  • nooo! the video gets stuck at 2:14 all the time...

  • this video just reminded me of this really cool glue stuff that i played with in middle school. it takes plastic and chemically binds them together making two pieces one piece. i forget what its called but is amazing.. maybe youve heard of it. I dunno

  • im pisitivly comment on the epicly positivley video of wich i luved to watch XD

  • JAIME!!! I want to live there too! You have TONS of land! You could be the President of that community dude!!! But I'd like to build underground...you know, protection from the sun's radiation?!? :D ♥Dig♥

  • @digsart I'd come to live there too!

  • Like the video Dude

  • soon you will have a clear garage door

  • ~*~positiveness~*~

Don't ever stop doing what you're doing. Ever.

Also i was wondering, how do you get the money to buy all the stuff you use?

  • Hey, You, Funny man who builds things. Marry me. We shall rue the day and punch baby kitten who dont like us. And if you are taken a simple adoption would work too.

  • I hate how attracted to you I am.

  • LOL

  • That's the most rigged ladder I've ever seen! Not even a close second comes to mind.

  • ok i got two sons 2 and 3

and they think your robot is great and cant wait for it to be completed

  • where the hell do you live

  • Wherever I want. Vermont at the moment.

  • ok.......I have to ask. What's with the chains on your wrists? Awesome energy by the way

  • Awsome! I never knew you could glue plexy glass together like that, but I do now!

I totally know what you mean about video critics. I get a lot of haters on some of my videos, but the few posative comments are all the proof that I need that making the video was worth it.

Also, I tried your idea of getting styrofoam from various retail stores. I used it to insulate a 16x24 barns. It works great! Do you ever have problem with the styrofoam off gassing?

  • Haven't had any problems with the styrofoam yet. Hopefully I won't! :-P

If I do, I'll be cursing the fact that I didn't paint them. heh heh

  • super positive mega power! oh yeah and don't forget to put a floaty boaty thingy in the robot of the future.

ok so i hope you remember else i'll sound retarded. which im not sure im not.

    bliggity blam!

  • I'm leaving a positive comment, just because jaimie appreciates it.

I've been watching all your video's since GRP Part 1, And I'm not stopping anytime soon!

Oh and yes, you really were chatty today...

  • lol nah your vids are cool your kinda like a 1 man A-TEAM lol they always use to make amazing things out of a card board box and a bit of string or macgyver lol people like you give inspiration to others and if i was canadian or had a visa id love to go and do what your doing because english rules and regs suck big time and ive got so many ideas but just wont be able to get planning permission for them because its not regulated

  • Well, I happen to be a random guy on the internet, which gives me infallible authority in regards to knowing what will and won't work. I got my degree in 'Pompously Hind-Sighted' from a little place you may have heard of, called Youtube Homepage University... Yeah, so I think I know what I'm talkin' about.

  • Pretty nice, I'm glad its going good! Also, is there a mold problem?

  • wohooo

  • Hi Jamie, just wondering if you think condensation will be a problem? - as condensation and a lovely warm banana building in your wet environment is cruising for some mold (uhh mould? - damn firefox spell checker) build up.

Also has mold intruded its black furry presence into the dome?

Lastly - you and the Daishana rock, anyone putting down what you both do just has little to no joy, (grab that joy while you can people).

  • great videos! I have always wondered, how do you keep your food around out there in the forest? do you store dry grains in air tight tubs?

  • I haven't commented on one of these in ages, but I don't really have much constructive to say so....

Keep up the good work there Jamie!

  • Do you have Porcupines in your area,I went hiking in the burlington area and ran into three of them in two days.

  • Yes! we do. ...don't see them often, but they're funny when I do see them. :-D Do you live near herre or just visited VT?

  • Just a hiking maple syrup buying sight seeing vacation trip.I'm from New york.

  • Jamie, always inspiring watching your videos.

I enjoy getting your viewpoint on life situations and solving problems, practical or otherwise.

  • dam...u just stole that words from me.... jeje its practicaly the same thinking i have THANX U JME!!!! FOR INSPIRING US!!!

  • thanks! I do my best. Although it helps to see all the people around me quitting on things then being miserable. I don't want to be unhappy!

