May I ask where you gathered this information from??? I just want to research it and study for myself......I've been made to believe the myth, this is a true eye opener....WOW!!!
The video is speaking on African-on-African slavery. It doesn't seem to mention Arab (Islamic) slavery of Africans, which was cruel also, but not quite to the extent of that ushered in by the Europeans. :-)
LOL!! And you think the Jews are going to allow that? You're a dumb ass. The Jews were the original slave owners, it was their idea, and they don't give a damn about YOU either. Don't believe me? Their sacrificing YOUR sons and daughters to fight in their wars, and they call you GOYIM (which means unclean one). They have driven a wedge between the "goyim", and so you (like a puppet) exclaim, "Blacks should leave the country." No, you should join with Blacks to defeat your REAL enemy!!
Happy black history month, and this video is correct about european slavery of africans. History is one sided based on the perspective of the winner. If there was slavery in africa the country would become economically advanced like america. Africa before colonialism had voluntary service like america today.
Also for those naysayers who wanna know where the European weapons are...that's like asking where are the weapons of Mass destruction that sent us to war with iraq...we never found those either...now did we....and we still went to war...Don't believe everything you see and hear...that's what research is for...yet you refuse to think for yourself...
Truth...I am in the military...truth...I am an african american female..Truth...There still those who are out there who HAAAATTTEEE.....us...I see it all the time amongst the ranks...on my LEVEL...every deployment I've been on, there has been a level of racism..full blown....so...Im not crazy and I know what's there.. just because you don't here about it on the "MEDIA"...don't mean it's not happening
Of course whites think their better then everyone else. I'm white and I sure as heck don't believe I'm better then everyone else. We wouldn't have this problem if we allowed Blacks to come to America of their own free will. What' so freaking wrong with that? CAN ANYONE ANSWER THAT?
@BastSekhmetMut Firstly the "allow" thingy is some BS...Blacks were here when whites arrived! Africans and Indigenous Native Americans!! Already on our Own Free Will!! Using the Continental drifts to get here and by way of the land mass connects...........you have already displayed ur subconscious supremacy wit your statement of allowance. that was then and this is now.....Nothing stays the same, a Universal Law.
The term slavery itself is weaponization of linguisitcs. It was not slavery but aquisition or indenturing. Often in battle people were taken as prisoners or rather in more complete conceptualization Losses due to defeat. As noted by Martin Delaney, the term is irrelevant and inapplicable to what was described as such occuring in africa. Slavery is a lose connection due to the status as being an implies or technical lesser or disadvantage socially etc, but conviniently works out to misdirect.
Another question - what of this other story of the whites who lived in North America before the coming of the Indians? Perhaps another myth, yet, the tale tells of the Indians chasing them into a cave & murdering them all! I haven't had time to chase it up but since you seem well-informed & intelligent then I am interested in your opinion.
To me history is never too certain... Which is why I urge for interest & action in the now!
I really don't know how one would now know my friend, my concern is really why you think you do know? I think that the Spanish codices are as likely to be biased as are your “certain” stories. You talk of possibilities that may or may not have happened... Hard now to know. Of course if the throne was given to Cortez then he was surely entitled to smash what he liked. I personally find the notion distasteful, but am I to deny that one is master over his own domain? (cont'd)
I accept there are alternative stories... My concern is for certainty. To wit from whence does your certainty in your story come? What makes is true, yet another story untrue?
For example: It makes sense that the surviving codices are in Spanish doesn't it? Who could read Nahuatl? I could be wrong but I don't remember Nahuatl being a written language... At least not for many years after the glorious return of the White God!
@CeltoSaxonKnight, does this ring a bell? "... clearly you do have something against certain races because you're determined to drive home your “get whitey” ancient propagandist history lesson." Tell us, CeltoSax, since when does bringing up verified historical information equal your so-called concept of a "get whitey" ancient propagandist history lesson?
An excellent question in many ways. Certainly I claim no epistemic certainty her, yet I look to what is being said & assess it. Here I see no recognition of the good things white people have done – the $billions of aid given to Africa, the medicine, the clean water, the technology … um, underwear … I literally could go on for hours!
Also why no mention of the injustices of anyone else?
Lastly what do you mean by verified historical information?
@CeltoSaxonKnight . My last response was in answer to your question to Native Support: "Whom did I accuse of being a white-hater?" And to think, all of your spiel a defense mechanism against admitting the atrocities committed against the Native American men, women and children across America. Pitiful indeed!
No reason... Opinions differ I guess. 87% of those who voted gave this video a thumbs up, I'm assuming they'd agree with you too that white supremacy is true... Hmm... Interesting, perhaps white supremacy is a fact after all.
Negroids living in the USA & Europe today are living in societies set up by & for white people. If white preference exists that may be why. However white supremacy is a social construction, a lie you have been fed in order to vitalise a black victimology so that your group can be used a a force against whites.
Traditionally whites have believed in hierarchy not supremacy. Sorry to debunk your grievance/blame culture at such an early point but someone had to...
@CeltoSaxonKnight Of course it's true. It's well documented in history. I find it somewhat odd that you don't see the relevance. After all, I based my comment on the first sentence of *your* comment.
You certainly didn't 'base' it on my first sentence... You may have been 'responding' to my first sentence, but since I was talking about societies & not physical land then, again, I don't see the relevance.
~
Some stories say that the Aztecs welcomed Cortez as the returning Quetzalcoatl, & actively aided the Spanish – even giving Cortez the throne...
@CeltoSaxonKnight let's skip the trivial technicalities and get to the bottom line: Native Americans were slaughtered, swindled, and herded for their land. Did you think such tragedies as the "Trail of Tears" are merely fictitious? Do you doubt the Louisiana Purchase actually happened? Many Native tribes have been wiped out. Others have been all but annihilated. Their collective heritage and cultures were stamped out for greed...and that same level of greed runs rampant today.
You know in 10,000 BC the Ug-Ugs invaded the Urgh-Urgh's cave & took a big shiny stone...
Why aren't you harassing Jews about slaughtering Palestinians & taking their lands? That is an injustice going on today with victims suffering right now! Or better still why not show YOU have no ethnic bias & speak out against the sickening brutal murders of white South Africans by blacks!
@CeltoSaxonKnight LMAO, let's stick to American history. Don't deflect the topic, stick to the point. I'm not harassing you. YOU said "Negroids living in the USA & Europe today are living in societies set up by white people, but you won't even acknowledge the events that led up to it! Events that all but wiped out the population of Native Americans. Whether you choose to admit it or not, IT STILL HAPPENED! I have nothing against any race of people but the TRUTH is the TRUTH!
Why stick to American History? The subject matter of the video is white supremacy & it was to that topic that my original comment pertained. It is you who have strayed off topic! Secondly clearly you do have something against certain races because you're determined to drive home your “get whitey” ancient propagandist history lesson.
The Romans invaded my homelands, enslaved people, murdered people, stole its wealth – should I still hold a grudge against Italians?
@CeltoSaxonKnight Why stick to American History? Because of the first sentence of your comment! What reason would you have for not admitting the devastation of the Natives? I never strayed off topic. In fact, I only reiterated what happen before the event you spoke of. It's truly not that difficult to understand. We all are living on stolen land.
