You replaced the word "spanking" in the quote with the word "beating." Manipulating a quotation to better support your conclusion is no way to gain supporters. It is way to inform people of your inability to think critically and analyze a situation without an overwhelming bias though. So great job there. This video is ridiculous and should not be given any credibility.
The christian majority needs to kick the loonies out of their church.
There is no need to lose something good because of a few loonies that give it a bad name.
if your club had a few loony members who were giving your club a bad name you would not shut the club down because of them. You would kick him out and make it clear they did not represent the majority view of your club, churches should be the same.
If your church is loony leave and join one that isn't and yes there are non loony churches
@adriansrealm You're a fucking idiot. Just because he hasn't had kids himself, it doesn't mean jack. He could know other children raised without it. He himself could have been. In your haste to be right about a situation in which you yourself know nothing, you're willing to slander and accuse somebody who you've never even met about having "Messed up kids". I for one have no children but have a mother in an "Alternative" parenting organization. I know kids raised without CP who are great.
You forgot to mention how Christian parents and Sunday school teachers use the fear of Hell/Satan to scare children into believing in God. I think that their is more psychological abuse used in religion than physical abuse. It's always "Don't do that little Johnny or you are going to burn in Hell for all eternity." Scare tactics are so pathetic, how long can one go?
@kecsoup Have you even read your bible ? Beating children is most definitely in the bible. "Do not withhold discipline from a child;if you punish him with the rod, he will not die."Proverbs 23:13. This verse even states that you can beat a child with a stick or "rod". Umm last time I checked, that was considered child abuse. According to this, it is okay to beat a child as long as they do not die! that is fucking insane, and so is anyone who believes it is not.
@kecsoup And that's the new version of the bible. Here's the King James version for ya. Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Does not just say punish, actually says beat. Beating a child is wrong plain and simple!
@kecsoup Beating children is not in the Bible? What Bible are you reading from? Go to PROVERBS 23:13 "Withold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die."
This is video ridiculous. First, Christians did not invent the concept of corporeal punishment. Second, you seem to think that the "sufficient magnitude" is equivalent to bloody and bruised. It looks to me that you're the sick one. Third, inserting other words into a quote defeats the purpose of using a quote. Fourth, if done properly, as described in the quote provided, corporeal punishment is a very effective form of punishment and typically gets excellent results in stopping bad behavior.
@GUALLACOL I don't know... maybe the people who lived for thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years before Christianity came about. Try the Code of Hammurabi. I'm sure there is something in there about disciplining your children. Right next to the one about chopping off hands for shaking hands improperly. In fact, in the grand scheme of things, the Christian rules are actually quite tame. What an ignorant question. You should get educated before responding to me again.
@DeebzDunecat I'm asking a legitimate question and just because you can not answer it you come back telling me I should get educated. If you want me to get educated, why don't you pay for it and I will ablige you!!!
@GUALLACOL I answered the question, though apparently you didn't see it.The Code of Hammurabi was around long before the Christian bible and it includes that are far worse. And, just as an added bonus to the education I'm apparently supposed to provide for you, the parts of the bible that all of this information comes from is in the Hebrew Bible. That means that the Jewish religion created them, not the Christians. Just a fun fact. It doesn't mean much, but it is worth knowing.
@DeebzDunecat Yes, and as we know, we've just gone through a few millenniums of a perfectly harmonious world without war, cruelty or social dysfunction of ANY kind thanks in part to spanking, face slapping, whipping with belts and so on. Just a few perfect few! And those anti-corporal punishment groups in modern countries? Those are the worst offenders. All of those countries go to war all the time, like Sweden, Norway and Italy! What's wrong with them anyway?!
@PyroChemicals2 If you honestly believe that teaching children to not do things because there will be consequences of pain is the reason we live in a world that has wars, cruelty, and social dysfunction then that's fine. I never said you couldn't have a separate belief than mine, nor did I say that other types of punishment weren't effective. I was simply pointing out the lack of intelligence behind the maker of this video. Or at least the support in this video was lacking or otherwise useless.
@GUALLACOL Hmm... why did you feel the need to throw an additional response my way before I was able to respond to you? Were you that offended by my intelligence in comparison to yours that you felt led to get another in? For shame.
@GUALLACOL I'll respond to all three of your "eloquent" responses in just this one. First, I'd love to win a NOBEL Prize. It would likely be in Chemistry if I ever did win one since that is my MAJOR in COLLEGE. I'm 19 years old and a college student, so no I can't run for President any time soon. The minimum is 35 years old, but the other requirements make the typical candidates much older. And lastly... actually I don't know how to respond to a "Because I felt like it!!!" comment. You win?
@GUALLACOL I came to this video to point out the problems in this person's argument. All my points were valid, and are still valid. You, however, came onto this video and have done nothing but act rudely. You have done zero to actually contribute to any sort of discussion. Seriously, look back at every response you've have sent to me. All of them, including your initial question, are completely useless when it comes to furthering any sort of discussion. It's people like you that ruin the world.
@GUALLACOL First, by the way you said that I'm assuming that you're American. I'm not. You've done absolutely nothing to protect my freedom of speech. Second, I know enough about you from your responses to come to the conclusion that I have. You've done nothing to merit a different conclusion. Third, you're correct that I still live with my parents (something that is completely acceptable given my age and financial situation), so in theory I could go home and cry to my mother if the need arises.
@GUALLACOL I'd be more than happy to prove this "theory" you speak of, but I don't actually know what theory you're talking about. Is it the one about Christians not creating corporeal punishment? Because I've already provided the Code of Hammurabi as proof.
@GUALLACOL If I'm a moron, which the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines as "a person affected with mild mental retardation", then I'm an excellent example of human intelligence despite my mental illness. You on the other hand have problems putting together insults.
