Okay, just to all those who DON'T think, yes, massive snowfall can be caused by global warming. First of all, global warming causes irregular weather conditions, which means that the one day it can snow and be -10 degrees, and the next it can be +10(at least in some areas, that is. Second, global warming causes the ice of especially Greenland to melt. The cold water might then block the warm gulf stream, which will especially cause problems in Europe. Rome is about as northwards as NY, compare..

While the north sees plenty of snow, London doesn't. Snows like this haven't been seen for almost 20 years. Think about it, a lot of people driving today have never driven on snow in nearly 20 years of driving. How well would you do your first time out?

actually HRHShirleyInOz it doesnt snow very much north of London. Yes i agree London has not seen snow like this in god knows how long, but i live in Scotland and i have never even seen this much snow. In my 32 years of life, the most i have ever seen here is a couple of cm. I'm not trying to prove you wrong or anything im just telling you the facts.

Hi Tick10000, I live in Australia now, but I was born and bred in Yorkshire. I saw a lot of heavy snow in my time, certainly more than a couple of cms. Drifts that topped the stone walls ... my point was only to state for the benefit of Americans who think the Brits are idiots for not being able to drive in heavy snow that this particular London snowfall is really, really, really unusually heavy.

Snow doesnt happen in London very often so British dont see the point of wasting millions of Tax payers money on snow moving equipment etc. we just enjoy the snow as it doesnt last long.

And lots of American states came to standstills with there snow fall this year too! lol