abeed were not well treated back then nor are they today, they weren't even allowed children as they were mostly castrated or the children killed...arab slavery in africa was the longest lasting and most brutal genocide in history
a fact is that arab muslims and african converts were and are the most cruel and longest lasting slave masters of africans ever! 150 million victims and still going on in some places...please dont forget to mention that. it was also muslims who sold the slaves to the europeans
I don't trust whites. Never have and never will. Black people need to shut them out, ignore everything they say and let me go extinct. Their influence is always negative and harmful. I'm happy many black people are seeing the truth.
@ByabyaChannel Well you didn't expect this. Funny thing is we know the history of slavery and the differences. You who didn't bother to learn history call it stupid but you cannot refute what is said.
@THEMONITOR72 Do you really believe blacks today are held down by whites, as the reason for ongoing black failure? THe OPPOSITE is the truth. If welfare, subsidized housing, affirmative action, and all other mandated special privileges for blacks (which are granted by liberal whites) ended today--guess what would happen? The US would quickly look like South Africa: Neat, healthy white suburbs protected by razor barbed wire, with dilapidated, cholera-infected black shantytowns next door.
@takfam07 First of all wel-fare isn't a special privilege for blacks since there are more people that are white on wel-fare than blacks. Affirmative action isn't a special privilege for blacks either because the largest recipients of wel-fare are white women. The fact is that you are angry because you perceive blacks as getting special privileges but you cannot understand the disgust that blacks feel over white privilege. Funny that.
@Ryooken Actually, blacks collect about the same amount of welfare as whites. The figures vary year to year, each group collecting between 35-38% of total welfare distributed in the U.S. But remember-- there are 5x as many whites as blacks! THAT'S the salient figure. Re. white women and AA, that's because AA is an automatic entitlement (i.e., you don't "apply" for it)--and white women are 33% of the total US pop. And on the SAT exam, it literally asks: "If you are BLACK, check here."
@takfam07 Actually they don't blacks are 38 million people living and working in the USA. Whites are almost 635 million. Blacks have a little over 14 million on welfare where as whites have over 241 million people on welfare. Blacks got their poverty because of racism and the aftermath of slavery, segregation and other forms of oppression inflicted on them by white people. White people are on welfare why? That doesn't include welfare for the rich white people for bail outs etc.
@Ryooken You'd better check your stats again. 635 million whites? The TOTAL population of the U.S. is 300 million, last time I checked! But you are correct about one thing: there about 38 million blacks, of which about 14 million are on welfare. A little more than a third of blacks on welfare-- that seems about right. But you are wrong, black poverty was not the result of slavery, oppression and segregation. It is the ongoing result of flawed black values, attitude, beliefs and behaviors.
@takfam07 In a society that assigns privileges thru racial stratification Blacks will ALWAYS remain at the bottom. In the early part of the 20th century, Italian and Eastern European immigrants to the U.S. ranked around what is currently the black average for IQ scores and now that they've been accepted as fully white in this society, their IQ scores are the same as the other white groups; 100%. So, what happened in that time to make Italian and Eastern Europeans so intelligent?
@THEMONITOR72 Wow, that mindset of believing in discrimination as the sole cause of black problems is the most damaging element for blacks today. It's almost poignant that blacks prefer to think this way, in the face of contrary evidence--because it's safe. Like Linus and his security blanket-- the security blanket of racism. Because a real "level playing field" can be very frightening--the unknown, like freedom in 1865. It means others are no longer responsible for one's failure. (cont).
@takfam07 Right, "freedom' that did NOT prevent mobs from lynching Blacks without jurisprudence. Freedom that did not allow Blacks to vote and to participate viably in politics and the like. Again because you are Asian thru this system of racial stratification you remain higher on the "totem pole" than Blacks. GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 (cont) As for IQ, language acquisition and increased education probably upped the scores. My immigrant Asian ancestors probably scored lower than their grandchildren. But their generation still achieved success--heroic success, given racism and cultural barriers --despite grade-school-only educations. Improved scores have to do with assimilation, but mainly education as a cultural value. Ever notice there's a 100% correlation between cultural values, IQ, and economic success?
@takfam07 America has a "cultural value" that maligns and marginalizes Black folks. So yes I see the correlation. Again I NEVER stated Blacks don't have anything to change in our communities. That is what you believe is inferred when I, criticize this country. Though I continue to tell you otherwise, you believe what you want. That is what I've come to expect from people like you. The little rights we have come from my people complaining about this country. GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 All I see in America is the country trying to support blacks. Special business loans and gov't contracts, preferred college admissions (on the SAT exam--"if you are black, check here"), affirmative action, subsidized housing, overrepresented with "positive images" in the media. Ever notice that most commercials have blacks in them? And ONLY in positive light. Always an upper middle-class, two-parent family with the white picket fence. I'd feel patronized if I were black.
@THEMONITOR72 How come you never hear about a movement of educated blacks going into the inner cities and changing black culture from within? You only hear about whites trying to lead these efforts. Exact same thing in Africa--always foreign aid workers, blacks never lead the charge to help their own people. Once whites leave, "things fall apart" again. All we have are "race hustler"s like Sharpton, Jackson and Farrakhan stirring up black resentment--never outlining step-by-step solutions.
@takfam07 Have you ever heard of Pan-Africanism, Marcus Garvey,Harlem Renaissance, Black Panther Party, Civil Rights, or Hip-Hop??? Those were movements, how old are you???
You forgot the White "race-baters" like Hannity, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Coulter, Levin, Boortz, Beck, Palin, and Angle just to name a few. Hell they have whole networks and radio stations dedicated to race hustling. (Fox News)
@THEMONITOR72 I covered Afro Am Studies as part of my Harvard grad school work on Postcolonial Studies years ago. Wrote a prize-winning essay on SDS, SNCC, the Panthers, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. Also covered Malcolm X extensively, my former mentor was his friend and host when X lectured at Harvard. I studied with Skip Gates and Cornel West and worked with them planning conferences. Also, I went to high school with Barry Obama and knew him. Think I'm lying, don't you? ;o) Think again.
@takfam07 I really couldn't care any less about where you went to school and who the f%ck you know. You asked me "How come you never hear about a movement of educated blacks going into the inner cities and changing black culture from within?" So if in fact you know these people and studied under them then you wouldn't ask such a stupid question!!! Clearly NOTHING you've learned has caused you to gain critical thinking. GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 No, I know why THEY (West, Gates, et al) don't go into the inner cities and change the culture from within. Because they have a vested interest in blacks staying ignorant, dependent, and angry. They're the "race hustlers," the middlemen who get rich by playing off white guilt and black entitlement. Now-- why YOU and other responsible blacks don't form civic coalitions to fix the inner cities? Mostly fear. You'd get ostracized, maybe physically harmed. So it's understandable.
@THEMONITOR72 We're all race junkies, that's why we're here. And you still haven't answered my question: why aren't there civic coalitions of responsible blacks going in to fix the inner cities? If I woke up tomorrow and discovered I'd turned into a black person overnight, that's exactly what I'd do. Like Booker T. experienced directly over 100 years ago-- such a black-led self-help movement would be guaranteed to generate MILLIONS in funding support from well-meaning, rich whites.
