its not barking, its an alarm. he is on watch, and is warning the other foxes to hide because there's something dangerous around. foxes make tons of different noises, but mostly chirping like birds.

@dkblazy hmm, from what the video shows it doesn't. I wasn't THERE physically so I'll take your word for it. Yes I've put down a coyote or two and MANY MANY feral cats that had mange. It wasn't to keep them from spreading it, it was to stop their slow death and suffer. yeah I do by the way...have a couple slim jim holsters made from mule deer raw hide. 8^)

Here them all the time in the hills surrounding the area here ! Almost always at night but it's a pretty populated area.

Only thing crazier {IMO !} are Raccoons when they start scrapping or just messing around during their travels at night !

I'm searching for fox calls, barks, howls, etc, because I got woken up last night by the howling noise of a fox. Although this was like no howl I've ever heard before. So great story... I have one of these live in the woods behind my house and about once every 2 weeks he would have one of these barking fits. Up until now I didn't know what the hell made them, so it scared the life outta me. I thought it was a bigger cat in heat the first time but now it's just a small fox. Quite a relief actually.
