco Que dijo?

  • Damn..The Police are INCREDIBLE! If it weren't for them, we may not even have this song...

  • Rush has mentioned many times their love of the Police. The Police rule. Rush rules even more.

  • I like Rush AND The Police, I feel people who bash bands unfairly are a bit ignorant

  • @Nchubbz My old ass has taken a beating of late regarding Korn, and? Tired I remain over-analyzing and rehashing things. Oh and then the POlice. Sting, yes, and?

  • This was the first music video to be aired on Much Music (Canadian MTV). It is now alongside Video Killed the radio star for being first on music video aired on the respective stations. Now no matter what crap the stations play these days, The enemy within will always be first and will always be remembered. WOOHOO

  • this is way too regae for me.

  • @bluemeany Can you spare a hit of that acid you're taking?

  • No argument,Rush and Police both excellent bands from the eighties!

  • that robot in the beggining is the robot from the MV to the body electric!

  • the police have good basslines

  • grace under pressure is a diamond in the ruff i think this album far surpasses signals but thats my opinion i love this album

  • I am a huge fan of Rush and the the Police.

  • I CAN SEE THAT

  • BY far da best canadian band. the true meaning of intelligence and progresive music. neil peart is sitting on top of his game and lee is one of da best voices in rock and his lyircs r intelligent and meaningful.. to conclude i must say GREAT CANADIAN BAND.

  • Rush should perform all 4 parts of "Fear" - "The Enemy Within", "The Weapon", "Witch Hunt" and "Fear" on their next tour! would be epic

  • @Nattysevenfold666 the fourth part is called "Freeze" not "Fear" it's off Vapor Trails :)

  • @vidman520 ah yeah, that's what i meant haha :)

  • @Nattysevenfold666 dude part 4 is not called "fear" its "freeze" on the vapor trails album

  • @Nattysevenfold666

Agreed. And, that is how I have them on my computer playlist. Along with Xanadu that would RULE.

  • @Nattysevenfold666 don't you mean "Freeze"?

  • @Nattysevenfold666 part 4 is called "freeze," not "fear."

  • rush is the greatest band ever

  • maldita sea por q no me puedo sacar a RUSH ni de la cabeza ni del corazon????????

  • For sure the best band from my country, makes up for those fags from nickelback.

  • Does anyone know if this is just a video for the enemy within / the body electric or is it a full film ?

  • Neil peart's shirt is cool and funny in this video

  • geddy's eye colour is the same as mine exept mine have an weird orange/brown circle around the pupil

but on a less creepy note this is the reason why I bought grace under pressure

  • WAT A SONG:

  • WOw, Rush in the 80's doing song EMO/Electro Clash songs l.o.l.

  • Hey Police fans... Sting did not invent Ska music.

  • Everyone loves ya Geddy! And just so ya know dinglenutzz, not all 'kids now-a days' listen to shitty music, Fates Warning, Rush, Ozzy, Dream Theater, and Black Sabbath are some of my all time favourites and I'm 14 so don't lump all kids in the same group. Rush fans rock on!!! ^-^

  • @12remmy12 you rock dude! all those bands are great! especially fates warning [;

  • One of Rush's all-time greatest songs, bar none. Definitely the coolest "groove" they ever come up with. Long live Canadian prog-rock reggae!

  • Regardless of the pristine musicality, prestigious and thought-provoking lyrics, and god-like musicianship (What did you expect? It's Rush.), this is one of the coolest music videos in the history of music television.

  • There is a lot to be learned from Rush.

  • Comment removed

  • I like this video but ... what the fuck is with Neil's shirt?! It's like a girl's ... XD

  • hey some asshole missed the like button, but it's okay man, we forgive you

  • Am i the only one who loves how the videos on rush's albums are like alll the same for the album. like how this one there like in space and junk and in movin pictures there all just recording the song

  • Experience to extremes

  • All you Rush fans dissin The Police need to be spanked. First of all Rush fans we dont knock other bands especially other three piece setups. Secondly Stuart Copeland is an amazing drummer Henry P is awesome on Guitar and Sting is well Sting. Actually he does have some nice bass grooves leaning towards reggae and Carribean timings. There no Rush we know that, but at least there was originality and it was'nt regurgitated shit like what the kids have now-a-days.

    Respect to The Police

    lates

  • @dinglenutzz Rush was and is will always be my favorite band. The Police are my second favorite band. They are awesome MUSICIANS in their own right. Just a different style, but geniuses as well.

  • @dinglenutzz How could anyone, let alone a Rush fan, dislike The Police? Aside from the "trio" aspect of the makeup of the band, The Police were incredibly progressive when they were active, had narrative lyrics that were thick with imagery and emotion, and were incredible musicians. What Rush fan would look at The Police and then look away? It's a musical anomaly that simply cannot and will never be solved. Come to think of it, wouldn't it be absolutely awesome to see The Police open for Rush?