@takfam07 Pan-Africanism, Marcus Garvey, Harlem Renaissance, Black Panther Party, Civil Rights, or Hip-Hop??? All MOVEMENTS started by Blacks!!! Later co-opted, derailed or infiltrated by racist Whites and Blacks who support the White Supremacist/Racism notions. GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 Those were some great movements, too. But it's time for a new black vision, a new renaissance. Inner city culture is nothing more than a "bowel movement," the tragic result of not following Booker T. But if responsible blacks start a movement to "correct black culture," everyone would cheer. And I guarantee you-- lots of whites would help fund it. Keep whites from gaining control, though. In fact, smart to retain Asian American advisors--they've walked the path in question.
@takfam07 I have no quarrel with your last posting but the preceding one about "non-white Horatio Alger success story" I do. Have your people been enslaved here??? Culture and self-identity been destroyed??? Have your people been lynched on accusations and no justice from law enforcement??? Man you are a piece of work. GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 We weren't enslaved, but indentured servitude on the railroads wasn't exactly country-clubbing, nor was contract labor on the Hawaii plantations and California orchards. And when WWII hit, my family was forcibly interned for 4 years, lost all their property and capital assets. Our constitutional rights were stripped--racism? Yet my uncles volunteered and fought gallantly for the US in Europe and the Pacific. Leveraged war heroism and the GI Bill to rebuild and prosper. (cont).
@THEMONITOR72 You're saying blacks had less access to the GI Bill than Japanese Americans--who were just removed from their property and officially deemed public enemy #1? And what middle? We started from rock bottom in this country. No money, no education, no political power--non-white. There's always an excuse. I know that deep down, intelligent blacks must secretly think: "there's gotta be something wrong with the way black people play the hand they're dealt."
@takfam07 Black individuals have ALWAYS succeeded even during slavery times. No one is saying racism is insurmountable. I'm saying that when Black people galvanize our efforts it will be at a time of OUR choosing NOT some outsiders. You bore me, go bother someone else. Because you have nothing of substance to add to ANY discussion as relates to the Black experience. GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 "A time of OUR choosing"? Great. Failure, with entitlement and attitude--the entire black story. Meanwhile, read Booker T.'s "Up From Slavery." The Black Code of Honor is already in there.
@THEMONITOR72 (cont). I'm not saying Asian Americans had it the same as blacks. All I'm saying is you can face heavy institutionalized and overt racism, be on the colored side of Jim Crow, face housing, employment and education discrimination, constantly made to feel inferior. But you SUPPORT EACH OTHER--critically important --and stay focused. Work hard, study, save. Then the IQ test results come back--aha, I KNEW we were as smart as these f^$#*&rs! But keep moving forward. Obey the law.
@takfam07 You're right I read the wrong stat. Sorry the whites are about 224 million rounded and they have 85 million on welfare rounded. Wrong again post civil war blacks created black towns and had some of the most productive areas in the USA. Look up black wallstreet. However, white people destroyed the towns and set up laws preventing blacks from economic gains beyond individual achievement. Chalking up black poverty to moral character flaws clearly shows a lack of historical knowledge.
@Ryooken 224 million whites, yes. But 85 million whites-- 1/3 of them --on welfare? Doubtful. As for whites destroying black wall street. Why didn't blacks pick themselves up and create it again? If they couldn't recreate it by now, how strong and committed were they in the first place? Read "Up From Slavery" by Booker T. Probably the greatest black American leader thus far. But blacks have forgotten him. He brought whites and blacks together--in Jim Crow Alabama! He was THE MAN.
@takfam07 Sorry nothing doubtful about it. 38% of the people on welfare are white. That would mean that the populations is 85 million rounded up if you want the exact figures I can post them for you. You don't understand do you? How were they going to do that? Do you know how long it took blacks to build up their community from scratch? They didn't just destroy the town they either killed or banished the people. Look at these.
@Ryooken Check your math. Just because 38% of people on welfare are white, doesn't mean that 38% of all whites are on welfare. You follow? As for blacks building up their communities, you're talking about incidents 100 years ago. The Japanese went from post A-bomb destruction to a first-world superpower in 35 years. In our lifetime, "Made in Japan" changed from crap to high quality. Same thing happening in China and Korea. And look at Asian American success. Blacks can do the same.
@takfam07 I am glad you admit that because just because 39% of the people on welfare are black doesn't mean 39% of the black population are on welfare. When did segregation end? Again you are using fuzzy math. Segregation ended around 1970. After segregation the USA in a bid for desegregation destroyed the black communities. Watch this watch?v=6K4ypv9V7vU
@Ryooken Maybe not 39% of blacks on welfare, but it's a LOT higher percentage than any other race. How could it be otherwise, when 49% of all black births in the US are to unwed teen mothers? Ongoing black cultural pathologies are either a tragedy, or they're actually perfectly OK if you're a cultural relativist. If I were black, I'd be ashamed of all this. But I'm not black, so I see the world differently. But if I WERE black, I hope I'd have the wisdom and courage to do like Booker T.
@takfam07 No incorrect what is said is that those that are on welfare the break down is 39% black, 38% white, and the rest is broken down into other groups. So what isn't dealt with is the number of people on welfare. Here is the other problem with your assertions. You think that those getting public assistance aren't working. You forget the working poor in this country. So again your math is screwed.
@Ryooken You know what's ironic? That post-Civil Rights liberalism has done more to keep Black America at the bottom than any KKK Jim Crow system could ever do. A race never gets anywhere without pulling itself up--no exceptions. Booker said no matter what race you are, in the long run people recognize true merit and will reward it. He was right. But blacks have never organized themselves to EARN true cultural success. Equal rights can be "won." But socioeconomic success has to be earned.
@takfam07 Actually it hasn't. Studies clearly show blacks as a group have not moved significantly economically in either era. Studies also show that the level of oppression hasn't changed much during the last 60 years. Even though we suppositely made better gains when in actuality we haven't as a group. That's a fallacious argument any oppressed group does not make gains until that oppression stops. If you don't believe me then why haven't the native Americans taken their country back?
@Ryooken OK, so how to explain Asian American success in the US? They were definitely an oppressed non-white group, which faced institutionalized AND overt racism for more than a century. There was actual legal discrimination of US Asians until the 1960s. How did Asians become so successful--particularly East Asians? They started in this country dirt-poor. No political or economic power whatsoever. Today, East Asians have higher per capita income and education that whites. How?
@takfam07 LOL! I can't believe you don't understand this. When did white people strip Asians of their culture?
Yes, you're right white people oppressed everyone but not to the same degree. You cannot compare one oppressed group with another. Tell me something why is it that blacks are the only group that couldn't immigrate to this country and when they could they were only allowed 1/2 of one percent?
@Ryooken I don't mean to sound callous, but what culture did whites strip that would have given blacks any useful survival skills in the modern technological world? Sub-Saharan Africa hadn't yet discovered the Three Basics-- the wheel, the plow, and writing --before whites arrived in the 15th cent. Look at black Africa today. You either have straight tribal living--mud huts, witchcraft, total subsistence primitivism --or you have dilapidated, violent and disease-ridden shanty towns.
@takfam07 First of all knowledge of self identity. Think about this in order to create a slave you must enslave their minds otherwise you cannot create a servant that would never leave. This is why the Native Americans couldn't be enslaved. They would simply go home. You couldn't take away their identity even though many Europeans tried. I really think you need to learn better history if you believe that subsaharan Africans didn't have technology. That's a myth and a bad one.
@Ryooken It was used to justify the enslavement of Africans. To illustrate my point watch these.
