  • Jason reminds me of the time when all singers had to rely on their voices not the backing they all seem to need these days. Well done Jason you are a joy for these old ears to listen with, reminds me of my singing days.

  • The song and the singer are both wonderful. I just discovered this song and has listened to various singers. Jason Watson was blessed with a beautiful voice and he knows how to use it. Very powerful...sung with such conviction..."Bring Them Home."

  • Never fails to make me cry. So Beautiful, and so true.

  • go to the top of the class with a performance like that, A+

  • You're the man, Jason. I don't care how short you are. :-) Wonderful job my friend. Remember his name, folks...remember his name.

  • His voice floats effortlessly over the notes, like a lullaby... but it's a prayer and it brought tears to my eyes...

  • is he brother of russell watson

  • quite spectacular.

  • Fantastic control, beautiful tone. You are a phenomenal singer.

  • Wow. Jason does a great job. It's not the same range that Colm has but it's still very beautiful. I was touched that he dedicated it to the soldiers too, very fitting.

and MetalliMad is right, you should fire this pianist.

  • Colm Wilkinson would be proud BRAVO !!!

  • Use to sing this song when I was in pageants......Still brings tears to my eyes.

    Love it

  • Oh my goodness, you are a freaking god! My school did this musical this past spring and I have to say you would have made an excellent addition to the cast. Please pursue a future in voice, because you definitely have the talent to support your goals.

  • Bravo... que bella voz

  • damn u're good!

  • AWESOME !!!!

  • Agree What a voice

  • The pianist is fucking dreadful

  • so effortless, very nice!

  • very touching... i like it. thanks!

  • Just beautiful. I've listened to 5 different singers do this song, and he's up there with the best . Heartfelt and emotional, well done Jason. B x

  • yeah i guess you're ait...whatev.... show off! pretty gal and EVERYTHING!!! p.s. i'll kill anyone who is dumb enough (and deef) to dis anything you sing--- here that BEECHES!?!?!? miss you guys!!!! oh and see you soon! kiss'er fr me!

  • Bravo, Jason - beautiful job, truly touching. If you love this song, you should go to Myspace Music and check out a guy named Kurt Bowen. His version of this song is the most powerful I've EVER heard...absolutely AMAZING!!

  • I am a Les Miz fan from, well, forever. I have the NY and London CD's, I have seen it 10x both on Broadway and around the world, and this has to be the most amazing version I have ever heard. What a spectacular voice he has!!

  • Im sorry..... two words for you COLM WILKINSON! He is the best who has ever even THOUGHT about singing this song and by FAR the best ValJean! You should know all of this being as how you have seen it ten times..... wow

  • Don't get me wrong, I love Colm Wilkinson (I don't think he was the best ever, tho). This performance is exceptionally emotional because of the setup to it.

Surprisingly, one of the best performances of Valjean was by a guy who looked like he should have been in the Sex Pistols (on Broadway last year or the year before). He had a beautiful voice and did a very different Jean V than all the others I have seen.

Consider the setting of this vid. I think he is amazing. But this isn't Broadway.

  • This song is amazing...

I've been listening to it about 30 times now ;)

  • I'm currently assistant directing Les Mis and I'd just like to say that I've heard that song sung a million times--by both young and old, and this performance is by far my favorite. Your falsetto is beautiful and your vibrato is perfect. Thank you.

  • Andrew...

This was not posted for you to judge as though the kids are on Idol. I took the time to listen to some of your performances and what say I....Dreadful, awful, pain to my ears, like some kid singing at a gastly party... see doesn't feel so good does it,

Jason Watson is very talented and this performance is one of my favorites!

  • Truly respect the sentiment. In my opinion the vibrato is overpowering, also the high notes sound more falsetto than full body pianissimo - can we get some clarity on which way he is choosing to approach these?

  • Thank you for doing this, We saw Les Mis 5 times.

Your sentiment is felt by millions.

  • Bravo

  • That was awesome. My cousin is in Baghdad and this reminded me of him. God bless you.

  • great singing, it's now in my favourites folder.

  • Very very nice.

  • Wow,this left me breathless.Thanks for posting

  • The first time I heard this song was at a voice lesson masterclass, and the guy that sang it was just as great as Jason. I started crying, and I felt so embarrassed, but it touched my heart. That song means so much to me. I think this is the best performance I've heard of this song. Beautiful song, beautiful work.

  • First off...BEAUTIFUL!! Ignore the 16yr arm chair broadway divas/divos! Second off....comment on the vibrato! This is the best version because of that. You have a beautifully balanced voice, a great spin to your vibrato, which attests to a great balance. Hearing you sing anything would probably be great! Hopefully we will see more of you soon! Great work.....and F The HATERS! :)

  • Wow! Brilliant! Beautiful! Thank you Jason. What a gift!

  • Thanks, Jason. You did this song great justice. You gave it so much meaning by orienting the song about our troops that have fought so valiantly these past few years and today. Bravo!

