@bobbymostertman For many reasons; it sets not only the scene but the general nature of the show. Its very typically southern, so it tells a lot about the setting. It has very strong sexual connotations in the lyrics, and vampires themselves are one big sexual connotation and always have been metaphorical for sex so it suits the narrative of the TV show. that a good enough answer?

he does the sound track for HBO's TV series True Blood and i think, although he was well known before, that's when he became more worldwide...if that makes sense! lol