watch?v=pZdyQaTJOOw
watch?v=7b3YK8QMJdg&feature=related
By the way Africans in the subsahara couldn't have been that primative because the Mali Empire conquered lower Europe and kept it from the Dark Ages for 800 years.
@Ryooken Bear in mind that subsahara Africa lived in villages and used the wheel for other things, like pottery. Wagon travel wasn't as feasable because of the dense foiliage and therefore the people traveled by river. Not only was it faster but it was easier to sell goods and have access to the other kingdoms of Africa. Each kingdom was different, so they developed different means of travel, and different means of everything.
@Ryooken While many African kingdoms had the written word, books were not always available because of the climate, and the nature of the trees in many places so Africans created human repositories, much like the Chinese and Japanese oral traditions. Think about it, you had someone who could recite the entire history of a nation from memory and you think that's primative. Oh my you really need a better education. If I were you I would study Africa and learn of it's diversity.
@Ryooken I don't recall Chinese and Japanese having impressive oral traditions, but Hawaiians do. Yes, I read all about the griots of West Africa. What disappointed me was the whole myth Alex Haley fabricated about Kunta Kinte. I was totally into Roots when it came out and read his book at least 3x. The griot part at the end was the climax--but later I find out it didn't happen! WTF! No oral record of Kunta being caught by the white "patyrollers" while looking for wood for his drum.
@takfam07 Oh they did. In fact, Japan didn't have a writting system until 10th century AD. They took the Chinese system of writing and created two others in the 17th and 19th centuries. I won't speak on Alex Haley but I will say that in Africa much of what you have been taught was fabricated by white supremacists to keep the truth from coming out.
@Ryooken Speaking of Japanese--good example of an economic/cultural model for blacks, no? Japanese were very primitive when China was at its peak. So they sent goodwill envoys to China and Korea to learn all they could. When the Europeans came, they did the same. They borrowed and adapted the best systems and technologies, without losing their unique essence and identity. Something in their culture lets them do this effectively. There's nothing lost and everything gained in this approach.
@takfam07 Whether Japan was primative during China's rise to power isn't relevant to the discussion. Japan wasn't primative at the time and neither was Africa. In the 15th century when Europeans dealt with Africa they were equals in every way except the production of guns. Europeans were really the only ones that developed them and they are a better example of China and a more primative culture. Europeans stole the secret of most of the technology from China and used it to create weapons.
@Ryooken Yes, mental enslavement, whether you recognize it or not, still haunts many (majority?) blacks today. Can't say about Africa, but certainly in the U.S. The mental conditioning to see the system as insurmountably oppressive, to look to the actions of others for deliverance, to not feel as accountable for one's own actions, or those of your group. Even work ethic severely crippled by slavery-- why labor hard for another's sole gain? Better to fake it to preserve self-dignity. (cont.)
@takfam07 Yes, I am very aware of what the mental enslavement has done to present day African Americans but not in the way you would see it. The black work ethic was neither crippled nor problematic. Think about it this way, without any incentive to do so, since slavery was not a willing partnership by any means, enslaved Africans built this country, through long hours of work while white people partied and held balls and pretended to be aristocrates.
@Ryooken However, it suits white people's purpose to propogate the myth of the lazy slave. In fact, the black work ethic was so strong that 40% of the US patents were created by black people and that's at a time when they were oppressed in far greater ways than in today's market.
@Ryooken (cont). Why aren't blacks insistently correcting each other at the pathologies of their culture? Gang violence, welfare, fatherless households, unwed teen births, etc? I come from a culture where the first line of correction is from within the culture itself. Why do blacks simply turn the other way at the dysfunctional stuff, which is excessive enough to define the race? Why don't you hear about "armies" of responsible blacks going into the inner cities and turning things around?
@takfam07 "Why aren't blacks insistently correcting each other at the pathologies of their culture? Gang violence, welfare, fatherless households, unwed teen births, etc? " All these problems affect both the black and white community equally. So it's not a black thing alone. You really didn't look at the video I posted did you? Otherwise if you had then you would not be asking these questions. Oh well then let me be blunt.
@Ryooken During the 1970s the resources that blacks had because of segregation from black businesses to black communities centers were destroyed as a product of desegregation. Instead of the government funding these industries like all the other minority groups, they destroyed them thus forcing blacks to use white run establishments for their own purposes.
@Ryooken Welfare was designed to keep people poor, you had two choices either take welfare and barely make a living or get starvation wages without public assistance. Welfare was used as much of a punishment as it was a benefit. Men who worked to make a bare minimum could barely support their familes, had to give up their jobs in order to make a living because the household income was greater on welfare.
@Ryooken The system created was an either or instead of public assistance being used as a tool for as needed assistance. Even gifts from friends and family was looked at as currency. Thus this kept you from economic prosperity. This was done by design. To make matters worse the government stopped funding things like community centers and programs so that parents who did work 2 and 3 jobs to make up for lack of income and couldn't be home, had some place safe to send their children to.
@Ryooken This swelled the gang population. Let's be clear we have always had gangs in this country both blacks and white but you only hear about the black gangs. Why is that? Anyway I digress. Children with too much time on their hands and no place to go found other ways to amuse themselves. Then the government decided through two deals with organized crime and various CIA operations put drugs into the black community and sold them not to adults but to children.
@Ryooken This created a devistating effect of black neighborhoods. For self protection black youth sought guns in the 1980s when they found themselves out matched by rival gangs. Who sold them the guns? Again the CIA sold military weapons to black youth. Ronald Reagon's response to this was to build bigger prisons. Funny how the president got involved in the drug problem especially when he was part of it, one example of this was the Iran contra scandal.
@Ryooken So in answers to your question why blacks didn't protect themselves from all of this? I will answer this question with a question, how do you fight the federal state and local government when they are undermining your community at it's core?
The USA has taken African-American identity replaced it with slavery, segregation, poverty, drug addiction, false imprisonment, racial profiling, and everything else and we have still managed to produce the first black president.
@Ryooken What does that tell you about our work ethic. Dispite adversity we are still rising. We have contributed everything to this country and not always willingly but 1/3rd of US technology is atributed to us. Yes, there are social problems but they are in every community but we get dragged out as being culturally inferior when the white community who is in power has things like Colunmbine.
@Ryooken Okay if blacks are culturally inferior, then what does it say about a people who stole this country from the native Americans, kidnapped raped and enslaved two continents to promote safety and security for themselvse, then did everything in their power to keep non-whites from having any degree of power for themselves, then claim that it's all their fault. Who's fault is it really? Blacks don't bring in their own guns, drugs etc. Yet they are to blame. Wow!
@Ryooken OK. (Whew*). I appreciate your impassioned and well-articulated perspective on why blacks worldwide--but particularly in the US--are where they are today. We're not going to agree on a lot of things, and that's cool. Just keep in mind that I was very much in your camp for a long time--all the things you outline, that's what I took for granted as truth. I studied this as a grad student, and yours was the only acceptable position in liberal academia--and I never questioned it. (cont).
