  • Suzanne is beautiful but her image and styling on this seem all wrong. Just look at her on `no cheap thrill` video to see just how good she can look.

  • No...Suzanne is forever. :)

  • damn suzanne is 50 now

  • best work! finally old enough to be taken seriously. a joy! video work is spot-on. MORE!!!

  • Brilliant song. I've been a fan of Suzanne's since 1987. I was lucky enough to see her on her world tour at the time in Phoenix, Arizona when I lived there. She is a constant marvel in her work and she is timeless in her songs and lyrics.

  • funny - i saw the tour in phx (99.9) - she is the best.....

pure vocaiist - all about the melody. . . .

everybody has to come back to it - simple but essential.

  • I just love her voice

  • Love love Suzanne, deep, real, she sings live just as good as any computer generation.

"Fancy poultry parts sold here breasts and thighs and heart, backs are cheap and wings are nearly free."

  • Why does this remind me of Paul Simon's mid-80's stuff, like Graceland? Anyone agree?

  • I never heard it before, but it has that sort of sing-songy shuffle and story telling immediacy that Graceland does. She is one of my favorite writers and singers.

  • yeah always loved suzy vega she rocks

and doesnt have to whore herself

  • No, but she'd be lucky to get 1/100th the airplay of bands like the pussycat dolls.

  • She should re release this it could become more popular than luka and toms diner put together

  • This is so true, not only of "last year's troubles" but also of "last year's triumphs". How easily we can romanticize them. Love Suzanne Vega's lyrics for this kind of substantive content.

  • Hell yeah..!I agree she`s still a darling alright!About time Taylor gave her a signature guitar!

  • Is that her brother's graffitti, I wonder? NICE!

  • Tremendous! Never heard this 1 B4. Suzanne's still hip, brilliant & eloquent, & w/ the catchiest, most pop-friendly hooks around. Sheez STILL GOT IT!! Still producing a variety of fresh compelling material that's wide-ranging but still uniquely Suzanne! She blows away Shawn Colvin, Lucy Kaplansky & all the rest. They're excellent & deserve major props, but who can hold a candle to the Etherial Girl, Miss Vega ?? She'll go down in History as one of the very, very best NO DOUBT! Rock On, Suzanne!

  • OMG, I LOVE Suzanne Vega! She's the best! I love this song as well! Thanks for posting!

  • While we're going through "last year's troubles" it may seem like the worst that could ever happen to us, but a year later we look back and realize it wasn't all that bad.

    Very good song :)

  • anyone ever watch dead like me? .. i always wondered who the mother in that show reminded me of.. now i know

  • classic .. last years troubles

  • Why she didnt do a career like Madonna or others?

  • you right, she has something it makes her a diva, she should have continue her carrier.

  • Cause she's always been TOO intelligent. A major in literature, you know.

  • Because she never danced seductively or paraded around half naked.

Sex sells. Beyonce,Rhianna,Britney and the rest of their ilk pale in comparison when it comes to sheer talent.

  • Saw her first in 85ish a couple times. She was good with a band and delightful solo acoustic.

Won tickets to see her tomorrow night. :-)

  • Mmh. Never seen her live.. But loved her music from the start..

  • Suzanne, the world is a better place for having you, your astute understanding and your ability to tell us about it.

  • Oh...and you used "Dickensian" in a song. I mean, seriously. That's just awesome.

  • I have never seen her "live" but I can imagine it must be a wonderful experience--thank goodness for YouTube and these postings to bring her music visually as a treat!--much appreciated & thank you,J for sharing it!-- xxx

  • Sorry to make you jealous, but I got to catch her performance at the Fillmore back in the summer of 2003 - she was terrific!

  • This is great, Love all of her stuff and have been lucky enough to see her 3 times here on the Isle of Wight. Thanks for posting it.

    J.

  • I love your voice. Bless you.

  • What wonderful music and lyrics! Interesting video that adds to the song, too. Everything she does is great.

  • keep on the good work suzzane, and come to Israel again, we miss you.

  • THANKS,SUZANNE

    BROWNRISK
