How viable is it to play a character without a shield?

@scullyy I imagine it's quite viable as there are many two-handing, heavy hitter weapons in the game. Could be a hell of a lot of fun to make a no shield steamroller character with Havel's dragon claw sword and a poise stat that is through the roof!

the estus flask Holds the magic power found in the flames of the bonfires. Basically you drinking fire water, its a good thing your not driving.

@nickplaysvideogames Just in case you didn't know...some shields are better at others at things like parrying. Shields like the Thiefs starting shield "Target Shield" which you can find in the area just before the Capra Demon..*I will get back to you on its name* Give you a longer span of which to parry. Shields such as the Knights shield have high stability and are thus meant for absorbing blows...hope this helps..love watching this good job :) and good luck

You know where the firelink shrine is right? just go down to the fire keeper. and keep going down til you hit that little ghost place with all the undeads. you'll need a semi powerful wep like the drake sword to slay the ghosts quickly. there is a barrel that is next to the bridge that has a curse allowin you to hurt the ghosts that you must use. keep goin on that bridge and kinda look around. the drake sword will give you time to definatly travel deep into the area