@takfam07 I am sorry but I am not being impassioned I am being blunt. Believe me when I become impassioned you will know. As far as it being liberal or accepted position again we are talking about what happened and since I was living at the time I think I would know.
@Ryooken (cont). Toward the end of my graduate work, which included some field research, I realized that no matter what historical excuses anyone can make--as a whole, blacks simply think and behave deficiently. Like Booker T. said, you have to address black civilizational dysfunctionalities first and foremost, because they are the primary root of black problems. THEN you can focus on changing laws. However, US discrimination laws in the 1960s-70s DID go through a wholesale change. (cont).
@Ryooken (cont). The Kerner Commission report was the turning point. This is where you and 99.99% of other blacks-- and still a good amount of liberal whites --are on the matter. To me, this is why blacks have grown even worse as a culture since the bad old days of Slavery/Segregation. Blaming whites for the present condition of blacks was the worst thing possible for blacks. And for this country as a whole. Because no matter what, a race cannot look to others for its redemption. (cont).
@Ryooken (cont). No matter what, a race will never mature and develop unless it takes 100% accountability for its actions. Guns and drugs in the 'hood are the fault of whites? What, blacks have no free will? You can stock guns and drugs in white and Asian communities, and a crack/murder problem won't suddenly arise. The maturity of the black race will be a glorious thing to see, but they simply have to do it themselves. It has to come from within, through wholesale cultural change. (cont).
@Ryooken Also, blacks must develop the habit of assessing their culture with objectivity and truth. It's understandable to exaggerate good points and minimize bad ones--every culture does that. But blacks must embrace and sustain an ongoing lucid, critical view of their culture if they want to move up the socioeconomic ladder as a group. They never seem willing or able to do this, because liberal largesse assures them that their plight is all society's fault, not their own making. (cont).
@Ryooken (cont). One way to mentally test my assumption is this. Imagine if tomorrow, all 38 million blacks in America were avatars, controlled by the brains of East Asian-Americans (Chinese Korean, Japanese). And this continued for the next 30 years. Now, do you think past and present black pathologies and perpetual underperformance would continue? According to you, they would--it would make no difference whatsoever, because black will and effort is irrelevant to their outcomes. (cont)
@Ryooken (cont). But to me, if tomorrow and for the next 30 years all blacks were "avatars" controlled by East Asian-American brains, blacks would immediately start to progress by leaps and bounds. The first thing the "asian-brained blacks" would do is jump all over affirmative action, esp. college admissions. They would clean up their ghettoes, make them safe and livable-- and at what a price! In short, black "problems" would disappear rapidly. It would be black success without precedent.
@takfam07 Every European country or state didn't have written language until they were conquered by someone who did. Examples of ancient written Sub-Saharan languages are Nbisidi, Old Nubian and Merotic Script. Now go look them up. White historians, anthropologists and Egyptologists were NOT immune to the notions of White Supremacy/Racism. Do you know how many millions of Asians live in caves today??? How much poverty is still in Asia??? Africa is the birthplace of mono-theism, GDAY!!!
@THEMONITOR72 Writing important but not required for building a civilization. Incas and Aztecs illiterate save for a few rope-twisting signs. However, yes--history might be written by the winners--only if they have writing. Asian cave dwellers are mostly Southeast Asian. BIG differences culturally/racially between East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian), SE Asian (Vietnamese, Laotian, Malay, Filipinos, etc). And South Asian (Indians, Burmese, Bhutanese, etc).
@takfam07 No written language was 1 of 3 things you said Sub-Saharan African's DIDN'T have I proved you WRONG. I can debunk the other 2 so called "requirements" to have culture. But who cares??? About those cave-dwellers they're still Asians are they not??? You do realize the same differences in geographic populations ie: culture, appearance, language, etc. EXIST on the continent of Africa??? Ex.) Bantu, Zulu, Nubian,Cushitic, etc. You are misinformed or just an all out liar, which is it???
@THEMONITOR72 How many Asians live in caves? It's immaterial. East Asia has become a first-world region. Asian Americans are the non-white Horatio Alger success story, proving that racism is not an insurmountable barrier in achieving the American Dream. They arrive dirt-poor, with no political or financial power. But they work hard, save and invest, support each other, and the kids achieve brilliantly in school. They always escape poverty after only one generation. How do they do it?
@Ryooken East Asians were too strong and unified for whites to strip them of their cultures. But they were smart and resourceful enough to Westernize. For example, Japanese--when the US forced Japan's doors open in 1853, they were still feudal people. But they rapidly modernized and industrialized from then on. In 50 years, they became the world's first non-white modern superpower. But no one thinks Asians are "inauthentic," do they? Blacks could study and emulate Asian models of success.
@Ryooken Whites decided to go easy on Asians compared to blacks-- why, because Asians have lighter skin? LOL! Ridiculous, my friend. Whites had to respect Asians, because our cultures were advanced. Whites had the upper hand technologically and militarily, but they had to have a level of respect for Asians--not utter contempt. In contrast, blacks were still almost Stone Age. Blacks had much less that whites felt compelled to respect. Plus, blacks were selling their own people into slavery.
@THEMONITOR72 I can buy your stat about African immigrants having more college degrees than other immigrant groups. But income? Highly doubtful, unless they're the relatives of the murderous strongman dictators who rob their countries of all foreign aid and raw material export income to line their Swiss bank accounts with. Nonetheless, I hope your stats are true. I think I told you before--at Harvard, my student researchers were all African undergrads. Best and brightest from Africa.
@takfam07 They feed off of Blacks, by opening up their shops in the ghettos. In other words they leech from our communities. They have always remained under the radar by having Blacks and Hispanics around. They have a culture that is xenophobic to say the least.
@THEMONITOR72 Feeding off blacks? Then why don't BLACKS open up their own shops in the ghettos? Can't you see the grave difference between a successful culture and a dependent, angry one? Remember the Million Man March? At Harvard, all my black male friends went, black women giving them care packages as they boarded the buses from Cambridge to DC. What do they find lining the streets of their "March"? Scores of Korean and Vietnamese selling "Million Man March" merchandise, food and drinks!
@takfam07 With the "gift" of white skin, why are so many of you on the system??? What advantage OTHER than "assigned privilege" does your genetics give you that Black people don't have???
@THEMONITOR72 I have no skin advantage. 100% Asian, not a drop of white blood in me. The "advantage" I'm grateful for was growing up in a Japanese American family and community, and the values identified with that culture. We faced heavy racism-- institutionalized as well as in-your-face personal. In fact, we were Public Enemy #1 during WWII, all our property confiscated. Had to start all over. But we're financially even stronger today. Coincidentally, we did exactly what Booker T said.
@Ryooken Blacks are in no position to feel disgust over white privilege, since they depend on the modern world whites basically created Give credit where due. Asians have proven themselves up to the mark in contributing to this world, even being a leader in it. But blacks have contributed very little outside of sports and entertainment. They rely on government too much, and look to others for their salvation. Unchanged post-slavery thinking. Blacks should've followed Booker T. Washington.
@takfam07 That's very interesting. Yes, let's give credit where credit is due. Blacks in the USA have been the most oppressed people in this country but most of the money that is made was stolen by whites using black genius. Black inventions, black music, black sports, all used by white people. So yes, we should be disgusted by theft of any form particularly when white people didn't make this country on their own they stole it and used others to build it up.

