I have one grey called Heidi. Greyhounds are so kind and fun-loving, they all deserve to have a warm and welcome home! Thumbs up if you agree please and thank you for posting this video! : )
I find it strange that everyone is mentioning about how Pia needs a coat yet no one has said anything about her not having anything on her feet.
I've had three retired racers - down to one now having put my 15+ year old down a couple months ago. There are times we would let them out without their coats but they were never allowed out without their sockies. spend thousands on custom made boots and they end up wearing winter baby sox - who knew?
I thought my last grey was like that with staying close to me...and then she ran after a car that was passing by. Looked just like my car, and thank god the woman stopped and caught her. Just saying....you think you are safe until that one day. I don't play with fire anymore.
Our Tyler loves the snow, but we don't usually get snow that deep in central Illinois. My wife talked me into adopting a retired racer. I wasn't sure about it, but now that we have had him since Sept. '09, I have never looked back! He is my best friend! You have a beautiful Grey too by the way!
This is our third Grey and the first to be trusted off leash. We got her when she was barely 2 and was able to work with her. Now she is far better at staying and listening than any other dog we ever had. Thanks!
I would be too scared to allow my sight hound off leash in an unfenced area. They would take off in an instant after the tiniest flutter of a cat, squirrel, or leaf.
Greyhounds love the water and snow - it's just that when they are working they are cosseted in dry conditions so they can race. Our beautiful greyhound, who recently passed away aged 12, enjoyed the sea and snow was the best in the world.
Very cute dog. It's funny because we have an italian greyhound and a greyhound and our IG hates the snow and the cold, but our greyhound just loves it! They are so similar but when it comes to the weather, they have different views on it. Like in thunderstorms, our big grey hates the thunder and our little IG doesn't care.
My greyhound Ladylou loves the snow too. Since she raced all her life in Tucson, Az. & Corpus Christie, Tex and we live up in the mts. of Az. we wondered how she would react. She loves it!
Wow, that is soo cute! I did't think they liked snow but now I see differently. All that work to clear a large area and he goes for the snow! Who knew?
What a happy doggy - look at that tail!!!! I love my greyhound. Love them all! Wonderful breed. Ours took over the sofa, much to the dismay of my hubby. He acts annoyed, but tolerates it, because he adores that sweet dog.
Amazing seeing a grey in the snow!! Living in South eastern Australia it is a rarity in our town. Our two would freak! They hate going out in the rain let alone freezing snow.. But oh what fun it looks...
aww haha my greyhound goes mental when she has (well should say had) her fleece it woz a red 1 and i put it on her and she ripped it of haha but she does like her coats nice video ;p
the first two greys we had were older and were runners. this one was two when we got her and was trainable in staying close without a lease. Thanks for the comment.
She has a coat, a pretty pink fleece one. That day it was very sunny and actually pretty warm outside, so she really didn't need a coat. Thanks for watching!
Oh i see, my partner and i have very recently adopted boss who is a retired racer and we have gone a bit mad making sure he gets what he needs, he is currently adjusting to new feed which is giving him loose stools...oh dear..
I have a little female ex-racer and she get's hot when she's active even though it's cold outside. With her coat on, she will go lay down in freezing cold water to cool off in winter. I grab her ears, if they are warm , she is warm and if they are cold she needs a coat. She LOVES snow too!
Your dog is not pure greyhound, correct?
TheImpossibleMan 14 hours ago
Yes, as far as we know she is pure breed... she came from a breeder and was let out for adoption since she didn't make the time trials.

Jupiter's Mommy, then you don't have your dog trained well enough.
I have a greyhound that goes out in my front yard everday, but knows not to cross over the sidewalk.
You just need to spend alot of time with them out in the woods to get them trained.

Is your yard fenced in?

when greyhounds are playing or running, they don`t need a coat, they warm up quickly. But it also depends on if dog loves snow or not.

I'm no critisisung you or anything but it might be better for your lovely greyhound if it had a dog coat in winter. Nice dog :)

Wonderful! Why play in the yard when the snow is miles deep beside the drive? (Soooo lucky you cleared it all so there wasn't any ice on the drive!).
