You can see it turned and maintain consistent shape from 0:34 to 0:41 and it has the front of the label showed on the outer edge when it is flattened and the flat face when it is in regular form.

I think a bottle swap or materials trick is more likely.

Simple really good effect though, I guess the pre-flattened bottle is already concealed in the bag/cloak wherever.

My uncle does this with a salt shaker and a napkin because it keeps the shape of the object once the object is discarded.

actually, a glass is a super cooled fluid, that is, a glass is still liquid but it has so much viscosity that it appears solid. if you look at really old windows, i mean 100s of years old, then you will see that it has actually begun to flow, it is thicker at the bottom of the pane than the top etc. thus your first few statements in the video are false, however the bottle trick is still pretty cool.

The bottle is flat from start to finish, the way he shows it to the camera is from one angle, being that it is already flat he shows just the front. In the bag he keeps it at the same angle, and when he "crushes" the bottle, he just turns it to the side that's flat. Bam!