  • This was done i asssume in a "karaoke" like environment and yet your voice is amazing. I like your vibrato especially during those high notes. A real production gets the best more from the singer. It's hard to judge that your "acting" is lacking for obvious reason. Overall, wonderful performance!! Wish you would audition in broadway and we'll get to see u more.

  • AMAzing talent..

  • That was amazing!!! It made me fall even more in love with the song. What a voice.

  • That was AWESOME!!! Brought tears to my eyes... Love the song.

  • Who is this guy? Amazing Voice...

    Is he professional?

  • wow. amazing.

  • Beautiful performance and lovely voice. Many here are harsh critics and isn't it easy to be a critic "Well, so and so's better" and "his voice isn't really suited..." nonsense. Well sung. And especially poignant given the beauty of the song itself and the context in which it is sung. We could all learn and benefit much if we aspired to the message of the song -- which is sacrifice of oneself to the benefit of others out of love. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

  • Very good!

  • Any...particular reason? Can't tell if you're joking through YouTube comments; which is why I wish you could type tone of voice. If it's my opinion about Wilkinson and Owen-Jones, I can't flip my opinion around. etc... Of course, just to prove I do have a sense of humor, if it was a response to my 'don't attack me' thing, I do get the joke, and I'm being weird.

  • Valjean's love for his adopted daughter and his fatherly protection over the young gave him the power to feel the emotions occurring in the lyrics, but it's a song of hope, of sadness, of joy, of wanting, of having, and above all, faith. Perhaps Jason Watson may not have the greatest voice- though having performed it myself in front of thousands, I think he did a fine job- but it was his inspiration, his purpose that made this song fly, and you can feel that when he sings.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a "who is better" contest. Certainly, there will be fans of Colm Wilkinson for his origination of the song... and there will be fans of Gemignani for his most recent version... and there will be fans of everyone in between. The reality is not the preference, or who is better vocally- the message of this song is not how it is sung, but why it is sung, and what has inspired the person to sing it.

  • Good. He's no Colm however and I believe this song doesn't really suit his voice...plus he either changed or screwed up the lyrics. Having sung this song publically myself, I didn't really enjoy that personally. :-P

  • Really amazing! I loved it!

  • not bad

  • ...and he hasn't played this role on broadway WHY?! That was one of the best versions of this song I've heard. It was so heartfelt and PURE. Absolutely gorgeous. Wow.

  • Nice. He just went to the 'm' on the last note a little early and forced himself to hum it. Nice enunciation, good pitch, no scooping (scooping is the reason I can't stand Colm Wilkinson's and John Owen-Jones' performances. Don't attack me about that point, please.). Not bad overall, though he's a bit young for the part. What am I saying?! I'm sixteen!

  • My favourite is John Owen Jones, but Jason is not bad at all

  • Nice voice.Love the passion in your voice!!!.. keep up the good work... I will be putting my version of Bring him home soon.. Check me out... I did a version of What Have I done....

  • Congrats to you Jason if you are reading these comments. You always made me cry when you sang this. This is by far the best I have heard from you, and from anyone else. Stunning!

  • tht was just ok John Owen Jones is the best his voice is so amazing.

  • Awesome. Too bad the ending wasn't as strong as the rest of the song (still awesome though!)

  • Gorgeous voice, I'd like to hear him do The Last Night of the World or You Walk With Me

  • I like this a lot, but he cuts off the longer notes too soon and doesn't sing through the phrases. But he has a great voice, and definetly belongs on Broadway or somewhere where he will be well known!

  • I loved this but he does not have the power/projection/ that John Owen-Jones has. Certainly one of the better versions I have heard though.

  • John Owen-Jones's high end isn't supported -- nice bottom but he doesn't know how to use pianissimo correctly.

  • He's very good, if he was standing he would have had more projection, but thats fine. He definitely has the voice to be on broadway=)

  • WOW!!! Do you a CD out? You have an amazing gift...truely love your voice!

  • you brought tears to my eyes and gave me goosebumps!i hope you keep singing, yours is a talent not to be wasted! Bravo

  • Beautiful. I am speechless.

  • I don't know who Jason Watson is but he has a set of pipes that belong on Broadway. This song is done to death but Jason's rendition is truly something extraordinary.

  • Bravesimo. Much better in every way, much beter breath control then JOJ.

  • you sing it differently than i've ever heard it before, but i deffinately prefer your way. its beautiful, great job :)

  • Very nicely done sir. More importantly the wonderful dedication, I just simply love it. Bravo!

  • Great voice.

  • He has a great instrument but I prefer a little more of a Broadway belt to the night club crooner sitting on a stool. Overall a very good vocal though.

  • Thank you so much for sharing. What an amazing performance and so heart felt!!

  • wow, what an interesting setting for the song; I had never put Iraq and Bring Him Home together, but it's an inspiring (although somewhat chilling) combination.

    beautiful voice. beautiful performance.

  • Wow. He's amazing!

  • I just go massive chills

  • *sigh* i love this song

  • awesome, simply awesome mate, well done
