But yeah, that's the egg song. When one of my hens is ready to lay an egg, she starts chattering like this. Then my two roosters start chattering back, and then she gets into a nest and shuts up for a while. Then she starts chattering like this right after she lays the egg.

None of my other hens respond to the egg song. Maybe the hen's asking the roosters to stand watch while she lays and dismissing them when she's done..
