  • sanguu bashi ! natsukashii ! tu etais jeune

  • WOW! A lot of response on something so obscure! How cool that such a young kid is channeling an old camp classic such as Torch Song. I just saw the movie last week; what a glorious piece of shit! (In a flawless way) Just like this vid. Please post more! xoxo

  • tt247jer---

The next time you see Charlie Maylor, you tell him to take those 88 keys, black and white, one by one, and....... SHOVE 'EM UP HIS ASS!

  • I hope some folks are responding in jest. So much hate! Joan Crawford and camp are tagged to this video, which suggests to me that tt247jer is playing up the campy Hollywood diva image. Come on--a facial masque??? Have a sense of humor, folks! The term "Dada," in fact, isn't even tagged, nor is it part of the video description. It's merely suggested in the title and presented as the word of the day. Think of this as a clip of PeeWee's Playhouse, only more fabulous!:)

  • shit I'm an idiot, ne? can't even edit a comment correctly... sorry love...

  • I thought it was brilliant, an excellent question and well directed, except for the lack of grace you've shown in responding to comments. As for me, I thought it was a brilliant idea, and excellent directorship, except for the lack of grace in replying to comments. Hell, I didn't get half the references either, does that make me stupid? Keep up the good work, and don't spend so much energy trying to control the response you get. Let 'em rail on... love ya...

  • Absolutely, this "is what it is"! A gutsy experiment based on very critically minded ideas, with a heavy dose of obscure camp... Any experiment must take into account it's weaknesses as well as strengths, or it doesn't mean anything - welcome the negative (except of course for the really abusive ones) with the positive, and you'll learn more. *damn the limited comment space!*

  • lmao!!! that was sooo freaking weird but soo freaking awesome. it's soo trippy, makes no sense but yet it did have point which was. "this is what it is, this is what I wanted to say, and here ya go!"

  • yes, you're right. :)

  • Dada is dead. Long live Dada.

  • choke and/or die in a fire

  • nice day to you too

  • cus i can see you've really added the most inteligent videos ever (ie the Pokemon theme) to your favorites :)

  • Nobody thinks you're in blackface. If you were, it'd be a piss-poor job. Most of us have knowledge to share with the world, but we're not all so condescending about it. You've spent all this time in the video blog talking down to people you've never met and demanding they "look that up," when you could have just said your goddamned piece and been done with it. I can't imagine the kind of contortions it takes to worship yourself while standing on a pedestal of your own construction like that.

  • I worship myself every day. In fact, my subjects also worship me.

Sorry if my references were too sophisticated for you. I'm sure you wouldn't have gotten mad if you knew any of them.

  • huh.

  • Maybe you just don't have the cultural capital it takes to understand what I'm doing here. The simplicity belies complex references to other world's. Like I said... look up "Two Faced Woman," the song not the movie, and notice the other two songs being played, "Rocket 88," and "Stairway to Gilligan's Island."

  • Truly, the camp cosmos seem to have aligned because this seemingly blackfaced image and the Zeppelin travesty at the end of your videoblog remind me of my friend who created an Inland Empire black rapper named Mizz Guided, who raps over a sample of "Stairway to Heaven."

It's not Dada, but it must be blackface:

  • ugh. i can't edit my comment? and FUCK youtube for not letting me post what i originally said because it's over 500 characters. i'll try again and post as many comments as i wish.

  • paraphrased: you reflect the two-facedness/duality so intriguingly in the repetitive editing, which also parallels w/ the stuttering sound of the word "dada" itself. the theme of the mask/disguise/PSEUDONYM manifest in references to miss crawford, which we know was her stagename, and "rocket 88," which was credited to an imaginary group, not ike. may i commend you for not referencing BAHbra's MIRROR HAS TWO FACES, too?

  • Thank you for your intelligent and wonderful comments! :) I hope you check out my other videos! I’m so glad some people actually understood this video! And that someone else knows who Rocket 88 is really by… I thought only Ike and Tina fans knew that!

  • Martin Roumagnac... I just rented it!