@GUALLACOL Hmm... my last response somehow doubled itself. Interesting. That's unrelated to our conversation, but it seemed noteworthy. Maybe it means something? Regardless, do you have a synonym for "moron" you could use? I feel you might be more successful convincing the rest of us that you're intelligent if you find another word. Moron, after all, is a word understood by Kindergartners and has no purpose in an intelligent person's rebuttal.
@GUALLACOL You can continue to state that all you want, but the evidence is against you. Every sentence typed by me so far has been coherent and understandable despite English not being my native language. My points against the poster of this video were strong and have yet to be disproved. On the other hand your last 4-5 responses have been used to call me a moron repeatedly when everyone here can see that I'm intelligent. I've avoided calling you names despite your deserving it. So calm down.
@GUALLACOL Sigh... it's people like you that ruin countries. I'm glad to not be a part of yours. Have fun learning Mandarin Chinese once the United States fall to shambles.
@NyxRedvines What would happen if you took that belt and beat a grown adult on the street? You would be arrested for assault and battery. Why is it assault and battery to beat an adult (who has the ability to fight back of they choose) with a belt, but not a defenseless child. Think about that for a while.
If you think about it almost all wars, massacres, and feuds etc in history to present day were caused by religion. Most foreign murders are missionaries going over to different countries and telling them what their culture has been taught for thousands of years is wrong. And I don't pity them.
And I don't see why people get more upset about animal abuse over human abuse. It's like people believe animals have more rights than humans. Of course it's not right to beat your dog without reason, but I believe it's perfectly fine to hit your dog if they misbehave (OH NO, HERESY!!).
Guys, stop with these "spectrums" that group people. There is only one way of grouping people that will end in the right way: as humans. Why doe we need to separate ourselves from others, or generalize others into groups when in the end, it only matters that we are all human beings. As Dr. Seuss said: "a person's a person, no matter how small". This can also apply to beliefs and races, where a person is a person, no matter what their skin or what their beliefs are.
God can save you if you will repent of your sins, profess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe with your heart. He can do this for you. You will meet Him one day and you will either enter into His kingdom or be cast into hell. You will know that He is real one day and I will pray that you will receive Him into your heart to make Him Lord of your life. Your fight isn't with Dobson, but with a holy God and a righteous Judge.
@HigherStandard1776 Wonderful. I am Catholic and it's extremely hard for me to find other nice people out there, who don;t insult other people's beliefs. I have yet to see an atheist as tolerant as they say they are. Anyway, comments like this make my day, so thanks.
By the way I'm starting a series on my channel about morality and religion. Would you like to support me when I actually start to film it?
This video is not smart at all dude- If you’re a political freak then you rape the community by taxing them, and putting laws on them that take the freedom away by telling them what do! You showing this video you filling people with lies and raping them in the since that your jugging all Christians and saying they all beat little kids, in what category does the none Christians that rape women, abuse kids, animals, murder, steal… where is the YouTube video about them come in!
you are worried about a christian parent Disciplining their child other than a terrorist blowing people up or shooting people? If you are going to attack religion attack muslim religion. I am not saying that there aren't abusive parents but you are blaming it on my religion over the individual. and whos kid is going to defend and stick up for whats right a spoiled little shit or a disciplined child who has been taught about bravery, honor, the worth beyond themself?
Thank you for your videos. I was a devout christian, went three years to bible school and your videos started me on a path of reason to the point that I now call myself an atheist as to all religions of men and agnostic as to the existence of a creator. I am going to post this comment on all your videos so that maybe it will help another human being become free!
Spanking a kid for doing something wrong is not bad. Its right, it doesn't mena you should beat soemone. Oh and mister, morals that come from nothing but unfounded opinions, quit stereotyping christians.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfuly framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
i'm 12yrs old. my dad's a preacher & family&marriage counsellor. he's never hit me or any of my 4 brothers. i agree that beating a child is insanity. those who do it in God's name clearly don't understand what Christianity's about. Christians follow Jesus' lifestyle. Jesus welcomed children. said that those who welcome kids welcome Him. so dont say that people who call themselves Christians & beat their kids while they're at it are truly Christians. true Christians are not this way. <3GodBless<3
@whiteowl1415 again, if you are a Christian, you will want to follow Jesus' life, and He always said to welcome the children. he said you must be like a child to enter the kingdom of God. anyone who abuses someone else can't possibly be following Jesus.
Because I find the accusation that everyone is born sinners and have to pray and beg God for forgiveness for something they didn't do to be extreme psychologicaly abusive treatment.
@whiteowl1415 find me one person in the world who has obeyed every commandment in the Bible and that person does not have to go to Jesus for cleansing. everyone is a sinner.
I am saying that Christianities attacks on people as sinners from birth, before doing wrong, are abusive.
Besides, read those commandments again. 1/2 of them are just Obey the religion and have nothing to do with morality while the other 1/2 are encouraged by the Christian god to be broken every time you turn around.
obeying a false God is a form of lying. obeying Satan is claiming Satan is better/more powerful than God=lying. not following God is following Satan. relating to the above>claiming Satan is better than God.
a baby technically sins whenever they kick their mother. but we don't attack babies. we help them grow so they will accept God and Jesus as their saviour.
no idea what you mean by: 1/2 are encouraged by the Christian god to be broken every time you turn around
@whiteowl1415 God orders people to do things like kill&loot b/c people did things wrong, and those are the consequences. after leading the people out of slavery w/pillars of fire&cloud, providing them with riches, food&drink, fighting their enemies for them, etc, they make a cow out of gold and start worshipping it-anyone would be mad. God, b/c He's righteous&Holy, can't stand these lies. so, while we would start ranting&stuff, he goes extreme, to justify what happened.
Ahh I see, it isn't ok to do any of those things, unless you are mad.
What bullcrap.
You're saying its ok to Rape and pillage as long as the other people don't follow your god. This is where those bullcrap holy wars keep coming from.
God told Moses to tell Pharoah that his people needed to go into the desert for 3 days fully knowing that they wern't coming back. God told Moses to lie to Pharoah
