Why are you thinking of changing bikes? The SV1000 isn't so bad. It will be much more comfortable on the freeway than any 600. You need an iron butt to do 1000 miles in a day on a 600.

i dont suggest the R6 as a freeway bike. The 09 i rode had a really light front tire, an uncomfortable seating position, all the power is in very high rpms, and alot of vibrations in the bars. My favorite on the freeway is the CBR600rr(my new bike =) ) or the zx6r. I dunno, just my input, but then again you have been riding longer than i have =D

shock, i have a cbr600, power is not an issue on the freeway, they accelerate like no car would. Your RPMs will never be ridiculously high but it will be more noticeable than your sv1000

That lane splitting thing works great if you are on a sport bike but not so great on a big cruiser. I would bet all those people in cages were cussing you as you flew by them while they were sitting impatiently in lane waiting to go.
