Perfection at it's best..I can leave this world a happy man for knowing Tammy, and as far as I am concerned there will Never Be another Tammy... Thank-you livingadream2 for posting such a great video
@MrThuglifegangsta69 It can also be sung by a man. You just don't know what it feels like to have to lean on someone after it's all over. It's painful and TW says so beautifully. Lose the tude and get a heart.
I'm living this right now. And I opened for her back in 1977. Imagine what a song would do to someone who was there in Nashville and now living every line and lyric. And I can't tell anyone why.
What a classic! I love it, and it never gets old. We have a version of this on our channel. Not trying to spam here, but I ask everyone please check out this talented 16 year old....she's a big Tammy fan as you'll see. Music row has their eye on her already, so stop by our channel and get a preview of her before the rest of the world does! Subscribe and comment if you like what you see. Thanks!
In the duets with George - 'One' and 'Ilusive Dreams', her expression is unmatched. So is George's. Two of the best ever in any genre of music singing together. 30 years later, they still sound fresh, ever-new, better than the present-day singers. Incredible. A miracle of nature.
This is her best solo song. None can sing it better. None has ever had such a singular and appealing voice. Nor so much feeling. This was the Golden Age of American music. The words are simple but unequaled in meaning.
I'm going through a divorce after 29 years of marriage; no song expresses my feelings better; and thanks to my soon-to-be -ex for letting me lean on him "til I can make it on my own."
There is nothing like the classics. Country music today is fine but they can't tell a story like those great singers from the past. Yes Loretta, Kitty, Patsy and the rest are all great as well but when Tammy sings, theres just something about it. It's like you are right there with her, feeling her pain, and her joy. People can relate better to the singers of the past, at least those my age and older (40's)
Trying to get over my husband of 24 years. This song hits home for me as I am in so much pain. I wish he would let me keep in touch with him until I can make it on my own...but he is with someone else.
This was the first in the ranking of CountrySong in 1976, like many her beautiful songs during other years, before and after '76. [ One among all : "Stand by Your Man " ].
I loved the sweetness..sadness...tenderness of her amazing voice....I have listened to her since childhood...left Virginia many years ago but she brings me back to my country past in a heartbeat....god bless her.
I am living this song right now. I met someone perfect for me and now circumstances are keeping us apart. " Let me keep on using you till I can make it on my own" God love you Tammy Wynette for this song
Tammy Wynette is my all time favorite female vocalist. Her music has gotten me through some tough times. Her music identifies with the trials many women go through in life and love.
Wow she is absolutely beautiful in the 2: 50 picture. It's a shame that God took this lady away when i was was just 6 years old and now that I'm 18 i have no other country singer to listen to because Tammy you are still the Queen of country. This should have been our High School senior song. I love you Tammy. This song is the best, I can't stop hearing it on my Mp3 player. May you rest in peace Tammy.
Why is it, that even today, with so many beautiful, well written, well sung, love songs, you always come back to this song, this lady. you know she understands what this moment is all about.
Surely I will wake up some day & see the morning sun.........what more can you want when you are in pain over a breakup & begin to live your life again? Such a hurting song.
@livingadream2 thank you from my heart as well. Tammy and I go way back, even when I was rocking to Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper, Tammy singing How Great Thou Art, or Stand by Your Man, could always grab my attention. Such power has never been equaled, male or female.
Thank you for the compliment but, if you mean my comment "Your being here gave so much more than your being gone could ever take away", I cannot take the credit for that. Those are words from Tammy's song "Being Gone" (which makes me cry every time I hear it!).
Tammy did write plenty of her own songs but she also sang songs written by others. Her first song was Apartment No.9 written by Bobby Austin and Johnny Paycheck. She wrote this one in 1976. The year following her divorce with George Jones.
Art is always and individual thing...all the Ladies livingdream2 named are tremendous artists with their own unique style. Tammy has been one of my favorites for years...but so has Patsy, Loretta, Kitty...and several others.
In my opinion, this was the most wonderful female singer in the world in country.
She always acted so regal, perfect lady, gorgeous, lovely voice.
Too bad she endured such hard times alot of her life and taken from us many many years too soon.
Love her!!
I agree that those skip ads prior to the songs are very irritating. Can it be stopped forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????

Kind of hard to agree. I agree to the most part of it but then there was or is Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn. All unique in their own ways.