  • You are collecting experience in doing so many things - and as you are not learning, but "trying & error" - you still do know "why it is important to______ something".

so why dont you make a book at the end? like "how to build a giant robotn & 999 cool things out of nothing" ?

with tipp sfor using the tools, cutting, gluing etc.?

  • heh heh. I thought thats what the videos were for. :-P Although.... if a publisher paid me to, I'd do it.

  • We are appreciated YAY!

  • Ya, you're appreciated. :-) Why do you think I make these stupid videos.

  • You totally need to build a small airstrip! I have my pilots license and I'd totally live out there just to fly you and supplies back and forth!

  • oh oh! no way! hmmm..... I may be able to arrange that. but.... a flat plane and a island might be even better.

  • OOoohhh an island! I plan on getting my Seaplane rating so i can land on water. it only takes another 8 hours of training or so! where would the island be?

  • All I can do is hope you did not think my comment was negative. I was just expressing my frustration at not being able to help. Well, if you were, my bad. It was not my intention to drag you down. I think your entire effort I have been able to see has been way cool, way informative, and way inspirational. No lie. I would like to suggest not using your palm as a hammer though. I had a transmissions teacher stress this to us once. He had a convincing story I won't bore you with here.

  • but but.... hand hammer is part of my kung fu training

  • i hate negative people and people who don't get excited about stuff i get excited about ever thing i hate people who don't let them self get there hopes up..

  • we should start are own country it will be made out of bottles people dump and we will make a floating island out of it.. i saw a guy do that once it was cool

  • itl be like the aztec floating city

  • we will have a large population of deer and we will hunt them and cure there meat in the finest salts and herbs known to men. we will have the freshes mango's growing ever where. and we will shake are fist at the way we use to live as we float off to warmer waters

  • maybe took it a lil far, but still a cool concept

  • I had the same idea only the city would be built on vacumn piles embedded in the seabed. The bottles would be melted in a solar furnace to produce building components.

  • I like the double up of the clip. Jaimie rants are awesome.

  • Yeap totally :D

    Down to all naysayers! hehe

  • Oh I didn't just mean the naysayers, I meant rants in general. They are like my mad little rants when I get going. It's fun to hear another's rants

  • Damn you're gettin a lot of mileage out of that 40 bucks worth of poly carbonate Jamie. You might should have included a "don't try this at home" disclaimer with that ladder mob though. lol Keep on rockin

  • the buildings coming along nicely

  • You duplicated a scene in your video. The clip starts around 4 minutes and then at 4.54 it begins again.

  • You know what I just love about this?

The way you keep getting yourself to do tedious and boring stuff over and over again - like glue all those styro boxes to the roof, cut 10 billion little pieces of that to weld it on there... "look, I just made this. Now I only need to make 128 more..."

What ever you smoke to get that way... I want some! ;-)

  • why do you keep putting boobies in your video tags? hahaha

  • Woooo postitve comments :D

  • videos :-)))))))))))))))

  • :-))))))))

  • Wow that pipe cutter is sweet. Looks like a big wire stripper, clamp and spin I'm guessing.

  • is a nice set of videos :3

  • Hi Jaimie! I was thinking to move to your place before the 2012 solar flare thing! ;) right now I'm living in the north of Sweden, and studying to be a film maker! And seriously I would love to make a documentary about you and your life (and crazy projects)! Probably in 2012 when I have worked one year to get some money to do this. I hope you are interested! Love your videos! They are so (trying to find the right word) honest! Or insanely cool! Take care // Jesper Cyren

  • Jaimie does give me the positive feeling of getting things done..

    Jaimie does this positive atmosphere!

  • I am the most pessimistic, sarcastic, cynical, skeptical person in the world. However, I find your videos to be GREAT and even uplifting. Ah, if the world just had a few more million Jamies. Thanks!

  • This is the kind of reality show that needs to be on TV!

  • Yes, it would be a huge success on Discovery. Unofrtunately, if Jamie sells out to the man, I am worried we would see him on MTV Cribs next.

  • nice video Jaimie, the banana building looks very building-ish now!

  • Oh man, I was cooking and watching your video and I got serious deja vu at 4:03.

  • Everything with the banana building seems to be going well. The windows and the front door are adding a lot of light to that place. It looks awesome.

