rozy, the black girl really reminds me of my friends sister, and the friendship she has that boy is quite comment to have friends who are eather younger or of the oposit gender. but the boy who was labling the tape remind me more of someone with OCD rather than Autism though they can acore together int he same person.

I would have to say from my own life experience with AS that this video shows just a small "spectrum of the spectrum." It just seems so hopeless, and it's NOT hopeless. How sad.

Black girl looks to me like child abuse. Norms should perhaps avoid assuming the AS is the making her 'violent'. She probably does have it. That does not mean she was raised decently.

I know that there are varying degrees of Asperger's (My sister), but I did not like the way this documentary was presented. It was broad casted over a period of around 4-6 weeks and covered alot of people with a co morbid diagnosis (Aspergers+other diagnosis). The principle of the school was very understanding and seemed to know alot about Asperger's. I still would have liked to see more on the spectrum who didn't have behavioral issues portrayed in the documentary.

Yeah-I don't even know if some of these people have AS. They probably have general autism, maybe high functioning, maybe not. The comorbid diagnoses-such as Tourettes, ADHD impair a qualitative judgement of AS, making this potentially misinforming. An alternative documentary was Beautiful Young Minds-check out the posts by BeaYouMin.

I agree with Kurai - you need to show the positive side as well. Look at Bill Gates rocking in meetings or check out the smartest person in the world (In my opinion) Daniel Tammet.