@whiteowl1415 b/c God's Holy, He cant stand it when people do such blasphemy. i didnt say its fine 4 us 2 do it. we're all sinners, corrupt. we carry out God's orders&He'll only tell us 2 do things that're 4 good. if God allowed them 2 keep worshiping the idol/turned away, they'd all rot in hell. its like asking why people're put in jail, death penalty...
how do u know they weren't going 2 worship?&remember that God knew Pharaoh was lying, 2. He already knew Pharaoh would refuse 2 let them go.
Biblical law calls for death penalties in the following cases...
Back Talking Children, any Woman not a Virgin on her Wedding Night, Working on Saturday's
What does the Bible excuse...
Rape, Slavery, Animal Sacrifice
How do I know they wrn't going to worship? BEcause I actualy read the passages where God is telling Moses to lie and Moses is scared he will et caught doing it.
@whiteowl1415 God says men&women r supposd 2 help&respect each other not destroy. Slavery's another form of disrespect&is punished. God creatd animals&He made humans over them. i'm a vegetarian, b/c i <3 animals&i dont like the thought of them dying 2 fill our stomachs when they dont have 2. but i'd take a knife to a bird if God ordered it, b/c He's superior 2 all of us. He created us,&He can destroy us, 2. once we've submit 2 Him as His children, He'll b the best father. a caring, protective 1.
@whiteowl1415 1 Corinthians 11:7-10~A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image&glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 4 man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created from woman, but woman from man. For this reason&b/c of the angels, the woman ought 2 have a sign of authority on her head.
take this the wrong way&it translates into, as u said, woman should serve man. but no. "woman from man" we were created b/c men need us. we r their othr 1/2.
@whiteowl1415 the virgin thing's supposd2b a time 4 rest, prep 4 us. resting on the Sabbath's a form of honoring God's creation&th time He took 2 make us.
if youre talkin about Exodus 4, God never told him 2 lie, Moses said he couldnt talk w/certainty. Moses wasnt deep in his faith then.
sounds like youve read the Bible, but not all of it. Titus 4:9. hw can a man b"self controlled&show integrity&seriousness" but treat his wife badly? while we submit2our husbands, theyre supposd2treat us well:)
Why on earth should a woman have to SUBMIT at all?
No I mean Exodus 3, where God says he will take the Hebrews "into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites" but despite planing to take them out of the country tells Moses to say to Pharoah "Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God"
That's a lie, now after getting context reread Ex4 and you will see Moses is nervous about the lie
@whiteowl1415 that's my answer to you. Exodus 3:18-20. but, out of curiosity...why are you encouraging me to read the Bible and search up verses when you hate God?
Exodus 3:15-20 States flatly, God is comanding Moses to lie.
I don't hate God..You are strawmaning again.
I understand what the Bible is and more importantly the damage it causes to societies. I have never suggested you do anything other than read your own holy book.
@whiteowl1415 God always has a plan, and it's not always what you think it may be, or completely straightforward. when he said he would take them into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey, He meant He would get them there eventually. if Pharaoh had let them go, He could have taken the Israelites on a three-day journey, returned, and performed more miracles, proving His power over Pharaoh.
@whiteowl1415 then i'll switch my age on my channel to 12...i'm sorry i put down a random age cuz i didn't care...i never look at people's ages, because i honestly don't care.
and what do you mean, i don't type like a 12 year old? just because i don't comment like i'm texting (i don't own a phone either, if that clears anything up) doesn't mean i'm not a 12 year old...
Nope, just saying that between the two ages, I would have expected the 18.
Your typing is decently developed and you tend to be on later at night than most parents I know would allow a child up, not to mention on here when many parents would supervise closer, esp in concervative enviroments.
(Shruf) No way to tell, and not relevant to the debate anyways.
Getting so sick of being lectured on what the Bible contains by people who havn't read it.
Bible caused...
Segregation, deaths due to lack of medicine (Some parents think prayer is enough), the Witch trials, Unjust laws affecting people that arn't even of that faith, attempts to prevent real education by forcing myths into class rooms, Manifest Destiny
EVERY advancement the U.S. has ever made, rather scientific or cultural as been done in opposition to Christianity
@whiteowl1415 did God ever say to not use medicine? we can use what God has given us to heal ourselves. it doesn't go against any laws. God can help, but we're not just supposed to sit back and relax, asking God to bless us and heal us like God is our slave.
demons exist in the world, and they exist to drive us away from God. it's not right to have gone and tested every woman who had talent or could do something strange. you have to be someone like Jesus, who knows who the demons actually are.
@whiteowl1415 lemme restate my earlier sentence...did God say we r never allowd 2 use medicine? He tells us 2 kill 2 birds 2 cure leprosy-its a sign of faith, that u trust God 2 do wat He says He will. Samson&his hair, the 3 men&the furnace,Daniel&the lions:some kept faith&in turn, God blessed them. i no some didnt meet good ends. apostles/prophets were executed, dying w/faith&knowing theyd receive treasure in heaven...but 2 u, none of this is valid. i've posted it all b4&im 2 tired 2 do it 2nite
Let me restate my earlier sentence...Until you can PROVE your god is actualy real, what you claim he does or dosn't say isn't relevent.
As to the "Sign of Faith" what do you think the parents of the girl who died because her parents valued prayer more than insulin thought they were doing?
@whiteowl1415 everything that people did in the Bible and succeeded in doing was ordered and supported by God. did He send an angel and order them to pray and not take the meds? i agree that praying is a huge part of the Christian. it really strengthens your relationship with God. but it's not meant to be used as a throwaway sort of thing. we have to mean every word and you'll see God's greatness. check out the true story about Bethany Hamilton. you can see God in her life.
@whiteowl1415 i'm saying that whoever just prays and expects God to do everything because they asked is an idiot. if i was a cancer patient, say, and i decided not to do chemo and instead ask God to cure me, it's all about me. God gave us his creation to work with. we should be using it instead of turning to God without trying. yes, we should always be looking to God. but relying on Him when He's already given you everything you need is ridiculous, unless he has clearly asked u to do something.
@TheRedwallfan101 I just want to say that the chemo is a joke and does more harm to you than the cancer. I personally know two people that have been cured by natural clinics.
@whiteowl1415 Christians should never support child abuse. it destroys the faith. the Christian faith is based on Jesus' death and resurrection and God as a loving father. what kind of loving father beats his child until he the kid cries? no. a loving father will let the kid go his/her way until they need help or hit a rut. and he'll help, not hurt, them. this is what Christianity is based on.