The video is speaking on African-on-African slavery. It doesn't seem to mention Arab (Islamic) slavery of Africans, which was cruel also, but not quite to the extent of that ushered in by the Europeans. :-)

I agree with you, they don't believe this shit either. Get out of this country and let the white people have a safe , quiet & CLEAN place to live.

Of course whites think their better then everyone else. I'm white and I sure as heck don't believe I'm better then everyone else. We wouldn't have this problem if we allowed Blacks to come to America of their own free will. What' so freaking wrong with that? CAN ANYONE ANSWER THAT?
BastSekhmetMut 2 months ago

"white supremacy is a social construction"
A social construction EXISTS socially. Does class or occupation not exist?
"So you don't think white supremacy is a myth then?"
I am asking YOUR opinion not expressing MINE.
"clearly you do have something against …"
'Something against' implies hatred to you?
All these points illustrates what is at the heart of your problem: an inability to properly deal with semantic meaning without internal distortion.
CeltoSaxonKnight 6 months ago
@NativeSupport You are truly an open minded world citizen. If only more people could follow your example.

@NativeSupport Trust me, friend. I have friends of many races. I'm not a white hater. However; I do enjoy debating people like CeltoSaxonKnight.

@NativeSupport
CeltoSaxonKnight 6 months ago
@NativeSupport
(cont'd)
CeltoSaxonKnight 6 months ago
@NativeSupport

LadySwag502 6 months ago
@LadySwag502

My last response was in answer to your question to Native Support: "Whom did I accuse of being a white-hater?" Negroids living in the USA & Europe today are living in societies set up by & for white people.

LadySwag502 6 months ago
@LadySwag502
You certainly didn't 'base' it on my first sentence... You may have been 'responding' to my first sentence, but since I was talking about societies & not physical land then, again, I don't see the relevance.

Some stories say that the Aztecs welcomed Cortez as the returning Quetzalcoatl, & actively aided the Spanish – even giving Cortez the throne...
CeltoSaxonKnight 6 months ago
@CeltoSaxonKnight let's skip the trivial technicalities and get to the bottom line: Native Americans were slaughtered, swindled, and herded for their land. Did you think such tragedies as the "Trail of Tears" are merely fictitious? Do you doubt the Louisiana Purchase actually happened? Many Native tribes have been wiped out. Others have been all but annihilated. Their collective heritage and cultures were stamped out for greed...and that same level of greed runs rampant today.
LadySwag502 6 months ago

You know in 10,000 BC the Ug-Ugs invaded the Urgh-Urgh's cave & took a big shiny stone...
Why aren't you harassing Jews about slaughtering Palestinians & taking their lands? That is an injustice going on today with victims suffering right now! Or better still why not show YOU have no ethnic bias & speak out against the sickening brutal murders of white South Africans by blacks!
CeltoSaxonKnight 6 months ago
@CeltoSaxonKnight LMAO, let's stick to American history. Don't deflect the topic, stick to the point. I'm not harassing you. YOU said "Negroids living in the USA & Europe today are living in societies set up by white people, but you won't even acknowledge the events that led up to it! Events that all but wiped out the population of Native Americans. Whether you choose to admit it or not, IT STILL HAPPENED! I have nothing against any race of people but the TRUTH is the TRUTH!
LadySwag502 6 months ago
@LadySwag502
CeltoSaxonKnight 6 months ago
@CeltoSaxonKnight Why stick to American History? Because of the first sentence of your comment! What reason would you have for not admitting the devastation of the Natives? I never strayed off topic. In fact, I only reiterated what happen before the event you spoke of. It's truly not that difficult to understand. We all are living on stolen land.
LadySwag502 6 months ago
@CeltoSaxonKnight The topic of this video is not white supremacy, it's about crushing white supremacy. There IS a difference, you know!

- 13% of population, but own 20% of small businesses in the US
- 13% of population, but black students are 22% of US National Merit Scholars
- 13% of population, but blacks only collect 6% of total US welfare
- 13% of population, but 9% of arrests in the US
- 13% of population, but 19% of scientists and mathematicians in the US
- 82% of black households headed by two parents
This will take BLACK effort--nothing less. So be not afraid, go for it!

what the state of the WORLD would be like?? GDAY!!!
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@THEMONITOR72 Do you really believe blacks today are held down by whites, as the reason for ongoing black failure? THe OPPOSITE is the truth. If welfare, subsidized housing, affirmative action, and all other mandated special privileges for blacks (which are granted by liberal whites) ended today--guess what would happen? The US would quickly look like South Africa: Neat, healthy white suburbs protected by razor barbed wire, with dilapidated, cholera-infected black shantytowns next door.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 You don't say??? I pity we'll probably NEVER find out, hunh???
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@takfam07 First of all wel-fare isn't a special privilege for blacks since there are more people that are white on wel-fare than blacks. Affirmative action isn't a special privilege for blacks either because the largest recipients of wel-fare are white women. The fact is that you are angry because you perceive blacks as getting special privileges but you cannot understand the disgust that blacks feel over white privilege. Funny that.
Ryooken 7 months ago 2
@Ryooken Actually, blacks collect about the same amount of welfare as whites. The figures vary year to year, each group collecting between 35-38% of total welfare distributed in the U.S. But remember-- there are 5x as many whites as blacks! THAT'S the salient figure. Re. white women and AA, that's because AA is an automatic entitlement (i.e., you don't "apply" for it)--and white women are 33% of the total US pop. And on the SAT exam, it literally asks: "If you are BLACK, check here."
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Actually they don't blacks are 38 million people living and working in the USA. Whites are almost 635 million. Blacks have a little over 14 million on welfare where as whites have over 241 million people on welfare. Blacks got their poverty because of racism and the aftermath of slavery, segregation and other forms of oppression inflicted on them by white people. White people are on welfare why? That doesn't include welfare for the rich white people for bail outs etc.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken You'd better check your stats again. 635 million whites? The TOTAL population of the U.S. is 300 million, last time I checked! But you are correct about one thing: there about 38 million blacks, of which about 14 million are on welfare. A little more than a third of blacks on welfare-- that seems about right. But you are wrong, black poverty was not the result of slavery, oppression and segregation. It is the ongoing result of flawed black values, attitude, beliefs and behaviors.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 In a society that assigns privileges thru racial stratification Blacks will ALWAYS remain at the bottom. In the early part of the 20th century, Italian and Eastern European immigrants to the U.S. ranked around what is currently the black average for IQ scores and now that they've been accepted as fully white in this society, their IQ scores are the same as the other white groups; 100%. So, what happened in that time to make Italian and Eastern Europeans so intelligent?
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@THEMONITOR72 Wow, that mindset of believing in discrimination as the sole cause of black problems is the most damaging element for blacks today. It's almost poignant that blacks prefer to think this way, in the face of contrary evidence--because it's safe. Like Linus and his security blanket-- the security blanket of racism. Because a real "level playing field" can be very frightening--the unknown, like freedom in 1865. It means others are no longer responsible for one's failure. (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Right, "freedom' that did NOT prevent mobs from lynching Blacks without jurisprudence. Freedom that did not allow Blacks to vote and to participate viably in politics and the like. Again because you are Asian thru this system of racial stratification you remain higher on the "totem pole" than Blacks. GDAY!!!
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@THEMONITOR72 (cont) As for IQ, language acquisition and increased education probably upped the scores. My immigrant Asian ancestors probably scored lower than their grandchildren. But their generation still achieved success--heroic success, given racism and cultural barriers --despite grade-school-only educations. Improved scores have to do with assimilation, but mainly education as a cultural value. Ever notice there's a 100% correlation between cultural values, IQ, and economic success?
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 America has a "cultural value" that maligns and marginalizes Black folks. So yes I see the correlation. Again I NEVER stated Blacks don't have anything to change in our communities. That is what you believe is inferred when I, criticize this country. Though I continue to tell you otherwise, you believe what you want. That is what I've come to expect from people like you. The little rights we have come from my people complaining about this country. GDAY!!!
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago

GDAY!!!
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@THEMONITOR72 No, I know why THEY (West, Gates, et al) don't go into the inner cities and change the culture from within. Because they have a vested interest in blacks staying ignorant, dependent, and angry. They're the "race hustlers," the middlemen who get rich by playing off white guilt and black entitlement. Now-- why YOU and other responsible blacks don't form civic coalitions to fix the inner cities? Mostly fear. You'd get ostracized, maybe physically harmed. So it's understandable.

