The differences are that the note has a 1.4 ghz exynos cpu compared to the 1.2 on the S2. However I believe the American note has a 1.5 ghz qualcomm cpu which is the same as the skyrocket. The note also has a substantially larger battery and higher screen resolution.

thats not true, if you use white text on a black screen and turn wifi and 3g off u can read for a minimum of 10 hours - maybe even more, never tried more. Yesterday i read two hours in bed, watched a movie und used the internet and today i still have 67% battery...

What I worry about is I used my former mobile for 5 years and since 2004 Im using touchscreen PDAs most of them were HTC never had problm. Even when I take the SG2 I was disappointed with the things included in the box. I never had that few accessory with a PDA. When I watched unboxing of NOTE I couldnt believe my eyes cause samsung this time combined the data cable with the charger. All they care for is money nowadays. 6915 didnt change even a bit of colour after 5 years but sadly my S2 did :/

I have both these phones, One problem with the S2 is that in order to do MMS, the data packet needs to be selected (tick) so if you do not have a data plan watch out. Galaxy Note able to do MMS without data packet selected. Note will automatically select data packet for MMS temporarily and then switches it off without user intervention. I can't understand why S2 can't do it automatically.

I would only care for the screen size if I draw something or use tablet features. Reading is the last thing you would need that large size screen because while reading you just look at one line at a time. The lines you read or will read just waiting and consuming energy. Note will have its share in the market especially among certain professions like architects, fashion designers etc. but for an ordinary user its too big for mobile ( so that wasing more energy ) and too small for a tablet.

@aliihsanasl I hv both these phones, they are good phones. S2 hv a problem with MMS it need data to be selected on to work, but Note does not need that selection to be made.

On screen size, its basically depends on one preference, but having use the Note for about 2 months I don't think I'll switch to smaller screen.

@wheels2wheels I have GS2 bought it last september for 1100 $ former mobile was HP 6915 I always liked physical buttons but tecnology advancing in the opposite direction there are android mobiles with physical buttons but they have low cam quality. Anyway I used with case and protective film last week screen gone insane when I leave it on the table it was opening whatever on the screen passing to other pages etc. left to service last day they change the screen tomorrow they will give it.

Not all galaxy notes have screen issues but a lot of them do suffer from different manufacturing inconsistencies. If u dont see any defect on yours then its finw dont look for any.

The note has a higher resolution, hence such a big difference.

Try comparing with the Photon 4g. Its has a higher resolution compared to SGS2. You will have more text in the Photon 4g compared to the SGS2 even though the screen sizes are the same. Its the resolution that actually matters....

You dont see more on the note because it is bigger, you see more because the note has a higher res screen, allowing more pixels to fit on the screen, (ie, the more words being more pixels)
