This showed the actual footage of some other previous animes (i.e. CLAMP in Wonderland OVA) and showing more background history and action! This should be animated! Stunning, amazing, brilliant opening !! It even fucking showed infinity-arc in it and it has such cool scenes in total ! Bee Train has completely failed on the anime, that's all I can say. This opening would have been so cool !! the current 2nd opening of the anime sucks so much. Whatever the origin of this storyboard and whatever the reason it was not used, it definitely deserves to be animated. It goes well with this song, too.
I admit I was a little disappointed with the title sequence they used for season 2 as well. It was fun, but I would have preferred something more like this. However, I will say I liked the sequences when the characters were literally "shadow" boxing themselves.
I didn't finish watching the Tsubasa Chronicle episodes (lazy for watch, i already read the manga), but they should animate it, i love the fighting scenes <3
also, i think the TRC's OAD are better than the ''normal'' episodes, but it's pretty hard animate all the series DX
I really liked this ending! However, it has alot of action in it. It would suit the Tokyo Revelation opening much much better. The sequence gives (i think) to much information about where the series is headed. So i guess it could go either good or bad depending on your taste in how you think the season should of been introduced. But that looks awesome! :D
This is way more epic than the aired opening (which is good too), I think it was discarded because the anime does not count Infinity and Celes arcs, ...., what a pity :(, it would've been great, maybe for a seson three ^u^ (almost impossible dream,)
I really wonder how did you find these and who actually drew these storyboards? Was it someone from CLAMP or from the studio? Usually OP/EDs are drawn by someone in the studio, seldom by a mangaka themselves.
Though I disagree about the second opening being inferior to this. It's hard to tell from very rough pencil sketches but the second OP was pretty decent, though I think it could have used a better song.
@ShadowAlex It was drawn by CLAMP This storyboard was in the Tsubasa Character book 2 as one of the extras. I also think they used a different song, but it didn't say the name T^T
they did have the dragon part in the clamp in wonderland 2 opening! it was amazing. But i'm the same they should have done it from the start it would of looked well better! :)
the last syaoran parts were epic^^ that would've been awesome to see! but sadly, since the anime cut off the whole arc with clone syaoran waking up, i knew it wouldn't fit T_T if only...

i think this was sketched up by clamp themselfs, mokona looks small and it looks like the sketch up of the first chapter (thats in the Tsubasa Character Guide)

Actualy, I'm thinking this would be for like, the third season opening, if they were to ever make a third season. Mostly, I think so cuz od that last scene, it could depict the clone meeting his original self in Tokyo. I really wish CLAMP would authorize the making of a third season, I love this series so much.
I think they changed this, because of the "clone" theme beeing so much more emphasized after the acid tokyo arc, so they had to do a opening, that mirrors this.
Because at the end you see the Clone Syaoran and real Syaoran but in season 2 the real Syaoran was still trapped. Everthing after episode 42 is made up. Episode 43 should have been the beginning of Tokyo Revelations. So that's why they changed the opening, because the storyboard of this wouldn't fit with the season 2 that was made
You right, but still it won't interrupt anyone if they'll see the real Syao. The current OP suckes, for my opinion. Too bad, the original is far better and openes the mind more than the other one. I was inspired a lot from the oroginal since it shows such a great idea.

Well... It was copy right, and they'll release it in eng/jap sooner or later. Beisdes, most fan-subbers only sub anime so it can get to the US and if it does, then they ask everyone to stop distributing so as to support the actual anime itself. It can't be helped.
I had always thought this was originally supposed to be the season opening for season three, lol- but you're right, this goes well with ITS... though Fay looks a little young in that pic with Ashura, right? It's nice that someone posted this- I've been trying to convince people it was intended to be a season opening for a long time. There had been a season 3 scheduled, but then CLAMP took the rights away from BEE TRAIN, so I believe fully in that this was intended to be season 3's opening.
erm no - this was on what would s2 op would have looked like, but CLAMP lost the control over the s2 with Beetrain refusing to do any changes CLAMP wanted. SO this never left the storyboards and CLAMP used the scenes from this in covers for manga and Clamp in Wonderland 2. All of this just proves that CLAMP intended to use Tokyo to end season2
Beetrain did NOT want to do S3 too because of their "no bloodshed" policy. SO it was not even scheduled It was never announced.
Because s1 and s2 were still made by Beetrain. So if any studio would try to make a DIRECT continuation of the second season, it would be a copyright infringement, as that studio "technically" would be claiming it as their own work.
So IG can either go and redo entire series, or continue with OVA releases after Tokyo Revelations
That makes no sense: That's like saying Pokemon USA would sue Nintendo if they use a Pikachu in one of their console commercials. If I.G. is a parent company of BeeTrain, then obviously there shouldn't be any problems in copyright.