@takfam07 If they are race hustlers then you are a race junkie.
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@THEMONITOR72 We're all race junkies, that's why we're here. And you still haven't answered my question: why aren't there civic coalitions of responsible blacks going in to fix the inner cities? If I woke up tomorrow and discovered I'd turned into a black person overnight, that's exactly what I'd do. Like Booker T. experienced directly over 100 years ago-- such a black-led self-help movement would be guaranteed to generate MILLIONS in funding support from well-meaning, rich whites.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Pan-Africanism, Marcus Garvey, Harlem Renaissance, Black Panther Party, Civil Rights, or Hip-Hop??? All MOVEMENTS started by Blacks!!! Later co-opted, derailed or infiltrated by racist Whites and Blacks who support the White Supremacist/Racism notions. GDAY!!!
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago

@THEMONITOR72 We weren't enslaved, but indentured servitude on the railroads wasn't exactly country-clubbing, nor was contract labor on the Hawaii plantations and California orchards. And when WWII hit, my family was forcibly interned for 4 years, lost all their property and capital assets. Our constitutional rights were stripped--racism? Yet my uncles volunteered and fought gallantly for the US in Europe and the Pacific. Leveraged war heroism and the GI Bill to rebuild and prosper. (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 We couldn't get a GI bill at that time. Starting from the bottom is more difficult than from the middle.
THEMONITOR72 7 months ago
@THEMONITOR72 You're saying blacks had less access to the GI Bill than Japanese Americans--who were just removed from their property and officially deemed public enemy #1? And what middle? We started from rock bottom in this country. No money, no education, no political power--non-white. There's always an excuse. I know that deep down, intelligent blacks must secretly think: "there's gotta be something wrong with the way black people play the hand they're dealt."
takfam07 7 months ago

Obey the law.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 You're right I read the wrong stat. Sorry the whites are about 224 million rounded and they have 85 million on welfare rounded. Wrong again post civil war blacks created black towns and had some of the most productive areas in the USA. Look up black wallstreet. However, white people destroyed the towns and set up laws preventing blacks from economic gains beyond individual achievement. Chalking up black poverty to moral character flaws clearly shows a lack of historical knowledge.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken 224 million whites, yes. But 85 million whites-- 1/3 of them --on welfare? Doubtful. As for whites destroying black wall street. Why didn't blacks pick themselves up and create it again? If they couldn't recreate it by now, how strong and committed were they in the first place? Read "Up From Slavery" by Booker T. Probably the greatest black American leader thus far. But blacks have forgotten him. He brought whites and blacks together--in Jim Crow Alabama! He was THE MAN.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Sorry nothing doubtful about it. 38% of the people on welfare are white. That would mean that the populations is 85 million rounded up if you want the exact figures I can post them for you. You don't understand do you? How were they going to do that? Do you know how long it took blacks to build up their community from scratch? They didn't just destroy the town they either killed or banished the people. Look at these.

Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Check your math. Just because 38% of people on welfare are white, doesn't mean that 38% of all whites are on welfare. You follow? As for blacks building up their communities, you're talking about incidents 100 years ago. The Japanese went from post A-bomb destruction to a first-world superpower in 35 years. In our lifetime, "Made in Japan" changed from crap to high quality. Same thing happening in China and Korea. And look at Asian American success. Blacks can do the same.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 I am glad you admit that because just because 39% of the people on welfare are black doesn't mean 39% of the black population are on welfare. When did segregation end? Again you are using fuzzy math. Segregation ended around 1970. After segregation the USA in a bid for desegregation destroyed the black communities. Watch this watch?v=6K4ypv9V7vU
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Maybe not 39% of blacks on welfare, but it's a LOT higher percentage than any other race. How could it be otherwise, when 49% of all black births in the US are to unwed teen mothers? Ongoing black cultural pathologies are either a tragedy, or they're actually perfectly OK if you're a cultural relativist. If I were black, I'd be ashamed of all this. But I'm not black, so I see the world differently. But if I WERE black, I hope I'd have the wisdom and courage to do like Booker T.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 No incorrect what is said is that those that are on welfare the break down is 39% black, 38% white, and the rest is broken down into other groups. So what isn't dealt with is the number of people on welfare. Here is the other problem with your assertions. You think that those getting public assistance aren't working. You forget the working poor in this country. So again your math is screwed.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken You know what's ironic? That post-Civil Rights liberalism has done more to keep Black America at the bottom than any KKK Jim Crow system could ever do. A race never gets anywhere without pulling itself up--no exceptions. Booker said no matter what race you are, in the long run people recognize true merit and will reward it. He was right. But blacks have never organized themselves to EARN true cultural success. Equal rights can be "won." But socioeconomic success has to be earned.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Actually it hasn't. Studies clearly show blacks as a group have not moved significantly economically in either era. Studies also show that the level of oppression hasn't changed much during the last 60 years. Even though we suppositely made better gains when in actuality we haven't as a group. That's a fallacious argument any oppressed group does not make gains until that oppression stops. If you don't believe me then why haven't the native Americans taken their country back?
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken OK, so how to explain Asian American success in the US? They were definitely an oppressed non-white group, which faced institutionalized AND overt racism for more than a century. There was actual legal discrimination of US Asians until the 1960s. How did Asians become so successful--particularly East Asians? They started in this country dirt-poor. No political or economic power whatsoever. Today, East Asians have higher per capita income and education that whites. How?
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 LOL! I can't believe you don't understand this. When did white people strip Asians of their culture?
Yes, you're right white people oppressed everyone but not to the same degree. You cannot compare one oppressed group with another. Tell me something why is it that blacks are the only group that couldn't immigrate to this country and when they could they were only allowed 1/2 of one percent?
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken I don't mean to sound callous, but what culture did whites strip that would have given blacks any useful survival skills in the modern technological world? Sub-Saharan Africa hadn't yet discovered the Three Basics-- the wheel, the plow, and writing --before whites arrived in the 15th cent. Look at black Africa today. You either have straight tribal living--mud huts, witchcraft, total subsistence primitivism --or you have dilapidated, violent and disease-ridden shanty towns.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 First of all knowledge of self identity. Think about this in order to create a slave you must enslave their minds otherwise you cannot create a servant that would never leave. This is why the Native Americans couldn't be enslaved. They would simply go home. You couldn't take away their identity even though many Europeans tried. I really think you need to learn better history if you believe that subsaharan Africans didn't have technology. That's a myth and a bad one.

