  • What is that on her wall @ 5:00.... ohh its Orlando Bloom, the sexiest man alive.

  • @hhhhheeeeful Yes and in the second series she doesn't find him attractive at all when he tries to get with her. They well made a mistake there..

  • amazing series

  • do you want one? "no" just normal? ya, okay.

  • Awww... I love Maggie :(

  • I used to do extra work when I was younger... it was really boring. You just sit and wait for people to set up the scene. I wish I would've met a Maggie or Andy.

  • Did anyone else REALLY want to hug Maggie!!!!? :(

  • 3:16 Since seeing this, I have begun searching

for every "Apartment # 8" in England.

  • Funniest bit is the credits... Shaun is credited as playing Barry... when in the show, he's actually playing himself...but everyone only knows him as Barry from Eastenders LOLOL

  • Looking forward to Gervais' new series after The Office and Extras...

  • everybody see that they messed up a bit by putting orlando bloom on her wall! then later on she isn't impressed when he kisses her!

  • i though maggie didnt like orlando bloom 5:00

  • The hesitation before the 2nd hug, "you want one?" is so fcking good :D

  • @OskarHellstroem ---I was thinking the exact same thing and was going to make the exact same comment :)

  • Felix and Mar

  • Awwww Maggie getting rid of her toys and changing her look :( I think everyones been in that 'grow up/sort your life out' situation before

  • @haribo687 lol I loved your comment because that's exactly where I am now.

  • I love the way Ricky (Andy) looks when Patrick Stewart is apologising on his behalf... He is sooo sweet. Wish Ricky was my best friend. :-)

  • I can only describe this show as being cringe comedy. I fucking love it.

  • Phoebe from Friends Vs. Maggie from Extras....uggh...tough choice as to the most tolerable...

  • Poor Maggie, she just wanted to help her best friend.

  • Maggie has good intentions but to be honest how many people can tolerate her screwing things up? In season 2 gets even more ditzy...

  • in every episode u can see or hear sumthin that appears in the next 1, or a few episodes later. don t just stare, see and listen as well.

  • Anyone notice the Orlando bloom poster in Maggies room? I thought she hated him!

  • Andy and Maggie's confrontation is a great example of 'less is more' regarding profanity. I think Andy's F word may be the only one in the series? It becomes a much more powerful word when the only time you hear it is during a fight between two good friends.

Same thing with Brent telling Finch to F off, too (except Finch was hardly a friend).

  • This show is excellent. I need to get my hands on it.

  • Seems like that there are quite a few gays at the BBC.

  • @goombabear And suddenly, things begin to make a lot more sense, eh? ;)

  • @goombabear It's britain.

  • What AIDS?

  • 'uggy bears.

  • I think Maggie is so sexy and beautiful. If that's a 6 out of 10, then 6s are fine by me!

  • who is the black singer on the poster behind the bbc guy on the right does anyone out there know?

  • @cji1977 Lenny Henry.

  • @cji1977

It's Lenny Henry the comedian and I presume that was just one of his characters,. He is the definition of an un-funny comedian.

  • NO! MAGGIE!!! DON'T TAKE DOWN THE PEANUTS POSTER!!! NOT THE PEANUTS!!!

  • Great comedy

  • Comment removed

  • Wen Maggie takes down the poster of Orlando Bloom its not really a gaffe, its a sign shes growing up....so it jumps straight back into the next series....So the story continues......

  • @scaredwrist No, it was a genuine gaffe actually!

It was not the bit of genius that you are suggesting.

  • I like Andy and Maggie's relationship the way it is. Gervais obviously didn't see the need to portray them as anything other than close friends.

  • I think Andy Millman comes pretty close to the real Ricky Gervais.

"When the wistle blows" is supposed to be like "the office" and Maggie is Karl Pilkington.

  • @whitexchina No actually 'When the Whistle Blows' and 'The Office' are clearly polar opposites.

The first one is a broad, unfunny sitcom with a studio audience and CLICHED characters.

The Office was a ground-breaking mock-documentary with no laughter track and REAL characters.

  • @LauritZenc

You don't really have to explain the difference between the two shows.

I meant that Andy Millman is like a caricature of Ricky Gervais in real life...who made a show ( the office)

also about his boss etc...Good day! Greetings from Germany

  • @whitexchina I agree that Ricky drew on his own experiences when writing Extras but nI don't think that Millman and Gervais are that alike at all.

  • "what aids?...is it aids?"

    genius

  • maggie doesnt sabotage andy in this episode, he does it himself by making lame homophobic jokes and when they come back to bite him in the ass he blames maggie. what a dick.

  • "......have you seen star trek next generation?"

  • "You don't want to be any part of it... trust me." LOL

When is Patrick Stewart's film coming out!?!

  • huggie bears lol

  • I know someone exactly like maggie and I have blown up on her plenty of times too and felt like a complete ass 2 minutes later. You tell people to grow up and be different from who they are but i have a feeling that you do it because you have lost that childish innocence yourself. Its a pure act of jealousy and its worse if you are a man and the other person is a woman.

  • the guy who plays damo is a good actor he was in the bill a couple of weeks ago and he wasnt antyhing like a bum basher.