I have to agree with xstryr, it is definitely like Christmas when you post new videos. I always look forward to seeing what you're going to do next.

You and Dashaina stay safe and healthy bro.

  • Wasn't expecting the all window front door, but man it looks awesome! Glad to hear the insulation is already working since it seems to be getting cold fast there.

  • So the door is all windows now? I guess you did have to start with something, eh?

BTW-I sent you my t-shirt pic.

  • Awesome, i think the lader thing was great! LOL

    great job!

  • It's like a Christmas present every time I see a newly uploaded video :) Like if im ever in a not so creative mood or I lack the inspiration to make stuff I just have to watch your videos :)

  • Really liking how bright it's getting inside of that building! When the snow is on the ground, that place is gonna light up like a rock stage during a flashpot sequence!

  • Jamie you should totally make some stilts! Think about it! Tallness on the move. No need to be playing with these silly ladders and scaffolding! :D

  • Man I love J-Days.

(Those are the days where Jaimie posts videos, just incase some silly person doesn't know)

  • SUMMER BUILDING CAMP!

  • OH ! OH! Ya, I totally want to do that. It would be just like in the videos...... but safer. :-P

  • but where's the fun if it's safe :(

  • fun maybe not as much but probably a little better for insurance purposes.

  • are you not recieving my msgs? I've been trying to talk to you about summer camp. maybe i'm to anoying and you dont want me around?

  • Boss keep us drones, with our cubicle jails, only let out for lunch, office lifers, bogged down by oppressing responsibilities that make someone else rich. Your videos, about your projects on your mountain environment, keep us positive...that is why we comment posiively, it is our way to live vicariously through your videos with wry smiles so that the dungeon masters and their lackies don't see us smiling, Eric was caught smiling and we haven't seen him, we use invoice dates as our calender lol

  • Ha ha. nice. Ya, I had one of those jobs once.... it was horrible!

  • Boss, almost caught us watching #25 video (finally), youtube must have same boss, or atleast a brother. the invoice say today friday, we are doubtful, we are losing concepts of days/ times, we lost concept of names, now they call me post-it gum. We miss eric, he is the only drone left with real name, we got word out that he is missing, hid picture of eric in company logo, W.B. Mason, the face you see is really eric. It was self sealing envelope's idea, her name was sally or sue or something.

  • If I had employees and caught them watching Jamie's video's I'd give them a promotion.

  • Bless you TheGreatSteve, you seem to be a...well, great guy. Our Purchase order forms tell us of a man who will come to liberate us drones, for some reason your username makes me trust you but stapler remover, his name used to rhyme with hall, I think...ah, yes, I remember; it was Cornelius. Tell me TheGreatSteve is your back wide enough to write down our plight with white out and carry our plight to the people? We are plotting an uprising to fight against the oppres...uh oh, boss coming. hide.

  • I don't know how you do it, i could never work in a cubical, I'm pretty sure i would die before 8 hours elapsed

  • How I do it? HOW I DO IT didn't you read my convictions, do you think I want to! Man, I and many others are trying to escape! we are forc...shhh....boss is here...Yeah so can i put you down for 200 units for the fiscal ye...dammit man! we're trying to escape. I've seen things, man should never see the things I did...intern face in copier platten, rigged it himself with string of paper clips, and a ruler, time of death on the copier was 4:58p, poor guy almost made it. 2nd intern faxed himself.

  • Climb into a box and post your way out! :-)

  • Yeah, we tried that, we call it the foiled triumphant, it almost went through, boss caught box before it left building, he didn't remember signing off a freight package and had box crushed in cardboard compactor, Sharpie never had a chance, we believe he had a family. the only way is to get message out, guy on outside found one of our messages, ran into building, frantically, and unknowingly warned Boss, now they use him, his tongue, to seal1000 envelopes a day. boss take all lights away from us

  • heh heh. nice.

  • Where do you get all the materials? Do you like have a big pile of stuff lying around? And, do it smell like fish inside the banana building? After all it's quite a collection of fish boxes... :) Other then that, You are one BIG source of inspiration for me (I think allot of other people here would agree as well). It's great to follow your work! Thank you for sharing!!

  • thanks!!! The fish boxes get left in the rain and sun... then they smell great. I rinse em out too. The building smells fine. I collect materials whenver I see em. Junk yard, some of the road, friends junk.... and buy stuff to fill in the rest.

