cool video...its funny...I'm a Taos native and I have NEVER climbed Wheeler!!! Now that you did all the hard work for me and I have seen the views I think I'm cool saying.."I've done Wheeler" now...lmao. BTW...how long did it take to recover from that climb?! Ouch. Maybe next year...lol.
Thanks for the comment! It took over a week for the worst pain to go away, but probly 3-4 weeks till the random hip pain stopped. I was seriously worried I dislocated my hip for awhile. But thats what a green horn gets! It was an unforgetable experience!
Oh my gosh!!! One of my boss's climbed Wheeler with his kids weekend before last. He came to work so beat! Lol. I'm glad to hear you didn't do serious damage to your hip...the shortcut might of done that to ya! I think a shortcut for me would be making arrangements for a helicopter to come get my tired backside..lol. BTW...did you ever befriend the hedgehog?? lol

Enjoyed the views. The wife and I got married in Taos last year and made the same hike (without the shortcut).