@whiteowl1415 God did order that before. as a test of faith. but he cut it off before Abraham killed his son. and Jesus came down to earth so sacrifices like that aren't needed.
Yeah, but he didn't "cut it off" before the Hebrew people took thie children to the city gates to be stoned to death on the word of God. I was referenceing Deuteronomy 21:18-20....not Genesis
Besides, Abraham being willing to sacrifice his son (called off or not) means Abraham was an evil person, wiling to kill in the name of his god.
@whiteowl1415 ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ the new covenant was made so Jesus would take these punishments on his own head. before Jesus, God had to punish people for what they did.
like i said, what God ordered Abraham to do was a test of faith. Abraham loved his son. he trusted God to take his son away from this evil world into a better place.
Sorry. Assumeing that your god is real and created everythign. I disagree that he has the right to demand murder. A parent creates thier child, dosn't make killing the child right.
@whiteowl1415 i don't think of it as killing. that's the human, crueller term. i think of it as sending them to a better place. that doesn't make murder right, i'm just saying that if God orders it, then He has His reasons and if you've truly confessed your sins to Jesus, there's no fear in dying-it would be something you would do willingly if God said He would rather have you in Heaven than on Earth <3
"i don't think of it as killing. that's the human, crueller term. i think of it as sending them to a better place"
the idea taht you could think of that is, quite frankly frightning. That is exactly the type of mentality that leads to extremism,, terorism and genocide. The idea that your are Mercifuly dening a person to a better palce a step away from the idea that you are helping "better" the world by killing unbeleivers.
@whiteowl1415 i also believe that everyone has a purpose here on earth...and that if you don't accept Jesus as your savior, you won't go to heaven...so no, i'm not going to start killing people to send them to heaven. i never will. i'm just saying that if God clearly orders it, He has His reasons. reasons that we likely won't understand because He's God and we're just humans. His creations.
I understand what you are getting at, but do you understand how suceptable that can make people to doing violence out of a delusion that it is what God is telling them to do through the Bible, or a preist?
i.e. People who think Gays are against God and beat them, People who kill nonbeleivers, Sucide Bombers, parents who disown nonChristian children?
@whiteowl1415 homosexuality's a sin. it goes against what God made us 2 b. we all sin in some way, so there's no diff between "them"&us. i dont know anyone who's gay, but i believe that i wouldnt treat them differently than any1 else. ppl who kill nonbelievers cant be Christian. being Christian is ur own choice. nonbelievers' punishment will b given by God, not by ppl. my nonChristian grandad disowned my Christian mom. you have to study and understand the Bible in order to do God's will.
"ppl who kill nonbelievers cant be Christian" - Sorry, that isn't going to fly with me. Religious people keep trying to distance themselves from the evils done in the name of thier religion by claiming the people who did them wern't realy of that religion. Thats bull crap.
There are Christian terroists, the KKK is a Christian based orginization...I know religion teaches people to ignore reality, but reality dosn't just go away
"I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword" (Matthew 10:34)
They can find Bible aspects to support what they beleive as easily as you can. Christianity as an instiution causes this, rather your god is real or not, rather he approves or not. They are part of the religion, and you don't get to deny it just because they are the embarassing members of the religion
@whiteowl1415 "They can find Bible aspects to support what they beleive as easily as you can."
in that case, there really is no point in me arguing with you, is there? you can take God's word in so many ways. Eve ate the fruit because the Serpent twisted God's words.
Rather or not people beleive in the religion isn't the issue. The issue is that is can be twisted so many different ways.
I've never had a problem with anyone beleiving just about anything. It is only when they start acting like other people should follow THIER version of it that the issues begin.
In short, while Your version of Christianity might be more noble than a KKK members version, in the end, its still only your version
@whiteowl1415 my dad counsels people on how to manage their family and marriage. i get to talk to all these people. some were already Christians when they came to find help. the others have all com to God. none of these have hit their children. my dad does not support child abuse. he supports building a family and a relationship on God. clearly, this is not only "my version" because every Christian i know personally has the same opinion as me on God.
And a KK member will tell you that the hundreds of members of the KK indicate it isn't only thier version.
I never claimed ALL Christians were abusive, I merely indicate some are, and some do so in the name of thier religion.
If an apple has gone bad, it dosn't mean the whole batch is bad.
Religino creates division by its very nature, it is good taht some people can rise above it, but the fact remains it divides people and causes far more strife than it helps
@whiteowl1415 ur point? i'm Christian. i believe in God&Jesus as my Saviour. i understand that people take God's word differently than i, and a lot of other Christians, do. i understand that people r trying 2 change my ways by saying i am supporting child abuse by being a Christian. i understand that this is the Devil twisting the truth. it isnt the religion thats making people think this way. its the way people think.
Do you understand why we Atheists are concerned about Theist though?
Honestly it isn't abot trying to change the mind of everyone who wants to beleive in God, its just about keeping that away from political power where abuse of it can be extreme.
Not to say religious people shouldn't hold office, but that the ones who do should understand thier faith isn't a basis for legal policy
@whiteowl1415 i agree. no1 should force people 2 take up their religion. ppl w/political power should b setting a good example. evry othr Atheist ive met seems bent on forcing me 2 hate God/believe that God doesnt exist. evry othr Atheist seems more hateful than thoughtful. which is why im glad i met u :) u made me think&look into my Bible a little deeper&think from a new POV. only, i think youre pissing God off a bit...
so it looks like u got ur own version of Atheism too :D
In the end, don't we all end up with our own version of everything we think?
My close freinds include Other Atheists, A few Christans, a couple Muslims, a half dozen or so Wiccans...and while I wouldn't count him as a freind, I got a tatoo done by a Preist of Thor
Variety is the spice of life
(I only go all out like your used to from Atheists in reaction topeople that go all out on me with the "Find Jesus or Burn forever", rants)
@whiteowl1415 if God didn't like variety, He'd still be surrounded by nothing. or He'd make us obedient little robots and squish us with his pinky every time we forgot to say thanks.