watch?v=pZdyQaTJOOw

By the way Africans in the subsahara couldn't have been that primative because the Mali Empire conquered lower Europe and kept it from the Dark Ages for 800 years.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Bear in mind that subsahara Africa lived in villages and used the wheel for other things, like pottery. Wagon travel wasn't as feasable because of the dense foiliage and therefore the people traveled by river. Not only was it faster but it was easier to sell goods and have access to the other kingdoms of Africa. Each kingdom was different, so they developed different means of travel, and different means of everything.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken While many African kingdoms had the written word, books were not always available because of the climate, and the nature of the trees in many places so Africans created human repositories, much like the Chinese and Japanese oral traditions. Think about it, you had someone who could recite the entire history of a nation from memory and you think that's primative. Oh my you really need a better education. If I were you I would study Africa and learn of it's diversity.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken I don't recall Chinese and Japanese having impressive oral traditions, but Hawaiians do. Yes, I read all about the griots of West Africa. What disappointed me was the whole myth Alex Haley fabricated about Kunta Kinte. I was totally into Roots when it came out and read his book at least 3x. The griot part at the end was the climax--but later I find out it didn't happen! WTF! No oral record of Kunta being caught by the white "patyrollers" while looking for wood for his drum.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Oh they did. In fact, Japan didn't have a writting system until 10th century AD. They took the Chinese system of writing and created two others in the 17th and 19th centuries. I won't speak on Alex Haley but I will say that in Africa much of what you have been taught was fabricated by white supremacists to keep the truth from coming out.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Speaking of Japanese--good example of an economic/cultural model for blacks, no? Japanese were very primitive when China was at its peak. So they sent goodwill envoys to China and Korea to learn all they could. When the Europeans came, they did the same. They borrowed and adapted the best systems and technologies, without losing their unique essence and identity. Something in their culture lets them do this effectively. There's nothing lost and everything gained in this approach.
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Whether Japan was primative during China's rise to power isn't relevant to the discussion. Japan wasn't primative at the time and neither was Africa. In the 15th century when Europeans dealt with Africa they were equals in every way except the production of guns. Europeans were really the only ones that developed them and they are a better example of China and a more primative culture. Europeans stole the secret of most of the technology from China and used it to create weapons.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Yes, mental enslavement, whether you recognize it or not, still haunts many (majority?) blacks today. Can't say about Africa, but certainly in the U.S. The mental conditioning to see the system as insurmountably oppressive, to look to the actions of others for deliverance, to not feel as accountable for one's own actions, or those of your group. Even work ethic severely crippled by slavery-- why labor hard for another's sole gain? Better to fake it to preserve self-dignity. (cont.)
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 Yes, I am very aware of what the mental enslavement has done to present day African Americans but not in the way you would see it. The black work ethic was neither crippled nor problematic. Think about it this way, without any incentive to do so, since slavery was not a willing partnership by any means, enslaved Africans built this country, through long hours of work while white people partied and held balls and pretended to be aristocrates.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken However, it suits white people's purpose to propogate the myth of the lazy slave. In fact, the black work ethic was so strong that 40% of the US patents were created by black people and that's at a time when they were oppressed in far greater ways than in today's market.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken (cont). Why aren't blacks insistently correcting each other at the pathologies of their culture? Gang violence, welfare, fatherless households, unwed teen births, etc? I come from a culture where the first line of correction is from within the culture itself. Why do blacks simply turn the other way at the dysfunctional stuff, which is excessive enough to define the race? Why don't you hear about "armies" of responsible blacks going into the inner cities and turning things around?
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 "Why aren't blacks insistently correcting each other at the pathologies of their culture? Gang violence, welfare, fatherless households, unwed teen births, etc? " All these problems affect both the black and white community equally. So it's not a black thing alone. You really didn't look at the video I posted did you? Otherwise if you had then you would not be asking these questions. Oh well then let me be blunt.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken During the 1970s the resources that blacks had because of segregation from black businesses to black communities centers were destroyed as a product of desegregation. Instead of the government funding these industries like all the other minority groups, they destroyed them thus forcing blacks to use white run establishments for their own purposes.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Welfare was designed to keep people poor, you had two choices either take welfare and barely make a living or get starvation wages without public assistance. Welfare was used as much of a punishment as it was a benefit. Men who worked to make a bare minimum could barely support their familes, had to give up their jobs in order to make a living because the household income was greater on welfare.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken The system created was an either or instead of public assistance being used as a tool for as needed assistance. Even gifts from friends and family was looked at as currency. Thus this kept you from economic prosperity. This was done by design. To make matters worse the government stopped funding things like community centers and programs so that parents who did work 2 and 3 jobs to make up for lack of income and couldn't be home, had some place safe to send their children to.
cont.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken This swelled the gang population. Let's be clear we have always had gangs in this country both blacks and white but you only hear about the black gangs. Why is that? Anyway I digress. Children with too much time on their hands and no place to go found other ways to amuse themselves. Then the government decided through two deals with organized crime and various CIA operations put drugs into the black community and sold them not to adults but to children.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken This created a devistating effect of black neighborhoods. For self protection black youth sought guns in the 1980s when they found themselves out matched by rival gangs. Who sold them the guns? Again the CIA sold military weapons to black youth. Ronald Reagon's response to this was to build bigger prisons. Funny how the president got involved in the drug problem especially when he was part of it, one example of this was the Iran contra scandal.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken So in answers to your question why blacks didn't protect themselves from all of this? I will answer this question with a question, how do you fight the federal state and local government when they are undermining your community at it's core?
The USA has taken African-American identity replaced it with slavery, segregation, poverty, drug addiction, false imprisonment, racial profiling, and everything else and we have still managed to produce the first black president.

Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken What does that tell you about our work ethic. Dispite adversity we are still rising. We have contributed everything to this country and not always willingly but 1/3rd of US technology is atributed to us. Yes, there are social problems but they are in every community but we get dragged out as being culturally inferior when the white community who is in power has things like Colunmbine.
continued
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken Okay if blacks are culturally inferior, then what does it say about a people who stole this country from the native Americans, kidnapped raped and enslaved two continents to promote safety and security for themselvse, then did everything in their power to keep non-whites from having any degree of power for themselves, then claim that it's all their fault. Who's fault is it really? Blacks don't bring in their own guns, drugs etc. Yet they are to blame. Wow!
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken OK. (Whew*). I appreciate your impassioned and well-articulated perspective on why blacks worldwide--but particularly in the US--are where they are today. We're not going to agree on a lot of things, and that's cool. Just keep in mind that I was very much in your camp for a long time--all the things you outline, that's what I took for granted as truth. I studied this as a grad student, and yours was the only acceptable position in liberal academia--and I never questioned it. (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 I am sorry but I am not being impassioned I am being blunt. Believe me when I become impassioned you will know. As far as it being liberal or accepted position again we are talking about what happened and since I was living at the time I think I would know.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken (cont). (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@Ryooken (cont). The Kerner Commission report was the turning point. This is where you and 99.99% of other blacks-- and still a good amount of liberal whites --are on the matter. To me, this is why blacks have grown even worse as a culture since the bad old days of Slavery/Segregation. Blaming whites for the present condition of blacks was the worst thing possible for blacks. And for this country as a whole. Because no matter what, a race cannot look to others for its redemption. (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@takfam07 I will answer the rest of this tomorrow. I am in a bit of a rush today.
Ryooken 7 months ago
@Ryooken (cont). (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@Ryooken Also, blacks must develop the habit of assessing their culture with objectivity and truth. It's understandable to exaggerate good points and minimize bad ones--every culture does that. But blacks must embrace and sustain an ongoing lucid, critical view of their culture if they want to move up the socioeconomic ladder as a group. They never seem willing or able to do this, because liberal largesse assures them that their plight is all society's fault, not their own making. (cont).
takfam07 7 months ago
@Ryooken (cont). (cont)
takfam07 7 months ago
@Ryooken (cont).

How do they do it?
takfam07 7 months ago

@takfam07 "East Asians have higher per capita income and education that whites."
So do African immigrants, in fact they LEAD all groups INCLUDING Asians. Why is that???

@THEMONITOR72 I can buy your stat about African immigrants having more college degrees than other immigrant groups. But income? Highly doubtful, unless they're the relatives of the murderous strongman dictators who rob their countries of all foreign aid and raw material export income to line their Swiss bank accounts with. Nonetheless, I hope your stats are true. I think I told you before--at Harvard, my student researchers were all African undergrads. Best and brightest from Africa.

@takfam07 Of course that didn't include income in such a racist society are you kidding??? (Rhetorical)

THEMONITOR72 7 months ago

@Ryooken Sorry typo and ran out of room. Blacks have been the most oppressed in this country barring the Native Americans.