  • @dinglenutzz Actually songs like, "Vital Signs", "Losing It", parts of "Spirit of Radio", "The Analog Kid", "Chemistry", "Afterimage", and many other great songs of Rush's '80's era were indeed influenced by The Police and raggae.

  • @dinglenutzz

Rush influenced the Police somewhat, and Police definitley had an influence on the players of Rush in the 80's. It's documented. The good thing is even big fancy Rush has an open mind and is influenced by namy thing and even up and commers', although now aday's that seem less and less likely. I think the boys in Rush are better actors though lol!

  • @dinglenutzz not to mention Rush are big fans of the Police too.

  • @dinglenutzz The Police actually influenced them in their earlie 80's work

  • @dinglenutzz I can't imagine RUSH fans dissin' any other artist's. I missed the comment you are replying to. As far as to go, The Police are musical genius in their own right and I agree with you. If you are a RUSH fan then you are a music fan and all music is valid. Besides once your in love with the best band ever to walk the planet out of respect you must love all music. But The Police are great too....

  • @dinglenutzz I'm a fan of RUSH and The police.

  • @dinglenutzz Police sucked on their reunion tour. Thats the only part about police thats bad

  • @dinglenutzz According to Wikipedia Henry P played with the Police for 8 months so why mention him and not Andy Summers? It also mentions that Henry P was not a very good guitarist so why all the thumbs up?

  • Comment removed

  • @dinglenutzz That and there would be a COMPLETELY different Rush if The Police werent around..

  • @dinglenutzz - The line-up of The Police was Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers. There was a different guitarist at the very beginning, but he was replaced. Andy Summers is a legend. I would also suggest that you don't diss contemporary music. Just because you don't have what it takes to find good music, doesn't mean it's not there. It's pretty easy to just sit back and listen to the classic rock station. That's fine, but there's more to life than that, especially for young people.

  • @dinglenutzz I totally agree with you, the only thing I have against the police is something thats not even their fault. The fact that YYZ lost to Behind My Camel for best Instrumental grammy in 1980, Thats not ven their fault though.

  • @dinglenutzz Rush even admitted being fans of new wave and The Police in the 80's and claimed that some of the sound off of Permanent Waves was inspired by The Police

just goes to show ya! i love both bands to death.

  • @dinglenutzz Ok ok The Police was an 80´s band with some success and... Rush is the best band in history so.... waht´s the point? Any comparison is out of context

  • @camilintgomery Now while Rush is one of my favorite bands also, don't treat The Police as passe..........

Rush has sold 41 million records worldwide, while The Police as sold 50 million. Pretty good for "an 80's band with some success" , wouldn't you say? This is completely IN context, and besides........don't knock The Police, RUSH won't.

  • @dinglenutzz i agree popular music of my generation(the current one) is about partying and about bitches

rush actully has meaning to there songs beyond being an Etard and banging

  • @dinglenutzz

I agree with you about the Police, but I'll knock whatever bands I feel like (especially Creed, haha).

  • @dinglenutzz 100% Agree! I love Rush, they are my favorite band of all-time but The Police are fucking awesome. Different but totally awesome. One of the other few unique acts out there.

  • 2:53... geddy is so awesome he can play eighth notes with only his left hand!

  • I think GUP had the most "official" music videos of any other Rush album. Am I right? It just seems like it to me.

  • I think music is something you either like or dislike. but I would say RUSH tends to draw a more sophisticated crowd. I do still think the guy who said " I fucking love RUSH" said it all

  • those idiots who pressed the dislike button! oh wait...

  • probably my favorite tune from grace under pressure

  • @fan40 yeah thats a great attitude - are you 9?

  • Does anyone else also see in this video a resemblance of Geddy with Keith Richards? Very funny!

  • love this track not a great rush fan but this is awesome track well done for posting

  • I haven't given up on my implausible dreams . . . I've achieved some of them . . . and still working on the rest . . . I'm not dead yet! Rock on! Love life it can be an adventure!

  • rush sempre banda fantastica eles fazem parte da minha historia musical a muitos anos valeu rush

  • great music

  • I'm not giving in to security under pressure

I'm not missing out on the promise of adventure

I'm not giving up on implausible dreams

    Experience to extremes

  • @Trimixtech: Implausible dreams.

  • fuckin' A right fan40-youspeak bibles of truth-Rush is the means to the end!

  • @fan40 funny thing is,many people don't like rush- My experience tells me you either love them or hate them.- i love em-

  • @gumbyonacid Me too. Absolutes I see.

  • GODS!!!!

  • geddy lee's eyes are the same colour as mine ... weird

  • my Mom hates rush :(

  • @khunopie kill her

  • @ZDawg09 that would be evil. Geddy doesnt promote evil

  • @khunopie fair enough. but seriously. it is a physical impossibility to hate Rush. even if you think you hate Rush, they will have written a song that you will like.

