  • yes V8s are fun and have ALOT more potential for higher performance but at the end of the day i built a 11 second integra in my driveway for under 5k and still get 35mpg. I love V8s but ill keep my 4 banger for driving around town......not all hondas are RICERS. alot of them are cuz they are owned by mexicans and they think flame and ttribal stickers add hp.

    yeah ok under 5k. you took a heavy ass piece of shit and made it run 11s. you realize what it takes to run 11s from a honda? a buddy of mine had a civic hatch built motor and turbo, the car started off running low 11s and is now running mid 10s but has over 20 grand invested in it. i guess if you cut out every inch of metal you may get it to touch 12s but even a basic motor swap is gonna cost you 5 grand.

  • @DCismyinitals i dont know man. 351s make 50 more hp than 5.0s with the mustangs cpu and cam i would think it would be even more. heads and cams is a good way to go to but you can always add the heads and cam on the 351 too.

  • @turblown94 Iv had all three and I can honestly say the Talon was the most fun and the fastest car I have owned. The Talon has issues though, but if your buying a $6,000 Mustang, your not going to get much of a car, but if you spent that on a Talon you might have the fastest car around.

  • @blakasassin1 You're always going to have the best launch with AWD. At least under 1,000hp, you will. At some point, big ass tires on RWD = more traction. But...I have a DSM, TSi AWD, and honestly, it beats the 4.6, and the 5.0, completely stock with boost raised to 15lbs from 12. And as for VR4, you must be talking about the 3000GT Twin turbo or Stealth TT, only those are V6s. My preference is import. But, it's up to you.

But then when i raced trucks i'd lose so it wasn't enough. So I got a 96 gt, raced a few trucks, won, and then i'd race a v8 car and get whooped. So I bought a 99 cobra, i'd end up beating most v8 cars, but when i'd race a supra, i lose and now thats not enough.... So what I'm saying is "GO BIG OR GO HOME"!!!

So Save some cash and buy into a purpose built car. There is no one car does it all cause it's not practical. You want a drag car, you build a drag car cheap with a 350, nos, and rear gears. You wanna run circuit, buy a 320hp car and gut it. Street car, buy a Cobra/Stang. You wanna go bullrun...... Buy a Lambo!!!

And it dog stomps svt's. We're about to drop a further $700 to turbo the damn thing. Can't wait to do some vette killing. :) Fox bodies are with out a doubt the baddest Mustangs.

  • @blakasassin1 Depends what you wanna do man. VR4 is gunna be tons of fun to play around with, the Mustang would blow peoples doors off, and the talon would be a good sleeper. But it all costs money.

    I'm runnin' a T-70 + P-trim exhaust. Curious what H/C/I You're running also. I've kept mine around 10psi so far to be safe, ran 13 psi a little this past summer - then popped a head gasket. Went cometic + ARP.

  • @turblown94 the octane of the fuel doesn't determine the "explosiveness" of the gasoline itself, its just a myth. the higher the octane the more resistant it is to pre ignition and pinging/detonation :)

  • @gund3rt . everyone knows that you can run more timing with race gas which means more power. So when some one says they make a certain amount of power on pump gas, that means there's room for more power with more octane and timing. But it's cool if you're new to the scene!

  • My block has Speed Pro forged low comp pistons, but stock rods and stock crank.. I also put ARP head studs and rod bolts in it.. That's about it.

  • The turbo is a Garret T67 with a .81 ar housing. Yes you need to upgrade the injectors and fuel pump.. I was running #44 injectors and a 255lph intank pump. In a Fox you can probably get away with running the stock computer like I did but a custom tune will always help..

  • It depends on what you like to drive.. Turbo is move efficient power but you can't get the instant torque like a super charger.. I like driving a turbo car over a supercharged car any day....

  • turbos are more effient at making power b/c they run off the exhaust and not a belt, but it doesnt mean that  with 2 similar cars, 1 with a turbo and the other with a s/c, that the turbo car will be faster.

  • hell no, honestly it's a matter of opinion, but from my own eyes an what i see at races an dragstrips turbo is on top for the v8, you really don't have to worry about lag v8 got torque off jump, and being that SC are belt driven they use Hp to make Hp the benifit is instant speed but it's downfall is it runs outta steam take a look at the vids on here of SC stangs Vs Turboeds supras 90% of those stangs lose, then look at turbo stangs vs turboed supras, 99.99% win, a v8 with turbos kills

  • i got a dude wanting to trade me a garret 78 mm turbo with an intercooler, blowoff valve, and wastegate for my fourwheeler. i had someone tell me that i would have to have alot of motor to make it work. i currently have a 93 coupe with a 5.0 it has 373s shortys and underdrive pulleys. i have ready to install the holley systemax set(heads cam upper & lower intake) also fuel pump all msd ignition and 1.6 frpp roller rockers. n e one know if that be enough?

  • dude thats plenty of motor for a turbo, generally i would just recommend a bigger intake and possibly some heads but you are ahead of the game, then again it all depends on the amount of boost your putting through the engine, reguardless of how built your top end is to help youre low end power, the bottom end of a stock 5.0 can only handle so much be careful with alot of pressure, you can break some shit even crack a block!

  • i would also worry alot more about a trans than the motor, a t5 is pretty vulnerable under boost, and i wont even start to talk about aod's i would look for a c4 cuz its relativley cheap or if youre running a t5 already look into astro preformances gear set and get it rebuilt, the t5 should be good to like 500 horsepower

  • I'm running a Tremmec 3550. If you're going turbo the T5(that is if you're manual) that's in your car now should hold up for a little while if you nice to it. It will still break sooner or later.

  • They do crack but it's more up around 700 horse to the flywheel... I've seen a stock block put down 625 to the wheels and was driven everyday...

  • Picked the turbo up from a friends shop in Arizona. The motor has forged pistons, cam, heads, intake and the turbo kit.
