also your tactic works until you read the rules. you cant defend russian territories with brittish and american. original axis and allies rules. all peices would be interned from the three counties. optional rule allows for russia to get half the ipc and playing with super heavy bombs is retarded

me and my freinds quit playing reg axis and allies with out world at war expansion by xeno games. this was due to the fact that the axis even with the two hits to a bb rule could with 70 percent chance destroy the brittish fleet in port. if you follow up with japan you can cripple the american navy.

once me and my freinds found hearts of iron we retired the board games its so much easier on the pc and way more details to micro manage

All the Allies have to do to win is:

1. Russia attacks Norway on 1st turn & buys infantry to defend from Germany.

2. UK buys aircraft carrier & helps attack/fortify Norway after Russia does.

3. US buys transports & infantry to ferry to Norway & Africa & flies 2 fighters to UK carrier.

Allies just perform a concentrated attack on Germany, w/Russia sending a few infantry to defend against Japan from the east. It is almost impossible for the Allies to lose unless Axis gets Heavy bombers early.

Concerning the real Axis/Allies conflict: If Germany hadn't forged an alliance with Japan, US citizens of Germanic decent wouldn't have been fighting distant cousins and kinsmen.

I have the Guadalcanal board game. I'd recomend it to anyone who prefers playing with tactics and strategy. This game is like risk, only strategy.

For the axis to win, Russia must fall, and much of this responsibility falls on Japan's shoulders. Germany has screwed itself over too much by this time to do anything.

I think a good strategy for Russia is to not make any early attacks on any territories other than West Russia.

I find the best tactic as axis is to use japan to take USSR from behind, trying to take the pacific is suicide.

Buy a factory with Japan to place on mainland Asia and buy 3 tanks to place there every time, using 2-3 transports to ferry 6 infantry from Japan to the mainland every time and just attack Russia from the east. Don't worry about the USA in the Pacific because most of the islands there are worthless - ASIA is where the income is. Japan has to hit Russia HARD to prevent a concentrated attack on Germany by the Allies and get to Moscow before the Allies conquer Berlin.

I have this version of the game, it's a fun version. The tech is a bit too much (industrial tech) and there aren't any destroyers or artillery, but it's still a nice version.

I've found a few other versions that look interesting, such as the A&A that is entirely the battle for Guadalcanal.

whenever i play this with my friend, he always goes for the more expensive stuff, BBs instead of DDs or CVNs, and i go for cheaper, more numerous forces, like fighters and DDs, i always kill him, but he is learning, lawst time i was 1 zone from having all of my countries defeated, only won cause he didnt push hard enough

I personally love the math behind A&A, its half of the fun, like why in terms of combat ability, subs are the best naval unit, which is why they always kick ass in most games. and likewise how The tank is beaten by inf/artillery simply because of numbers.

The club site is down for about three days because the server is moving but the ewarzone is running fine.

After playing A&A since the 80's, I'd recommend Advanced Third Reich if you want to really war game. Axis and Allies seems too simple.

i have collected all the axis and allies and just got guadalcanal so out of the games i played that was kind of a bad sragety for japan to invade africa. it is germany's job to take africa and japan to worry about the pacific and the russians in the east. also germany should build a foothold on the ukarane boarder and build som battleships just out of western Europe to prevent an amphibious assualt

I don't think it really matters what happened to Germany....I believe they did the KJF (kill japan first) strategy.

That's a good question. I don't really remember, but I think he spent a few turns getting them over there, and then decided that that was more trouble than it was worth, and that's why you never see any more of them there.

In that case, Russia will usually dominate Germany unless

1. Japan cripples Russia (Almost never happens with me. I always keep Japan in the Pacific against US and UK mostly.)

2. USSR player is awful

KroM234 - all you have to do with Russia is buy 8 infantry and attack Norway on the first turn (either capture it or destroy enough units for UK or USA to get it in turn1), and try to get Manchuria if possible. Just buy infantry every time and build up for a concentrated attack on Germany with the other Allies, making sure Japan does not capture Moscow from the east. Russia is the easiest country to play!

Well it WAS only the second time we'd ever played, so don't expect any advanced strategies.

Germany was played by the same guy who played Japan, and he realized his big mistake(s) just after it was too late to do anything about it.
