If you're talkig about 125 2-stroke vs. 250 4-stroke, YES the 4T is torquier. BUT, if you're talking against the 250 2-stroke, NO!! An '08 RM250 has a peak torque of 29 ft-lb at 7500 rpm while an '08 RMZ250 only got 18.7 ft-lb peak torque and has to rev +11,000 rpm to produce only 34 hp. The RM250 2T is around 45 hp.

ill always buy up the 2 strokes, my kdx 200 is fast as f*** and its a beast down low. and the 2002 JR80 is so fast i cant keep the front end down, and thats only an 80, but all my bikes are aftermarket ad-ons like fmf pipes and boyesen reeds and cages wiseco piston and cranks etc, but only a fool would turn their back on a 2 stroke for a 4, all that power, all you need is the balance

Stewart could ride that 125 way over it's capabilities. Not like the 450's which he can sometimes let get the better of him. I remember some races where he posted faster lap times on the 125 than the 250/450 guys were. That included Ricky and Chad. Roncoda became addicted to pain pills (or something like that) and retired from racing. Now he works for a software company. I really liked his riding though. BRINGBACKTHE2SMOKE!!

Roncada was an awesome rider. He was as good if not better than James Stewart and Charmicael, but they say he got in to drugs so he stopped racing. Shame, huh?
one little mistake that cost chad a couple seconds and ur blaming james well then i guess u can blame chad for wat happend at a1 and so wat if chad lost a couple seconds james is the real champ for loosing 25 points in the first race and even more at daytona and then coming back to win win win win win
well im just saying that cc for cc a two stroke makes more power. I work out at glen helen sometimes and since the ama changed the rules there are tons of 250 two strokes in the lights class now and they smoke the 250fs on the start.
Of course a 250 2 stroke can smoke a 250F ? There is way more power in the 250 2 stroke, but the traction is not the same right? And we have not to forget, its about the man on the machine to.
yea the two stroke does tire u out more and is harder to ride. But if you are a good rider that is in shape i believe u have a much bigger advantage racing the 250 two stroke in the lites class instead of the 250f.
they were gonna allow 250's in the lites class this year but it didnt happen, so they allowed it for all other classes except pro's. Hopefully next year that would make racing so much more interesting. Cause the 250f is like a supercharged car with smooth power and the two stroke is like a turbocharged car that is faster but harder to control.
Its sad for sure to not see the 2 strokes out there on the highest level, but rumors and talk have the last months been about 250 2 strokes going to compete in the 250F nationals, but it´s not going to be that way, cause Kawasaki dont have a 250 2 stroke anymore, Either do Honda, either do Suzuki, The japanese factories have to start making them again if that should be a statement. No, Honda dont make any 2 strokes anymore, they dont even import them to the rest of the world, the only 2 strokes that are left from Honda is the 2 strokes that the shops imported from last years, Suzuki and kawasaki still makes them do, but suzuki wont make them next year for the public.
Excactly, The procircuit had the 250f , and their bike was on the dyno , stronger for sure. but still james bike was tuned for him and it was a factory race machine, he could ride a 125 to it´s full potential , like no one else could back then, when he rode a 250 F at glen helen same year he said, was i even racing out there , so much better was hes thought about the 250F power. But as a fan of motocross, i admit i loved to see the 250F got smoked by a 125 2 smoke!
if you like motocross you should say you enjoy booth ? 2 strokes are cool for sure, the sound is great and they are fun to ride, but the four is the way of the future, no matter what, it´s the AMA´s and the japanese factorys fault.
Not even close dude, it didnt have horse power of a 250 F four stroke today, James actually said himself he had to race that machine to the full edge cause it was so slow, and he have nightmares about the 250 2 stroke he rode 05, sure this 125 was great in is day, but it was no way as powerful as a big 250 2 stroke even if it was tuned factory.
there is any 250 fourstroke that makes more power than a 250 2 stroke. People dont understand that ,these factory bikes may have more horsepower, and are damn fast, but they are also more rideable and mellower and have imidietly throttle respons, we cant compare a stock bike and a race bike of factorys, cause a stock bike is harder to rider than their bikes are, but you still have to be good enough to race a full ace bike cause is so stiff suspension ways.

The 450's do cost $35g to $50g each per season with each rider going through a couple of them per season. AMA limit

The 2010 season was to allow the 2 stroke to race with the PRO's and reintroduce the 125's
AMA & FIM set forward the new rules for 2010 to bring back MX from a near death as well as reduce the running costs for privateers
The Japanese told the AMA in NO uncertain terms on 10/09 that there WILL/MUST NOT be a single 2 stroke pro or privateer at any event
DFi 2T 250 has LOWER EMISSIONS / more torque / lower fuel consumption than a 450
Honda had DFi CR400 in 1998

riding is all about having fun and i dont care who you are 2 strokes are way more fun to ride. i have more fun on my yz 125 than i do on my dads crf 450.

