True, this is a different type of competition. Lyoto Machida (UFC world champ) comes from this backround and he is a very complete striker. Hence; these movements make for a great sparring foundation. I agree with you that you can not carry only this method of fighting into full contact. You need much more but I think Aghayev could become a super full contact fighter if he would spar with contact and add some submission. His speed is beyond belief.

It's obvious you're a kid (16-18 I'd guess), so I'll be very simple for you- I can use empi and hiza geri (look up those words to know what I'm talking about) as effectively as any mui tai or UFC fighter. I can use any strike as effectively as a UFC fighter and I can use my Jui Jitsu (from Wado) as effective as UFC fighter.

I'd say this type of karate is as effective against kyokushin or other fighting styles if not more so.

This is a sport version of traditional Japanese karate. The rules for this type of competition are to prevent injury. Few would dare use some of these techniques in a real fight & I explained who I was to show the commonality of the various techniques of karate & how they're copied in other martial arts. Under these rules, a kyokushin fighter would get beat in 30 seconds.These guys control and score from distance, unlike kyokushinka who stand toe-to-toe & exchange blows. Yeah, real impressive.

Dude Your missing the big picture. the philosophy behind WKF lies intensely close to the spirit of true karate-do. YOu overcome your opponent without causing him malicious injury. This is true BU-Do spirit Not hurting some ones body or potentially killing them. Also Karate is supposed to be a tool to succeed in life. IF karate were to cause you physical damage then its a horrible tool dont you think?

I just trained with the AO fighter tonight and the only person that makes you look bad is yourself. These guys are fighting in the World champs, they are quality athletes as I can attest. What Im wondering is what teachers allow their students to develop such destructive attitudes. You rave about true Karate on YouTube and criticise World level athletes. But who are you and what have you done to develop Karate. Although you claim to be the epitome of true Karate (or at least closer than WKF champs) we find no videos of you, only criticisms. Who in the World of Karate knows your name? Who are you? If you are so accomplished why do you only dwell in the YouTube comments pages.

Massdojo, for your information I did compete in numerous WKF competitions including the Murata International in Mexico City which by the way I won Gold in Kumite. I have a Sandan in Renbukai Karate Do. By the way Renbukai is a full contact style and not WKF tap your it system.

Just because people don't wanna have brain damage or ears that look like mushrooms doesn't mean that their style doesnt measure up. and besides i know plenty of people who have gotten serious injuries from this kind of fighting including concussions and shattered cheek bones...