"Find Jesus or Burn forever" is everything in a nutshell. a rotten nutshell. nobody has to make it sound so negative... ._.
@whiteowl1415 God created people with free will for a reason. so we'll think for ourselves and decide. so He himself does not support forcing the Bible into students' heads, or turning everyone Christian by force. that isn't Christianity any more. Jesus was sent so people would have their life to choose without being punished immediately for their sins. and if they turn to God and Jesus, they will never have to suffer.
Ok if u think ur so right go ! Live ur life ! oh wait ! U have no life! Y u ask ? Cuz u don't believe in anything or have any purpose in life! Oh wait ! Y don't u make a video explaining how this is not life this just a dream were all fake or whatever u think is actually 'right' ! Wait we don't care!!!! So go get a life and try to have a purpose in life ! I hope u know what life means ! Ur so mentally damaged ! May god bless u and help u with ur mental problems ! Wow u have no life but to go a
I think Proverbs 29:15 is a good verse "A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother." I don't agree with punishment until tears, that is not right, the bible doesn't support that but disciplining a child with one spank doesn't leave the child in tears but the real punishment should because the real punishment for their sin is DEATH (Romans 6:23) but God wants them to turn away from sin so that if they believe in Jesus they can be saved from that!
@ndrthrdr1 i could not agree more my father is a man of religion and he just loved to hit me until i cried i am 17now but my parents got divorced when i was 14 but i still have a very violent nature cuz he would always act pissed off and act like he took joy in seeing me cry
@shadonaruto33 i have a friend in her 20s whose mother had screaming fits and took out her pointless anger out on her. so my friend developed the same reaction to life problems. her boyfriend (now her husband) helped her solve them (i hear they broke two doors in the process...) and now they both lead our youth group. i'm praying that God will help and protect you. <3
@ndrthrdr1 "Although the NIS does not address the causes of abuse and neglect" NIS-3 under implications. This study does not support your hypothesis that Childrein raised in a violent environments grow up to think it's normal and resort to violence. Also, I took a look through CAPTA but wasn't able to go into much detail due to time constraints. I was unable to find a reference to violent up bringing causing children to be violent. Feel free to refer me to the passage or another study.
Domestic violence and child abuse take a devastating toll on children and society at large. Early childhood victimization, either through direct abuse, neglect, or witnessing parental domestic violence, has been shown to have demonstrable long-term consequences for youth violence, adult violent behaviors, and other forms of criminality.
From:
Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Youth Violence: Strategies for Prevention and Early Intervention
@ndrthrdr1 Excellent reference. It does a decent job on domestic violence leading to violence in youth. It doesn't explain what they mean by violence in youth i.e. is it physical bullying or just rough housing? It also doesn't fully take into account other aspects that might lead to the violence in children, such as family income, structure and other points described in NIS-3. However, it doesn't describe what spanking does. Spanking is not abuse, it is discipline meant for decreasing behaviour.
beating a child is wrong , but there is a difference between beating and spanking. this guy is trying to make the two equal in nature. spanking a child is not abuse, and when coupled with a demonstration of love, and an explaination of the reason for the punishment. the child understands that.
Well done. You changed two parts of his quote to terms that are not equivelant. The changing of the subject being struck some what makes sense when they're being 'beaten'. However, in the beginning of the quote Mr. Dobson said 'spanking' the child. Spanking works and is effective as a diciplinary measure. We discipline our dogs or our horses by slaps to the face. We aren't 'beating' the animal, we are punishing it to reduce the frequency of behaviour we don't wish to see.
@ndrthrdr1 Really? So when the allies fought back against the nazis that was brutish and sub-human? When Toronto police opened fire on a renegade driver of a snow plow to stop him from killing people (He did end up killing a Toronto police sergeant) that was brutish and sub-human? Spanking shouldn't be the first choice but what if it corrects behaviour that would otherwise be damaging or destructive to the individual, others or property?
@ndrthrdr1 You said "Physical violence of any kind is brutish and sub-human behavior [sic]" The examples I gave were cases against that point on the macro scale, and not on the individual basis. If violence is acceptable on the macro scale then it is appropriate on the individual basis. The creator of this video is very good with finding bible passages to back up his points, since he gives none in this video, I have to assume that there are not any, feel free to quote one to correct me.
@Ofthehouseofbeards yeah but it's also nice that you forgot the part to where you spank whomever your beating till it cries, so if i beat my dog around till it cries and is afraid of me and becomes violent in return, thats regular diciplinary measure? i'm noticing a trend where normal people don't have parent that "spank" them, but sick sadistic fucks had parents that "spanked" them as a kid.
so well done, for being blind to what christians create!
@TheUnwantedBlood So you think physical punishment is soley a Christian thing? You think athiests, muslims, jews, hindus and members of dozens of other religions around the world don't physically punish their children?
I didn't forget the part where the spanking I'm giving to the person I'm beating till it cries because that's not discipline. Discipline comes with a few smacks on the rear and a stern warning not to do behaviour AFTER attempting other methods to correct the behaviour.
Yet, I was made to feel like I was a sexual being that could make a man lust, when I was a VERY young, skinny girl with no breasts or any sexual thoughts. When I finally made up my mind that I didn't want to be unpopular, but to dress & have activities like everyone else, I was told, "If everyone else is doing it, it's a good sign it's a sin!" And was told I was a "selfish, dirty, low-down THING!" They were surprised when I became pregnant at 15 & told me I wrecked the family & Gods work.
While I am a Christian, & disagree with you on some things...you are absolutely right about the abuse. And not only physical abuse. My father was a Baptist preacher, & my mother went off the "fundamental" deep end, when it came to me. I was dressed like the Amish in a public school, taken out of 6th grade square dancing to sit in the hall, beat for doing the twist in my home, & banned from public swimming! This is OPPRESSION! And you can imagine how unpopular it made me.
I'm not sure where I stand on corporal punishment for children (I'm an atheist), but this video doesn't take into account the stages of morality included in human development. Very young children can't "be good for goodness' sake;" they just don't understand it. There are simply actions that cause pleasure and others that cause pain. Again; I am uncertain what I think about this, but this video makes an over simplified case.

