  • i have an 84 2.3 turbo capri rs and i can take stock mustang 5.0s my friend has a 92 fox gt 5speed and i take him every time with my little 4 banger

  • is this in a merkur or a stang? i think it actually sounds good. and i agree with nswiss. most people hate on 4 cyl. cars but line up against one and watch you ass get left behind. i had a buddy who had a merkur xr4ti and it ate most modular mustang he ran against.

  • U fucktards can hate, untill u see these engines dominate any modular or push rod v8!!!

  • U need that volvo head...

  • That sounds damn good for being a four cylinder. Did you put a cam in it too? If so where can I find one that will fit an Iron duke tech 4?

  • theres a lot of guys that knows about diesel mec!!!

  • what a hunk of shit!

  • you hear that flutter when you release the throttle? it means your air flow rate is too much for your system and is pushing pressure back into the intake. Making your turbo bearings go bad from too much resistance. Blow off valves are not just for looks and sound my friend.

  • @MrDavisjacobson a turbo is designed to push pressure into the intake and thier built to so thiers no way it could ever couse bearing or back lash issues due to pressure only damage come from heat!!!!!!! and if you didnt notive the big ass wastegate on the bottom of the turbo wich is CAUSING THE FLUTTER from the vaccume control wich is rapidly opening and closing due to to much pressure to vaccume ration then viceversa to much vacume to pressure ration its just over correcting its self

  • @dirtydaveyo WOW are you wrong! lol The sound is a little surge and MrDavisjacobson knows more than you. Wategates dump exhaust pressure only when the desired boost pressure is reached, and unless it's external, you don;t hear it.

  • @MrDavisjacobson "pushing pressure back into the intake"???? The whole idea of a turbo is to compress air for intake! The flutter is the waste gate, idiot. This is YOUTUBE, so GO WATCH SOME VIDEOS before you SPOUT OFF ABOUT STUPID SHIT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT.

@ibsr2004 Nice build. FUCK THE PRIUS-DRIVING HATERS like the forementioned MORON.

  • It makes it go WAAAH

  • sounds like turbo flutter D:

  • what cam's in it?

  • sounds terrible

  • @steveandant sounds like my 2.5l 4 cyl s10

  • unreal im still gettting dumb questions on this video......

  • what kind of work did you do to get 339hp out of it

  • Yeah there is definitely some surge there. I hear it on so many cars, and people think it sounds cool, but it's actually not. It's blowing air back and shunting the turbo. It's not good for the system to have excess amounts of that, it leads to excessive wear on the head unit.

This engine is AWESOME though. Nice work man.

  • @xilix watched a buddy blow up his engine in a 1st gen supra cuz he "liked" the sound.. ^_^

  • what the heck is a silencer ring? and it sounds like comressor surge.. check your bov

  • sounds like compressor surge, im no expert, but shouldnt you get that fixed asap? afterall your turbo spins the opposite direction when compressor surge occurs, and thats exactly what i hear in this video.

  • i wish i can get my integra to whistle like that. what kind of turbo is that?

  • @2005yamahayz125 looks like a Holset HX35 or HX40

  • @2005yamahayz125 its an integra! its not supposed to be fast... and its a holset turbo i belive its either the hx35 or hx40

  • put put put put put

  • stick your fingers in there

  • what kind of engine is that?

  • what am i looking at? haha make model year?

  • What do you have done to that thing??

  • nice man! looks coool. i beileve i hear a little bit fluttering im that turbo though.

  • is that Holset H1 or H2?

  • i had two of them turbos and i blew them both apart

  • how much do u have into this setup?

i wanna do this in my 91 ford ranger :D

  • Hmmm diesel with a muscle sound...is good! :-)

  • @mjfpercussion : its not diesel, hate to break it to ya

  • ...y?

  • sounds like shit to me just leave the turbos for the diesels

  • spun bearing ?

  • Hello, turbo flutter.

  • @computer188 flutter is common 1-5 psi. there is no load on the engine or turbo so the turbo builds NO boost. as long as hes not fluttering at 30 psi, everything sounds as it should.

  • I'd have to say that turbo's sound alot better on diesel trucks...

  • i second that

  • 2.3 turbo >

  • wow haha my dream is right there ineed a new head maby and a turbo rebuild any suggestions on parts placces

  • its a 2.3L ford. Inline four cylinder, some came stock with a turbo .

  • v8 not diesel

  • Thats not a diesel engine you idiots! Glow plugs and spark plugs do completely different things cipmars. If your gonna talk about something at least know something about it so you dont look like a idiot!

  • what engine is that?

  • if im not mistaking thats the engine that came on the old svo's ....... 2.3 ford turbo thats what it looks like to me

  • 2.3 Turbo

  • WOW I really hate when people say CTD hummm It's not a Cummins engine its a ford engine with a Holset hx35 turbo. The 4cyl racers are using the turbos that are the same size as diesel engines. Have you ever seen a diesel engine up close and personal to know that diesel engines don't have spark plug wires

  • Diesels have glow plug wires. A glow plug glows and a spark plug arcs. :)

  • Little tidbit for you. Almost ALL Class 8 Diesel engines DON'T have glowplugs! Glow plugs are mostly found in smaller diesel engines for cold starts only. Glow plugs have nothing to do with making a diesel engine run. The compression of fuel and air by the piston causes the combustion and pushes the piston down. Gas engines rely on spark plugs to ignite the gas in the cylinder to create the combustion.

  • I know about glow plugs. What they do and when they do it. Thanks for the info, anyways.

  • please tell me what a "class 8 deisel" is.

