Hey Scotty, awesome lessons as always man. I'm just wondering if you teach different musical genres in the DVDs as well, like the blues, rock, jazz, metal, etc.?
Thanks for the positive feedback. We don't go into specific genres as you'll find that if you really know how music works, they're all much more similar than most folks think. We do have a couple of lessons specifically on BLUES as it does have some specific differences from Diatonic Harmony. Hard Rock and Metal are also often related to Blues.
@scottyxcom No problem on the positive feedback dude -- your lessons are really excellent. Just another quick question I have is just how deeply do you go into ear training in your lesson program? Do you have exercises and practice regimens on ear training similar to the way guitarists also exercise for speed?
Yes we do. I can't say we have TONS of specific ear training exercises. We just point you in the direction of creating your own regimen. A lot of it is about LISTENING to the various notes and patterns and then challenging your self to SING them and find them on your fret board.
@scottyxcom Hey Scotty, I just saved up a quarter of the money I need for the course. I just wanted to ask if the DVD lessons come with a menu or chapter selection of some sort, or are they basically just the "video lesson on disc"? I just find it a lot more convenient if there is a menu/chapter/feature select screen, instead of fast-forwarding to where I left off each time.
There are automatic chapter points every 5 minutes but we don't have a chapter menue so-to-speak. When we created these lessons 10 years ago, that technology barely existed and cost a lot of money. Creating chapters and menues is one of many improvments I hope to make to the course over the next few years. I'm so busy managing our existing business that I just haven't found the time. I don't think you'll find it too much of an inconvenience.
