  • Drunken boxing is good in real life, but if I'm not wrong, Rondie Chen is really a wushu man, so am not sure if this is drunken style wushu or the real deal.

  • The priciples I have learned from Drunken style I have adapted to the many styles I have learned over the years.( also I am a 2nd degree black belt in 3 in 3 styles of martial arts) I Know What I aAm Talking About!!!!

  • i like this vid. it actually had a good speaker and demo'd techiniques that would be useful

  • Alan Teo is in this video H eis abjj blackbelt under Renzo!!

  • Rondie Chen is now teaching again for more info message me or email at chenjosh30@me.com

  • As Rondie Chen always says the style is not the failure it is the practitioner. There is no such thing as a better style and Rondie Chen as I personally know him is humble and modest enough to undrstand the culture behind each style. You watch too much UFC to ever understand that

  • this guy is jackie chan!!

  • Why is everyone so enthralled in the idea of "is this good in a fight" Kung Fu is and art and a way of life. Practicing it is a way to become one with your soul and to gain wisdom. Thos who only want to learn Kung Fu for fighting purposes will never prosper in life.

  • @SMxJOK3R this is the most intelligent comment I've ever read on a martial arts video on youtube. kudos.

  • that was a really good, really interesting explanation of a really interesting system/concept. i love this guy. skills, depth, but with zero bravado. he's the kind of teacher that's really rare, where you want to learn whatever it is he teaches.

  • in the real world, being unpredictable can save you're life.

  • Atre you the same Rondie Chen who was in 2nd lav Bn , laier changed to 2nd LAI Bn?? almost twenty yrs ago i served under you at campo lejuene NC. How are you man?? its a pleasure to have known you.

  • This may be stupid to ask but is there a age requirement to learn this style?

  • @knos1995 As you heard him say, he said he learned this style at like 11/12

  • can you have a few drinks before practicing not as a necessity but just o help your body get a little limber and if you do hurt yourself to help with the pain?

  • i like his glasses

  • wow i wont too learn that form.....i know some of them but this one no

  • what is traditional stile he use?is he have seminars in present time?

  • Great explanation of the style

  • Very good video.

What style of Drunken boxing is this?

  • this is like the only traditional drunken form on da net

    good stuff

  • wait, but don't you have to be drunk to TRULY do drunken style?

  • why isn't this guy famous yet?

and where can i apply for a lesson?

  • how does this style stand up against others honestly? cause ive been heard its more wushu than kung fu and useless in a fight :(

  • Don't knock something until you have gone against a good, pure practitioner of any style. We were at an open full-contact competition where very good traditional karate, kung-fu and kickboxing fighters were rendered helpless by one sloppy fighter who had perfected a choy lei fut style hammerfist. Finally the guy lost when one perceptive fighter realized that that was all he had. But the other fighters lost to him! So in the real world what does that mean? Surprise is a tactic.

  • @MartialArchiveTv no you miss understand im not knocking it i want to find a master to teach me, i just hear alot of crap from people saying it doesnt stand up in cage fighting or against the more traditional styles, which i disagree with, i just wanted conformation from someone who takes it possibly, i wish i could find a teacher in mississippi

  • @MartialArchiveTv Well said.

  • @chatanwarrior oh boi,, it works.. and it can work very well

  • @chatanwarrior so not true... it is supposed to make your opponent think you are off balance, when you are perfectly in sync.

  • @chatanwarrior its confusing and easy to underestimate, and thats one of the facts that makes it effective

  • @chatanwarrior well the real power of the drunken style is that is very dificult to read their movements and it can atack virtually anyway they want >.<

  • @chatanwarrior man no one ever gets this. ur not supposed to fight against other styles. its the same style vs. the same style. u cant let an ice hockey team play against a basketball team... that exactly the same thing as kung fu vs. muay thai for example. its not made to fight against other styles.

  • @chatanwarrior my friend who was a 4th dan black belt in tai kwon do got beaten by a drunken fist fighter

  • i love the history and rarity of this style

  • I want to attend also since I trained with him for nearly 10 years! Looking forward to seeing Rondie after a 5 year absence

  • this guy is so right! dont be afraid of what comes in, but what comes out.......I wish i could receive his training!

  • @DB8ed what does that mean?

  • He looks like Chow Yun Fat.

  • OMG Josh u know the reunion is probably not going to happen now. And that is my dad!

  • Is Rondie Chen still teaching?

  • Reunion? I'm there!

    joe7sch

  • who are you

  • It's a privilege to watch this master perform his art. Thank you for posting.

  • Martial Arts can be used in street fight only by the one who controles him self and the one that master the martial art, Example : Bruce Lee : Jeet Kune Do , Jackie Chan : Kung Fu.

    Belive IN You!

  • 1:13 is Pure Art, Beautiful.

    Also, great video.

  • thanks

  • I want to thank Rondie personally for training me for nearly 10 years. His style and technique made me a better person. Boy do I miss the good ole days of training with him.

    Thank-you Rondie!

    Your old A&P/Shop-Rite co-worker

  • an excellent video that actually teaches us a bit about the drunken art.i've never actually seen it used on someone,i've always been used to seeing it in demonstrations only.