  • Patrick Stewart : "and the reason you're hearing my rich, sexy voice, is that..."

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I really love it how the Office and Extras combine comedy with drama and with real life problems. even though Maggie seems to thwart Andy so many times, they've got such beautiful friendship going on that it makes me jealous of them :) in this, I really like the character of Maggie. A little silly? Maybe, but sooo good-hearted (and pretty!!)

  • Maggie looked absolutely gorgeous after she straightened her hair and tried to look more "grown up" with new sort of attires she was wearing......

  • great fun, many thanks. Isn't the BBC honcho also a 'God' in 'Another Country'?

  • 1.22 made me spit my drink out.

  • have you seen star trek the next generation?...

  • I think some of us men who have a platonic relationship with a special woman in their lives can relate to this series, i have this, no I'm not gay... I'm single, ever trying, but i don't have any brothers or sisters, but i have a 'Maggie' and it's great, special, i can throughly recommend it... friendships like this are worth more than a mountain made of gold, there is a downside though.... you can confuse Lesbians :)

  • @pcvideogamer why would you confuse lesbians?

  • Comment removed

  • @intencityfan i think he was trying to make a point that if you're a nice, intelligent, sane, sensitive, non-sexist non-homophobic straight male, a lesbian might find you more attractive than other males, and some of them might even start questioning their sexuality. but no matter how amazing a guy is, he's still a guy, there's no getting around that, so it wouldn't be enough to overcome the sex issue. he's just joking about being such an amazing guy that he almost turns gay girls straight lol

  • brilliant

  • haha. Patrick Stewart has a "rich, sexy voice"

  • "Do you want one? Just a normal, okay." lol

  • damn i hate hearing to song at the end and the commentator saying whats on next ... it makes me so fucking home sick ...British TV is the tits

  • Im currently travelling and in Malaysia and it alwasy reminds me of home! British TV is the best, no no, british comedy is the best

  • the dude in the blue shirt ruined this whole show for me, and did

anyone else notice Extras has the same story line as part of Seinfeld

  • What's the music at the end?

  • "Tea for the Tillerman," by Cat Stevens.

  • thank's

  • i absolutely love maggie's laughs!

  • 5:02 maggie has a picture of Orlando Bloom in her room, but in series 2, she turns him down, when she meets him, and treats him as though he isn't a celebrity. Weird!

  • It's Maggie. She doesn't make *any* sense.

  • @Woodcakes Good spot!

  • YeAH, I WAS thinking of that

  • In that ep, Bloom (in character) acts really egotistical and puts Maggie off.

  • 1,15 Andys face, priceless! lol.

  • "I won't be around for long"

    "Is it AIDS?"

    LMAO

  • Thank God for Extras and The Office, hopefully that will finally kill the catchphrase-based rubbish we've been served for years.

  • "You win by default"...ha..ha..ha

  • there's something eerily beautiful about watching maggie straighten her hair in lonely silence staring off into space.

  • @SHATTAPYOFACE I wanna arsefuck her

  • @SHATTAPYOFACE she's always beautiful in her own "odd" way :L

  • Thanks for the uploads - quality show. :)

  • dont care how much arse sex he has- lol

  • Ha, I noticed a bit of an inconsistency. There's a poster of Orlando Bloom up in Maggie's house, but she isn't interested in him when he appears in the second series.

  • It might be an inside joke of theirs. They are a tight knit cast and I wouldn't be surprised if that really was the case.

  • i was thinking that as well!

  • I saw that, too. I think that's because Orlando Bloom's role first belonged to someone else. Was it Ewan McGregor? Anyway, somebody dropped out, and they eventually replaced him with Bloom. Last-minute type deal.

  • it was supposed to be Jude Law but he dropped out, probably too busy shagging

  • or being a bald cunt

  • Ricky Gervais makes a comment about this in the extra material. Claiming that they realized this themselves when Orlando was scheduled for series 2, but they (jokingly) hoped no-one would remember...

  • Patrick Stwewart talks like he is whispering... there is very little voicing....

  • Apart from this episode I've never seen this show but I found this scene with the guy forgiving him really touching?

  • You should watch the episode with Ross Kemp... it nearly made me cry ;)

  • "huggy bears"

  • he won't be around for long....what aids???

  • One of my favourite scenes in all of television when Maggie's in her apartment

  • Why's that?

  • what is Damo's accent? i'm not british, but i can usually identify different dialects, at least the ones in england... but the lisp is throwin me off.

  • Welsh.

  • really, doesn't sound that welsh to me

  • I was kidding mate, it's Western English.

  • Has anybody in the history of man stuck by a "friend" who fucks up as much as Maggie?

  • lol i kno ryt...she's cute tho lol with an adorable accent =]

  • not sure about that

  • so many laughs - pure genius

  • i love maggie but come on she really is so daft!

  • I love Maggie

  • God, I feel so sorry for her.

  • I love this! It makes me laugh and cringe at the same time lol

  • At 5:07 Maggie has a poster of Orlando Bloom on her wall, even though in the second season she says she doesn't fancy him. Bit of a gaffe I guess.