  • @khunopie Well, if it makes you feel somewhat better, I'm a mom and I LOVE Rush, and whenever I can I play their CDs to my teenage children. :)

  • Now I know why fans didn't like this Rush era..it was too ahead of their time....

  • 0:04

    pretty eye :)

  • @holycrapitsalex2112 ironically my eye is the same color

  • "Experience to extremes... experience two extremes."

    "not exactly" freedom.

  • Could this be where Porcupine Tree got the idea of the "Stupid Dream" album cover from?

  • IF YOU LOVE RUSH FRIEND ME!

  • Now Geddy used a Steinberger throughout Grace Under Pressure

But here he is with his old Rickenbacker.... Why do music videos have to mess with my head and Rush nerdiness?

  • 100 likes and 0 dislikes.

    KEEP IT UP!

  • 3:30-3:51 wth

  • 330-351 wth

  • GENIAL CANCIÓN DE RUSH!!

  • these guys rule ,, wish new bands would play stuff like this

  • @xEn0pH0Be1 ya me too. and now its just about fuckin hip-hop

  • The Police should be thankful to be mentioned in the same breath as Rush.

    Do-do-do Da-da-da? Give me a friggin' break.

    RUSH HAS NO PEER.

  • @Armando2012102 i remember that song when i was 3 so i like the police and rush rush alot more but still

  • @Armando2012102 I was a police fan long before i was a rush fan. then i heard rush. and i have to agree

  • @angrylemonvideos: Yeah, man. I didn't mean to diss The Police (they were pretty damn good), but the comparison is unwarranted 'cause Rush is in a different league altogether.

    RUSH HAS NO PEER

  • @Armando2012102

Yea, I wonder if "I think I'm going bald" is a great piece of artwork for Rush. Makes Do-do-do Da-da-da look like a masterpiece.

Police are a great band, much like Rush.

  • @Armando2012102 Yes, but the POlice had their place. I agree Rush has no peer. I loved them, but not in the same manner. Police and Rush in the same breath? You are correct, but then again difficult it is to compare the 1 to anyone else?

  • 75 people have a brains when it comes to music.

  • I like how this song makes u wanna move around every time u hear it

  • Rush is such a thrilling band, and it's lucky for us Police fans that they honored our fave band to such wonderful effect. "Spirits In The Material World" is very present here, even in Geddy's dancing replica of Sting at the end. Just a shared heaven.

  • i love rush and p/g, next to Moving Pictures, is my favorite Rush album! partly because of this song, what a groove!

  • Stupid, STUPID video but a really good song with an exceptionally good bass lick.

  • @BillF1967 what are you talking about? this video is awesome cheesy 80s! rush pulled the trend off in every decade!

  • @PeeceSells wanna talk bout cheesy rush videos then u got to put in time stand still

  • @GeneralSalas so true or distant early warning xD

  • @GeneralSalas Yes, Rush has some terrible videos, but great music. I think Subdivisions is one of the good videos.

  • @BillF1967 - talk about stupid - music has NOTHING to do with videos

  • @1bill57 Which was my point, was it not? A video's quality doesn't reflect on the quality of the song?

  • @1bill57 Never said it did. Please tell me where you think I said it did?

  • @BillF1967 - i didnt say you did say that - just wondered why the subject came up - no prob - rush rocks

  • @1bill57 Indeed they do, my good man, indeed they do. Rock on.

  • Have they performed this song since the Grace Under Pressure tour?

  • even though i tuned out during there eighties keyboard phase i still love this song...and distant early warning...and subdivisions...and red sector A...and the body electric...fuck it i just love them

  • i love this song (and the drums)!!!!!

  • You can really hear Andy Summers' influence here, as you'll see Alex explain in the upcoming documentary! Stoked, as I got a lil' sneak peak!

  • @Jmurray5150 Yes you can. You can hear the Police influence in both Signals and Grace Under Pressure. Awesome song, one of my favourite Rush songs, especially the p/g DVD. They're really tight in that one.

  • I love prog Rock, incredible song.

  • always ahead of their time! Great stuff

  • The spider/enemy within that takes over the right eye has a symbol of V on it's monitors...

  • God damn, this song is so great! I can't get enough of it! It just has such an upbeat feel to it.. And it just ROCKS!

  • What a cool song, what a cool band. RUSH forever!!!!!

  • great lyrics and bass in this song

  • A great song from the Grace under Pressure album. This is definitely one of my favorites. 4 stars.

  • tks for the video

  • Geddys playing the Rick for I think the last time in this video

  • Wow, this video screams 1984.

All that's missing is Max Headroom...

  • Fantastic song though!

  • I have so many favorites by Rush it's hilarious just when i decide my favorite it changes. Rush rulez

  • My favourite Rush song

  • Not giving up on impossible dreams...

  • @Trimixtech er, "implausible," even... ;)
