I've been to Hong Kong twice, but always declined on the idea of going to Macau because I'm not much of a gambler. After watching this, perhaps I should have gone.
Really? Everyone else is amazed by another Chinese copycat of something American? It's like a bigger version of the iPod. Something else the Chinese like to copy. Not counting everything else they copy. The only thing they don't copy is ancient Chinese ceremonies. I figure the Chinese stopped thinking up original ideas about 2,000 years ago.
@hulkhatepunybanner No, they didn't copy something American, they copied something Italian. You probably think that pizzas and French fries are American too
@MrEestimaa Macau is not copying Las Vegas as Macau has had casinos for over 160 years, but Vegas only had legal casinos since the 1930s. Macau was a famous gambling destination long before Las Vegas, it was originally called the Monte Carlo of the Orient.
An argument could be made that China reached its peak in the T'ang and has stagnated since the fall of the Ming, however. This wasn't 2000 years ago, though.
great video, russ ! just enough tongue in cheek to do justice to both the vegas wannabee glitz and the remnants of portuguese heritage,...while they last.

@hulkhatepunybanner As someone else already said, Italian, not American.

This really dwarfs Las Vegas! Loved the soprano on the gondola.