MrBonghits666 3 weeks ago
@kecsoup And that's the new version of the bible. Here's the King James version for ya. Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Does not just say punish, actually says beat. Beating a child is wrong plain and simple!
MrBonghits666 3 weeks ago

DeebzDunecat 3 weeks ago
@DeebzDunecat Then who invented the concept of corporal punishment?
GUALLACOL 2 weeks ago
@GUALLACOL I don't know... maybe the people who lived for thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years before Christianity came about. Try the Code of Hammurabi. I'm sure there is something in there about disciplining your children. Right next to the one about chopping off hands for shaking hands improperly. In fact, in the grand scheme of things, the Christian rules are actually quite tame. What an ignorant question. You should get educated before responding to me again.
DeebzDunecat 1 week ago
@DeebzDunecat I'm asking a legitimate question and just because you can not answer it you come back telling me I should get educated. If you want me to get educated, why don't you pay for it and I will ablige you!!!
GUALLACOL 1 week ago

PyroChemicals2 1 week ago
@PyroChemicals2 If you honestly believe that teaching children to not do things because there will be consequences of pain is the reason we live in a world that has wars, cruelty, and social dysfunction then that's fine. I never said you couldn't have a separate belief than mine, nor did I say that other types of punishment weren't effective. I was simply pointing out the lack of intelligence behind the maker of this video. Or at least the support in this video was lacking or otherwise useless.