Roncada was an awesome rider. He was as good if not better than James Stewart and Charmicael, but they say he got in to drugs so he stopped racing. Shame, huh?

one little mistake that cost chad a couple seconds and ur blaming james well then i guess u can blame chad for wat happend at a1 and so wat if chad lost a couple seconds james is the real champ for loosing 25 points in the first race and even more at daytona and then coming back to win win win win win

well im just saying that cc for cc a two stroke makes more power. I work out at glen helen sometimes and since the ama changed the rules there are tons of 250 two strokes in the lights class now and they smoke the 250fs on the start.

Of course a 250 2 stroke can smoke a 250F ? There is way more power in the 250 2 stroke, but the traction is not the same right? And we have not to forget, its about the man on the machine to.

yea the two stroke does tire u out more and is harder to ride. But if you are a good rider that is in shape i believe u have a much bigger advantage racing the 250 two stroke in the lites class instead of the 250f.

they were gonna allow 250's in the lites class this year but it didnt happen, so they allowed it for all other classes except pro's. Hopefully next year that would make racing so much more interesting. Cause the 250f is like a supercharged car with smooth power and the two stroke is like a turbocharged car that is faster but harder to control.

Its sad for sure to not see the 2 strokes out there on the highest level, but rumors and talk have the last months been about 250 2 strokes going to compete in the 250F nationals, but it´s not going to be that way, cause Kawasaki dont have a 250 2 stroke anymore, Either do Honda, either do Suzuki, The japanese factories have to start making them again if that should be a statement. But long live the 2 stroke :) anyway! True mx fans love the 2 strokes!

Yeah i didnt say you cant win on a 2 stroke 125 vs 450 ? But then the rider on the 450 aint that good, i talked about power delivery and horsepower making, take 2 equal riders , one on 125 2 stroke, and the other on the 250 F the 250F would smoke the 125 in the start 9 of 10 times, if you have watched Villopoto race 250F vs big 450F in des nations and still came out almost with the holehot,

the only reason a 250f would beat a 125 2stroke off of the gate is because it's geeting more power to the ground. not because it MAKES more power. it's just that simple. 2 strokes spin.

actually honda, suzuki and kawasaki make 2 strokes still. they just dont IMPORT them to the united states. because the carribean, south america, europe, asia and everywhere else besides the u.s are getting new 2 strokes from honda, suzuki, kawasaki, yamaha, ktm and all the dirt bike companies that ever originally made 2 strokes. 2 strokes arent the past becuz theyre still beind used and coming back, ONLY TIME WILL TELL. i do like 4 stroke race bikes but 2 strokes r better =)

No, Honda dont make any 2 strokes anymore, they dont even import them to the rest of the world, the only 2 strokes that are left from Honda is the 2 strokes that the shops imported from last years, Suzuki and kawasaki still makes them do, but suzuki wont make them next year for the public.

Excactly, The procircuit had the 250f , and their bike was on the dyno , stronger for sure. but still james bike was tuned for him and it was a factory race machine, he could ride a 125 to it´s full potential , like no one else could back then, when he rode a 250 F at glen helen same year he said, was i even racing out there , so much better was hes thought about the 250F power. But as a fan of motocross, i admit i loved to see the 250F got smoked by a 125 2 smoke!

if you like motocross you should say you enjoy booth ? 2 strokes are cool for sure, the sound is great and they are fun to ride, but the four is the way of the future, no matter what, it´s the AMA´s and the japanese factorys fault.

Not even close dude, it didnt have horse power of a 250 F four stroke today, James actually said himself he had to race that machine to the full edge cause it was so slow, and he have nightmares about the 250 2 stroke he rode 05, sure this 125 was great in is day, but it was no way as powerful as a big 250 2 stroke even if it was tuned factory.

there is any 250 fourstroke that makes more power than a 250 2 stroke. People dont understand that ,these factory bikes may have more horsepower, and are damn fast, but they are also more rideable and mellower and have imidietly throttle respons, we cant compare a stock bike and a race bike of factorys, cause a stock bike is harder to rider than their bikes are, but you still have to be good enough to race a full ace bike cause is so stiff suspension ways.

WD3LA0 you realize that 2 strokes are more reliable+ cheaper to maintain right? only 2 strokes cant beat a 450 they got hook up near as good the power delivery is just to different now dont forget 4 stroke have double the cc's of a 2 stroke which isnt fair think of a 450cc 2 stroke would kill the 4 stroke 450 but sx tracks are built for 4 strokes no wide turns or deep whoops