  • You buy stuff to connect the free stuff together.

  • ha! nicely said

  • Thanks!

  • dude.. O: C O.. 24, 23, 26, 27... hmm.. 25?

  • totally youtubes fault!!!! I uploaded 25 yesterday. argh. I'm trying it again.

  • Maybe he's predicting the lottery numbers?

  • :D how about you building such a community in your no-man-for-a-couple-of-miles place? i'd join, wouldn't a plane ticket from romania cost a fortune.....

  • I could do it here. I just have to get a better access situation. I go through town land to get here..... and park in town usually. Don't want to deal with the town any more than I have to

  • I see you are going to be ready for the winter with the styro and the quad insulated windows.. just in time ! It's gonna be nice in there with the heating installed.. some coco.. some robo.. what else does a guy wants.. almost forgot: a GF !

  • Ya, it'll be pretty sweet. I'm planning on insulating the dome next. :-) should go faster than the banana buildiung

  • Glue Application: For white and yellow carpenters glue I clean out a plastic caulk cartridge and fill it from a bulk container. Using the glue filled caulk tube with a caulking gun provides a very convenient and rapid application of glue particularly when gluing long joints. I think the same applicator might work well for those long joints you're doing though you'd have to test the caulk cartridge to ensure the PVC glue doesn't break it down.

  • Silicone caulk cartridges seem well suited as they often have a cap to seal the tip, they are all plastic and relatively easy to clean initially if you first let any remaining silicone cure in the tube. Once cured it is fairly easy to rub and scrub the tube clean. A tiny bit of compressed air forced in from the tip will blow the piston out of the tube. Use a plastic bag over the open end of the tube to catch the piston when the air pushes it out.

  • When filling with glue cap the tube, fill from the open end, get the piston started then put the cartridge into a gun. Invert, remove the cap and squeeze the gun handle to remove any air from the cartridge. Once air is purged it's ready to use or cap it and store it.

It sounds a bit tedious and messy but the initial cleaning out of the original silicone is the worst part and that should only take a few minutes.

It works well with wood glues and might work well with your PVC gluing.

  • You should go to burning man with your giant robot when it's finished. I would happily donate some money to hire a truck to carry it or something!

  • really? sweet! Wel, maybe I'll ask who else wants to help when I get it done.

  • nice shoes! :P

  • Your Banana building would be wicked for jamming in with all that foam insulation.. But as always good work Jamie!

  • Hahahaha keep up the good work! Im always gonna watch your videos because im amazed how extremly smart and focused you are. Im also understand your frustration about those spamming negativ bastards but many of those bastards are just jellus that they dont have anything do do in their life.. Sorry, my English is pretty bad but hey! Im from sweden!

    Peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps. that chocolate milk you drank made me thisty. You shoud taste the swedish shokolate puder called O´boy.. peace!

  • ohohoh link to facwbook page PLEASE

  • seach "Gaint Robot Project" on facebook and its the first thing you see

  • oops i meant "Giant"

  • im waiting for you to get done with the robot so we can start on the Trillion Dollar Project.

  • you are freaking awesome i want to visit

  • hey found your GRP page on facebook

pretty sweet. Keep up the craziness

  • I tried but for some reason it wouldn't let me post it. So go to facebook and type in "Giant Robot Project" and it will come up as the first choice.

  • can you PM the link to me?

  • never mind, i found it.

  • The banana building is looking awesome! Are you planning to put in a floor?

  • yeah thats what i was wondering...

he'll need to insulate it because of the permafrost

  • permafrost?! He lives in Vermont, not the north pole!

  • okay not permafrost :P but still he'll still lose heat through the ground

  • i think 'heaving' might have been an issue but JME did a great job by using gravel and cinder blocks. i don't think the ground under the banana building will heave because the soil will be dry... it takes water and dirt to create heaving and it doesn't rain in side of the structure so more kudos to Jaimie

  • Super positive deja vu!

  • YOU'RE WELCOME! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • you had that whole positive environment thing in there twice. but in the spirit of a positive environment nice work so far lol

  • my thought exactly. Made me double take the double take.

We all love you Jamie. Way to be you.

  • Where's #25?