VeritatemQuaerens 1 month ago
God can save you if you will repent of your sins, profess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe with your heart. He can do this for you. You will meet Him one day and you will either enter into His kingdom or be cast into hell. You will know that He is real one day and I will pray that you will receive Him into your heart to make Him Lord of your life. Your fight isn't with Dobson, but with a holy God and a righteous Judge.

A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfuly framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.

sounds like youve read the Bible, but not all of it. Titus 4:9. hw can a man b"self controlled&show integrity&seriousness" but treat his wife badly? while we submit2our husbands, theyre supposd2treat us well:)
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101

Exodus 3:15-20 States flatly, God is comanding Moses to lie.

whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 God always has a plan, and it's not always what you think it may be, or completely straightforward. when he said he would take them into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey, He meant He would get them there eventually. if Pharaoh had let them go, He could have taken the Israelites on a three-day journey, returned, and performed more miracles, proving His power over Pharaoh.

Nope, just saying that between the two ages, I would have expected the 18.

EVERY advancement the U.S. has ever made, rather scientific or cultural as been done in opposition to Christianity
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 did God ever say to not use medicine? we can use what God has given us to heal ourselves. it doesn't go against any laws. God can help, but we're not just supposed to sit back and relax, asking God to bless us and heal us like God is our slave.
demons exist in the world, and they exist to drive us away from God. it's not right to have gone and tested every woman who had talent or could do something strange. you have to be someone like Jesus, who knows who the demons actually are.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
"did God ever say to not use medicine?" - Actualy, he said, cure leprosy by kiling 2 birds
"demons exist in the world" - No they don't and exorcisms have been known to kill people
Lets try this a different way.
You keep saying God does this or God does that.
Before you can assert God does anything, you have to complete one simple step....
Establish there actualy is a god to be doing these things.
Until you can do that, the rest is moot points
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
Let me restate my earlier sentence...Until you can PROVE your god is actualy real, what you claim he does or dosn't say isn't relevent.
As to the "Sign of Faith" what do you think the parents of the girl who died because her parents valued prayer more than insulin thought they were doing?
Religion is a dangerous psychological disorder
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 everything that people did in the Bible and succeeded in doing was ordered and supported by God. did He send an angel and order them to pray and not take the meds? i agree that praying is a huge part of the Christian. it really strengthens your relationship with God. but it's not meant to be used as a throwaway sort of thing. we have to mean every word and you'll see God's greatness. check out the true story about Bethany Hamilton. you can see God in her life.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
You arn't listening.
I'm not talking about what the Bible does or dosn't teach. the imorality of that book is an entirely different issue.
I am saying that because of the Christian religion people DIE, they die through neglect due to prayer, they die from abuse due to discrimination.
Rather its in the Bible or not, the Christian religion is dangerous to individuals and society as a whole
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 i'm saying that whoever just prays and expects God to do everything because they asked is an idiot. if i was a cancer patient, say, and i decided not to do chemo and instead ask God to cure me, it's all about me. God gave us his creation to work with. we should be using it instead of turning to God without trying. yes, we should always be looking to God. but relying on Him when He's already given you everything you need is ridiculous, unless he has clearly asked u to do something.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101 I just want to say that the chemo is a joke and does more harm to you than the cancer. I personally know two people that have been cured by natural clinics.

@whiteowl1415 Christians should never support child abuse. it destroys the faith. the Christian faith is based on Jesus' death and resurrection and God as a loving father. what kind of loving father beats his child until he the kid cries? no. a loving father will let the kid go his/her way until they need help or hit a rut. and he'll help, not hurt, them. this is what Christianity is based on.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
I agree with your out look on what it SHOULD be, but as a teacher I am confronted with what it often turns out to be.
I like your sense of morality in most of what we discussed, but here is the truth of it, you are more moral than you Bible.
You say "a loving father will let the kid go his/her way" vs Deuteronomy 21"18-20 Which says KILL the disobeident son.
You said, if the Bible told you to kill the birds you would, what if it says to kill your child?
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 God did order that before. as a test of faith. but he cut it off before Abraham killed his son. and Jesus came down to earth so sacrifices like that aren't needed.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
Yeah, but he didn't "cut it off" before the Hebrew people took thie children to the city gates to be stoned to death on the word of God. I was referenceing Deuteronomy 21:18-20....not Genesis
Besides, Abraham being willing to sacrifice his son (called off or not) means Abraham was an evil person, wiling to kill in the name of his god.
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ the new covenant was made so Jesus would take these punishments on his own head. before Jesus, God had to punish people for what they did.
like i said, what God ordered Abraham to do was a test of faith. Abraham loved his son. he trusted God to take his son away from this evil world into a better place.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
If your God brought those laws back....would you kill your child for back talking?
Abraham was willing to kill his child, God praised him for being heartless enough to try it
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 i know that God won't bring those laws back. because we all have Jesus. He already has someone to take punishment, willingly.
Abraham was willing to give his child to God and God praised him for his faith to let another being take his kid and take care of him.

whiteowl1415 2 months ago

The idea that your are Mercifuly dening a person to a better palce a step away from the idea that you are helping "better" the world by killing unbeleivers.
and people think we Atheists lack morals =(
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 i also believe that everyone has a purpose here on earth...and that if you don't accept Jesus as your savior, you won't go to heaven...so no, i'm not going to start killing people to send them to heaven. i never will. i'm just saying that if God clearly orders it, He has His reasons. reasons that we likely won't understand because He's God and we're just humans. His creations.

I understand what you are getting at, but do you understand how suceptable that can make people to doing violence out of a delusion that it is what God is telling them to do through the Bible, or a preist?
i.e. People who think Gays are against God and beat them, People who kill nonbeleivers, Sucide Bombers, parents who disown nonChristian children?
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 homosexuality's a sin. it goes against what God made us 2 b. we all sin in some way, so there's no diff between "them"&us. i dont know anyone who's gay, but i believe that i wouldnt treat them differently than any1 else. ppl who kill nonbelievers cant be Christian. being Christian is ur own choice. nonbelievers' punishment will b given by God, not by ppl. my nonChristian grandad disowned my Christian mom. you have to study and understand the Bible in order to do God's will.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101