  • Full size truck Your typical tractor is considered a class 8 truck.

  • @blackened300a

WTF?? I've never in my life seen a diesel engine without glow plugs... However, you are correct that its basicaly the compression of the mixture that fires the mixture. Hence the word "Dieseling" for theose engines that keep running after shutting em off. But I fail to see what diesel engines have to do with this vid aside from having the HX35W (I think) off a diesel engine on the AS powerd 2.3T lima block found in Stangs, Thunderbirds, XR4Ti, scorpios etc etc etc

  • ever seen a CUMMINS?!

  • Yeah all the time... I suppose its possible cuz I live in a place that often hits -50 in the winter that they come standard with glow plugs... You know, cycle em on n off about 3-5 times, THEN attempt to start the beast...

At any rate, it seems perfectly logical that a desiel engines without glow plugs are common. I just havent seen one, although Im an automotive tech, and dont work on heavy equipment and such, just the typical dodge/ford chevy desiel trucks here n there...

  • cummins has a grid heater, not glow plugs

  • Technically, an engine with glow plug is not a diesel. the original design by Rudolf had no plugs.

  • about the glow plugs: most of the UPS trucks here in the states dont use glow plugs: the engines are built with a longer stroke to create more heat, thus no need for glow plugs... tractors are usually the same, weather old or new.

  • not CUMMINS

  • jesus christ thats lumpy.

  • you might as well have turboed your toilet!

  • @JBLiff77 Then I could poop twice as fast!

  • @kawana87 very true....

  • @JBLiff77 turbotoilet huh? Challenge accepted

  • @JBLiff77 its a crap car and its made by the people of zimbabwe

  • says ford i dont like it

  • BOV please... We dont like compressor surge..

  • you are all wrong diesel is not the future hydrogen fuel cell is.

  • fucking nice man!!

  • nice setup man, what holset is that? My Roommate hadsthe exact same setup but turbo is clock a little differently, im thinkin he has the hx35. All this in a little notch back 5-speed.. still needs fine tuning..im sure he would like to contact ya for some tips!

  • sds fuel injection system and 8k rpms 35 lbs of boost

still waiting to go to the dyno again but after the video of me driving down the road i did dyno it at only 6k rpms and 20lbs of boost and i peaked at 339 rwhp

    shooting for over 500 now

i will post some new videos of the car shortly since it is all together now

  • i got a 2004 gto that puts out 550 at the wheels. 6.6 stoker moter, cam, intake, chip, buncha other shit

  • gt0s are 4 pussys buy a diesel

  • diesels are for trucks not cars. fucking idiot diesel cars suck ass

  • they do but if you mod them they are good. i saw some VW Jetta TDI diesel at a car show and it dynoed in at like 380 hp and a little over 600 lb ft. of torque and the guy still manages like 45mpg. it was fast as hell. GTOs are sick though.

  • 600ft lbs of torque? sweet fucking jesus

  • yeah thats what he claimed. and i mean i dont doubt him. i was reading in a diesel power mag the other day about a guy running a Jetta with 450 hp. ill go find it real quick and give you the numbers.

  • haha just looked at it. i made a mistake on the diesel power thing. the Jetta in diesel power made 300hp and 500lb feet of torque which is still ridiculous. ill send you the cars specs in a message. its badass.

  • idk when you people will learn that diesel is the future...gasolines been taken as far as it can go...move on

  • i totally agree. diesels build more power, and theyre wayyyyy more efficient than any gas motor will ever be. i think here in the next couple years diesels will be as popular or maybe even more popular than gas motors.

  • plus parts are far thicker. and damn near run forever

  • damn right. thats the thing, they are soo strong and efficient and they never quit.

  • diesels are made for anything that wants some power ;). Cummins made an engine for an early indy car that won the indy 500. Audi makes a car for the 24 hour la mans that is TDI. not just for trucks

  • i think the cummins indy car would have won but they put the turbo right at the front inside the grill without a filter and it picked up to much rubber and debris from the track and didnt finish

  • pretty sure it did win one of the races

  • I hope they won! CTD all day

  • not really...no... Subaru has a boxer Diesel for their sedans... Volkswagon has their Diesels for jettas... Kubota makes diesels for damn near anything not on a car... Cummins makes engines for trucks, generators... Same thing with caterpillar... so, Diesels are everywhere.. not just in trucks and semi's...

  • i dont belive how wrong you are.

  • its a car not a tractor haha

  • what rpms is that thing pushing

  • extremely good tuning by the way. not even a bit turbo backfire. how did you tune it so good?

  • that ingine is a ford 2.3 turbo 4 cylinder, what do you mean by capcity? horsepower output? well stock they where 5 hp less then a 5.0 mustang V-8. these motors put out over 200 hp stock and can be easily moded to push more. the stock internals are forged and can hold around 450 hp. amagine a little, light wieght 4 banger with 450 hp in a light mustang. = FAST!!

  • what is the engine (capacity/ model)?

  • lol i didnt put a ring back on a f-350 turbo once

  • what is a silencer ring??

  • a silencer ring is what tone's down the whine/whistle. With it, its making more of a hiss then a whistle.

  • u guys know if there is any improvement in boost with it removed? wheres the ring usually located on a turbo?

  • No improvement on boost or horsepower. Just makes a whistle as the turbo spools up. The silencer ring is on the intake side. The intake needs to be removed and you will need two flat head screwdrivers to pry off the snap ring.

  • sounds like a champ! really nice install; hopefully my engine bay will look that pretty someday ;)

you running a stock cam / head on that?
