My preist did a surmon about Paddy Kelly, it was the first time I listened, I mean really listened to what he was saying. I never heard of the Kelly musical family before and to hear Paddy's story, really moved me. His voice is beautiful.

last year I didn't praying rosary daily and after I have heard Paddy s testimony in m Medjugorje on Youth festival I started to pray rosary every day. since then I didn't miss my rosary any day and in my heart I know it s because Paddy was give very powerful testimony.

Well, in a way, he did "die" when he left show business and entered the monastery. His old self died, and now he has a new life, as Brother whatever name he chose (he may not be known as Brother Paddy).

When I was younger i used to be "in love" with him too...but these were childish dreams. As I am older now I see him as a normal person and maby thats just what he wants to be!!!

I have Leuchemia...and I'm having some dark moments in my life but we have to look for the bright side.I believe that everything happens for a reason...so maybe Paddy is searching the way...reading the signs...to know what his role is...what lesson he has to learn!Just like everyone of us!:)
I don't know guys... I think in his case it's more than the religion, I guess he needed to find more, he needed to get out of all the pressure, have some time to think,... I have heared he ain't in the monastery anymore...I don't know if it is true or not...but I hope one day he'll be happy. I don't think he really wants to be a monk, I think somewhere deep inside he wants to find somebody, have kids,... We'll see.
I agree with you Marteena007. Speaking through experience I had alot of things that happen in my life. Some that even left a mark on me. Some people go through spiritual healing, soul searching or guidance to a positive path. One of these days he will be happy in the mean time we just have to be patient. And I'm sure when the time comes he will come out and all his fans would see his smile again.
I doubt, too that he'd come back to a normal life, let aside singing. Being a good person and living by certain values is a big and importantstep, indeed and I was thinking that it would've been better to stay on the other side of the cloister's walls and talk to people about religion and being a good person through his music...

Why does anyone become a priest, a monk, a nun? Love of God. A longing to lead a holier life. All I say is, thank you for the music Paddy and may you find peace and fulfilment.
Not at all. I am sure Paddy loved his life with his family and his music, but he is a deeply religious man with a strong love of God who loved the peace that speaking to God brought to him in prayer and through his music. Like any love for anything in life, nothing else matters in the end but this huge love. Sometimes it lasts forever and sometimes it doesn't, no one can tell which it will be for Paddy, but it is a path he needed to walk down for today.
i don't know. if he already questioned his autority in life he might went through a serious crisis.religion may give some people answers to their questions, but like everything we do in an extreme way, it can have a weird influence on you.
in that case it's like an addiction. once you start to dedicate more than 3 hours a day on praying, you may want to move further. it's really a pity that such a talented musician went to the monastery, but perhaps that was just a logical consequence of his latter lifestyle.
however i really really doubt that he'll join stage again.
how long is he in the monastery by now? 2-3 yrs? and still happy... after 3 yrs of total silence performing on stage like "in the old days" seems almost impossible to me. if he could survive these 3 yrs without any performance, he probably be fine for the rest of his days by singing prayers. i'm sorry guys, but that is my opinion.

I don't know what you already know about him.
He was part of the great Kelly Family. He and his 8 brothers and sisters had a very impressive success cross Europe, all began with streetlife-music.
Then Paddy had enough and became a monk. Now he is hidden behind strong walls....
Many fans miss him and are very sad about this.

Just one thing: he is happy now, that´s all that counts. And as long as he´s happy, it was the right decision for him.

I don't know guys... I think in his case it's more than the religion, I guess he needed to find more, he needed to get out of all the pressure, have some time to think,... I have heared he ain't in the monastery anymore...I don't know if it is true or not...but I hope one day he'll be happy. I don't think he really wants to be a monk, I think somewhere deep inside he wants to find somebody, have kids,... We'll see.

I agree with you Marteena007. Speaking through experience I had alot of things that happen in my life. Some that even left a mark on me. Some people go through spiritual healing, soul searching or guidance to a positive path. One of these days he will be happy in the mean time we just have to be patient. And I'm sure when the time comes he will come out and all his fans would see his smile again.

I doubt, too that he'd come back to a normal life, let aside singing. Being a good person and living by certain values is a big and importantstep, indeed and I was thinking that it would've been better to stay on the other side of the cloister's walls and talk to people about religion and being a good person through his music...

My opinion, I hate religion.If you want to do a positive thing to this world there are many other ways than going to a monastery.Starting with yourself to be a good human is a good beginning.You don't need a God for that.Open your eyes.Religion starts war all over the world.I know this sounds heavy...

Gosh, in some of the pictures he looks so unhappy and unhealthy..., so skinny... It is sad. I miss the Paddy with the red cheeks, having fun, singing... Hope he'll find his happiness.

Not at all. I am sure Paddy loved his life with his family and his music, but he is a deeply religious man with a strong love of God who loved the peace that speaking to God brought to him in prayer and through his music. Like any love for anything in life, nothing else matters in the end but this huge love. Sometimes it lasts forever and sometimes it doesn't, no one can tell which it will be for Paddy, but it is a path he needed to walk down for today.

i don't know. if he already questioned his autority in life he might went through a serious crisis.religion may give some people answers to their questions, but like everything we do in an extreme way, it can have a weird influence on you.

in that case it's like an addiction. once you start to dedicate more than 3 hours a day on praying, you may want to move further. it's really a pity that such a talented musician went to the monastery, but perhaps that was just a logical consequence of his latter lifestyle.
however i really really doubt that he'll join stage again.

how long is he in the monastery by now? 2-3 yrs? and still happy... after 3 yrs of total silence performing on stage like "in the old days" seems almost impossible to me. if he could survive these 3 yrs without any performance, he probably be fine for the rest of his days by singing prayers. i'm sorry guys, but that is my opinion.