Irrelevant. They are Christians.
"I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword" (Matthew 10:34)
They can find Bible aspects to support what they beleive as easily as you can. Christianity as an instiution causes this, rather your god is real or not, rather he approves or not. They are part of the religion, and you don't get to deny it just because they are the embarassing members of the religion
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 "They can find Bible aspects to support what they beleive as easily as you can."
in that case, there really is no point in me arguing with you, is there? you can take God's word in so many ways. Eve ate the fruit because the Serpent twisted God's words.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
Actualy, I think you are staring to get it.
Rather or not people beleive in the religion isn't the issue. The issue is that is can be twisted so many different ways.
I've never had a problem with anyone beleiving just about anything. It is only when they start acting like other people should follow THIER version of it that the issues begin.
In short, while Your version of Christianity might be more noble than a KKK members version, in the end, its still only your version
whiteowl1415 2 months ago
@whiteowl1415 my dad counsels people on how to manage their family and marriage. i get to talk to all these people. some were already Christians when they came to find help. the others have all com to God. none of these have hit their children. my dad does not support child abuse. he supports building a family and a relationship on God. clearly, this is not only "my version" because every Christian i know personally has the same opinion as me on God.
TheRedwallfan101 2 months ago
@TheRedwallfan101
And a KK member will tell you that the hundreds of members of the KK indicate it isn't only thier version.
I never claimed ALL Christians were abusive, I merely indicate some are, and some do so in the name of thier religion.
If an apple has gone bad, it dosn't mean the whole batch is bad.

@whiteowl1415 ur point? i'm Christian. i believe in God&Jesus as my Saviour. i understand that people take God's word differently than i, and a lot of other Christians, do. i understand that people r trying 2 change my ways by saying i am supporting child abuse by being a Christian. i understand that this is the Devil twisting the truth. it isnt the religion thats making people think this way. its the way people think.

whiteowl1415 2 months ago

I think Proverbs 29:15 is a good verse "A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother." I don't agree with punishment until tears, that is not right, the bible doesn't support that but disciplining a child with one spank doesn't leave the child in tears but the real punishment should because the real punishment for their sin is DEATH (Romans 6:23) but God wants them to turn away from sin so that if they believe in Jesus they can be saved from that!

@Ofthehouseofbeards Several. Here are two:
Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA)
Third National Incidence Study (NIS-3) of child maltreatment released by the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN) in the fall of 1996
The second has a newer study backing up the results of that one. It's a pattern. Monkey see, monkey do.
ndrthrdr1 3 months ago
@ndrthrdr1 "Although the NIS does not address the causes of abuse and neglect" NIS-3 under implications. This study does not support your hypothesis that Childrein raised in a violent environments grow up to think it's normal and resort to violence. Also, I took a look through CAPTA but wasn't able to go into much detail due to time constraints. I was unable to find a reference to violent up bringing causing children to be violent. Feel free to refer me to the passage or another study.

@Ofthehouseofbeards an excerpt:
Author: Janet Carter
ndrthrdr1 3 months ago
@ndrthrdr1 Excellent reference. It does a decent job on domestic violence leading to violence in youth. It doesn't explain what they mean by violence in youth i.e. is it physical bullying or just rough housing? It also doesn't fully take into account other aspects that might lead to the violence in children, such as family income, structure and other points described in NIS-3. However, it doesn't describe what spanking does. Spanking is not abuse, it is discipline meant for decreasing behaviour.
Ofthehouseofbeards 3 months ago
@Ofthehouseofbeards OK, violent behavior against children is a good thing. Smack them at will.

beating a child is wrong , but there is a difference between beating and spanking. this guy is trying to make the two equal in nature. spanking a child is not abuse, and when coupled with a demonstration of love, and an explaination of the reason for the punishment. the child understands that.

@Ofthehouseofbeards Physical violence of any kind is brutish and sub-human behavior.
ndrthrdr1 3 months ago
@ndrthrdr1 Really? So when the allies fought back against the nazis that was brutish and sub-human? When Toronto police opened fire on a renegade driver of a snow plow to stop him from killing people (He did end up killing a Toronto police sergeant) that was brutish and sub-human? Spanking shouldn't be the first choice but what if it corrects behaviour that would otherwise be damaging or destructive to the individual, others or property?
Ofthehouseofbeards 3 months ago
@Ofthehouseofbeards You're confusing Americans with Christians (Nazis? Really?)
If your kids start another Holocaust, have them arrested.
If you kids jump on snow plows and attack police, have them arrested.
Physically assaulting them, based on teachings in a book of myths written by barbaric Bronze Age tribesmen?
Please.
ndrthrdr1 3 months ago
@ndrthrdr1 You said "Physical violence of any kind is brutish and sub-human behavior [sic]" The examples I gave were cases against that point on the macro scale, and not on the individual basis. If violence is acceptable on the macro scale then it is appropriate on the individual basis. The creator of this video is very good with finding bible passages to back up his points, since he gives none in this video, I have to assume that there are not any, feel free to quote one to correct me.
Ofthehouseofbeards 3 months ago
@Ofthehouseofbeards yeah but it's also nice that you forgot the part to where you spank whomever your beating till it cries, so if i beat my dog around till it cries and is afraid of me and becomes violent in return, thats regular diciplinary measure? i'm noticing a trend where normal people don't have parent that "spank" them, but sick sadistic fucks had parents that "spanked" them as a kid.
so well done, for being blind to what christians create!
TheUnwantedBlood 3 months ago
@TheUnwantedBlood So you think physical punishment is soley a Christian thing? You think athiests, muslims, jews, hindus and members of dozens of other religions around the world don't physically punish their children?
I didn't forget the part where the spanking I'm giving to the person I'm beating till it cries because that's not discipline. Discipline comes with a few smacks on the rear and a stern warning not to do behaviour AFTER attempting other methods to correct the behaviour.