  • Orlando Blooms "character" was supposed to be Jude Law! At the last minute he pulled out and they cast Orlanda Bloom!

  • Orlando bloom wasn't in this one. Patrick Stewart replaced Jude Law and a good thing too he really adds gravitas to the character of a lustful old perv

  • Well this is Maggie we're talking about....

  • @wuzcloopin

    good spot

  • @wuzcloopin I know right! haha and lucky girl she got a kiss from him.

  • @wuzcloopin

Yes, that is a little mistake

  • Imagine Maggie in P. Stewarts film...

  • @wuzcloopin The guy Maggie doesn't like in season 2 was suppose to Jude Law but he had to drop out due to a schedule conflict. Orlando Bloom took over the role but obviously created a bit of a WTF with sharp-eyed fans.

  • @wuzcloopin andy told her to grow up n coz she s tryin, prob that s why.

  • Do you want? Just normal? LOL

  • ahhahahah xD

  • it's definitely AIDS

  • The Jude Law thing at the end was a slight because he turned Extras down and made Alfie instead and it bombed.

  • Ashley Jensen is DAMN good in this! The Maggie character has really grown on me...

  • his face at 2 mins!!!!!!

  • just noticed the orlando thing too haha too funny. she doesnt like him in the episode but she has his poster lol

  • Poor Maggie @ 5.15

    she really needs a hug

  • SUBLIMINAL ADVERTISING.

    WATCH ALFIE

  • Comment removed

  • Its actually a hidden joke.

If you actually botherd to buy the DVD instead of being the cheap ass you are, you might know that =)

  • lol, Alfie ad. Subtle.

  • Notice the Orlando Bloom poster in Maggie's flat. Foreshadowing for Orlando's appearance in the next episode!

  • yeh noticed that too. I wonder if gervais remambered that when he was casting him

  • But she seems to dislike Orlando Bloom in that episode?!

  • The role was originally intended for Leonardo De Caprio, but he was unavailable. So the part was re-written for Orlando Bloom, who agreed to step in. Gervais has said he hoped people wouldn't notice the poster of Bloom on Maggie's wall in this episode as she wasn't supposed to like him.

  • I think Orlando Bloom is a more appropriate choice because his looks aren't as open to interpretation as DiCaprio's ;-)! Completely separate point: even though Andy's words were harsh to Maggie there was an element of truth and the fact she doesn't seem to have any other friends suggests someone should have told her earlier that she shouldn't say everything that pops into her head.

  • You want one too? No? Just normal?

  • the series is so good.. the ones who are meant to be annoying like the camp writer and the cunty bbc producer are REALLY irritating!

  • Hmm, just noticed Maggie has a poster of Orlando Bloom, and yet when she meets him, he's the only guy she doesn't fancy in the series!

  • good point, omc03. I prefer adorable to sexy, actually.

  • Maggie needs kissed so damn hard..

we could take it from there.

  • 1:20 JUST loool

  • "The reason you're hearing my rich, sexy face."

"Look at his fat, expressionless face."

  • maggie breaks my heart at 5:18.

  • Haha "make it so!"

  • Actually they wanted Di Caprio for the bloom role and the posters werent supposed to act as a link towards the next series star. It was a plot-hole.

  • If they wanted DiCaprio for the Bloom role, were they still going to have the character talk about Johnny Depp all the time? Or were they going to have a slightly different plot?

  • Yeah, I wonder about that too.

Gilber Grape was too long ago and Leo's role in it is anything but sexy lol.

  • ok plot hole in this scene.

note the poster on the wall of orilando bloom (when maggies taking them off).

yet in another episode she tells him to his face that she doesnt find him attractive and also didnt enjoy kissing him!

why would she have a poster of him on her wall?

    hehe plot hole!

  • I think it's intentional given what went on. They probably had a laugh putting it in there intentinally.

  • no.

  • I adore Ricky Gervais

  • is that a poster of Orlando Bloom she's taking down? It's weird because she isn't interested in him in the episode where he guest stars..

  • Maggie looks sexier with straight hair, I think.

  • Sexier maybe, but cuter no. She looks far more adorable with big, messy hair.

  • ah thank fuck, looks liek things r looking up - couldnt handle all the depression in this show!

  • He would've bent over in that office had they asked him to.... so funny.

  • "He won't be around for long"...."oh is it Aids?" lmaoo

  • Patrick Stewart's rich and sexy voice?-perfect!

  • Maggie looks hot with the pretty hair!

  • peter kay on the catherine tate show?

sounds like when the whistle blows!

  • C'mon, Silly! 'uggy bears!

  • I'm glad Andy said that to her though. Thank gosh. I just said this in the last part, but really, how can she honestly think she was helping him? Friends confide things in each other, not to be blabbed the first chance you get. I didn't feel sorry for her when she was almost crying there. Argh, Maggie!

  • I think maggie is way too clueless and has little tact..in the next season it gets worse IMO, she puts her foot in her mouth constantly and always puts Andy in an awkward position.

  • i didnt like seeing maggie straightening her hair! it was like seeing someone cut themselves...

  • Have you seen Star Trek The Next Generation?