Nope... It was just because animators felt high and mighty and thought there's no need to actually use anything CLAMP designed for s2 and so they went on with sugary fillers and lame op sequence...
I like this one better... the first time I saw Clamp in Wonderland 2, I thought the one part would work out better in the opening. The glamor shots and shadow-fighting in the actual opening gets kinda lethargic... even when I saw it the first time. This one would be WAY better.

This looks like it's art of the Infinity arc. At least the weapons they're using do, anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the anime stops before Infinity because of the violence. They weren't able to do it because they would have had to edit too much of it.
I think these are the scetches that Mokona (the CLAMP member) drew to show how she would have preferred the op. Of course, it looks way cooler (albeit spoilerific) than what made it to screen. Bee Train should have listened more to CLAMP instead of coming up with their own lame filler material. :x

I think they changed this, because of the "clone" theme beeing so much more emphasized after the acid tokyo arc, so they had to do a opening, that mirrors this.

This is the Original storyboard than CLAMP drawn. As you know Mad House has some problems with Clamp.

Because at the end you see the Clone Syaoran and real Syaoran but in season 2 the real Syaoran was still trapped. Everthing after episode 42 is made up. Episode 43 should have been the beginning of Tokyo Revelations. So that's why they changed the opening, because the storyboard of this wouldn't fit with the season 2 that was made

You right, but still it won't interrupt anyone if they'll see the real Syao. The current OP suckes, for my opinion. Too bad, the original is far better and openes the mind more than the other one. I was inspired a lot from the oroginal since it shows such a great idea.

actually, this was a storyboard drawed by CLAMP,this wasnte made by anyone of the studio.
This is based in the cover of one of the volunmenes from the manga...18 or something...cant remember...

Well... It was copy right, and they'll release it in eng/jap sooner or later. Beisdes, most fan-subbers only sub anime so it can get to the US and if it does, then they ask everyone to stop distributing so as to support the actual anime itself. It can't be helped.

I had always thought this was originally supposed to be the season opening for season three, lol- but you're right, this goes well with ITS... though Fay looks a little young in that pic with Ashura, right? It's nice that someone posted this- I've been trying to convince people it was intended to be a season opening for a long time. There had been a season 3 scheduled, but then CLAMP took the rights away from BEE TRAIN, so I believe fully in that this was intended to be season 3's opening.

erm no - this was on what would s2 op would have looked like, but CLAMP lost the control over the s2 with Beetrain refusing to do any changes CLAMP wanted. SO this never left the storyboards and CLAMP used the scenes from this in covers for manga and Clamp in Wonderland 2. All of this just proves that CLAMP intended to use Tokyo to end season2
Beetrain did NOT want to do S3 too because of their "no bloodshed" policy. SO it was not even scheduled It was never announced.

Because s1 and s2 were still made by Beetrain. So if any studio would try to make a DIRECT continuation of the second season, it would be a copyright infringement, as that studio "technically" would be claiming it as their own work.
So IG can either go and redo entire series, or continue with OVA releases after Tokyo Revelations

I.G is technically "parent company" to Beetrain. so thats not the same. They are still,in a sense different things.

That makes no sense: That's like saying Pokemon USA would sue Nintendo if they use a Pikachu in one of their console commercials. If I.G. is a parent company of BeeTrain, then obviously there shouldn't be any problems in copyright.

Nope... It was just because animators felt high and mighty and thought there's no need to actually use anything CLAMP designed for s2 and so they went on with sugary fillers and lame op sequence...

I like this one better... the first time I saw Clamp in Wonderland 2, I thought the one part would work out better in the opening. The glamor shots and shadow-fighting in the actual opening gets kinda lethargic... even when I saw it the first time. This one would be WAY better.

ese opening esta muy chido, aunque creo que la razon de que no lo pusieron es porque tiene mucha influencia del manga, lo cual da muchos "spoiler" a la animacion.
bueno, ya no tendremos mas animacion d tsubasa pork la NHK loc ancelo, pero por suerte estan los ovas "tokyo revelatons" XD.

This looks like it's art of the Infinity arc. At least the weapons they're using do, anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the anime stops before Infinity because of the violence. They weren't able to do it because they would have had to edit too much of it.

I think these are the scetches that Mokona (the CLAMP member) drew to show how she would have preferred the op. Of course, it looks way cooler (albeit spoilerific) than what made it to screen. Bee Train should have listened more to CLAMP instead of coming up with their own lame filler material. :x
