  • Nice shirt. That one lead reminds me a lot of Squarepusher. I found your page through your sister's youtube videos. She used one of your songs. Do you have a soundcloud by chance? I make some music as well my friend. I use my Roland GAIA SH-01 with Renoise and Garageband. Check some of my tracks out if you get a chance! /colindesu on soundcloud

  • This song sounds like it would play on that Speed Racer video game.

  • Thanks for taking the time for posting this. You are truly ammmmmazing. I have the same drum machine, got it from sam ash and didn't have as much confidence using it but after I saw your video I know I can do it. Thanks Veg!! From a female who has decided to get off her butt and use the equiptment and make it happen. (Smile, hug)

  • Hey Im thinking of picking up a dr-3 drum machine. whats your experience with it?

What kind of outs does it have?

Have you had any latency problems?

    Trevor

  • I haven't used it all too much, but it's a very powerful and featured machine.

It's got stereo RCA outs (L and R), and 2 1/4" TRS outs, which can either be used as L and R, or just mono on the R, or headphones (single stereo jack) on the L.

    No latency problems at all.

I'd definitely recommend it if you want a solid and feature-filled drum machine.

  • dude sick shit i rock the dr3 aswell still havent figured it out completely its my first drum machine i almost got rid of it than saw NIN live a couple weeks ago got me inspired to work harder on it got any tips for me? i bought mine off a buddy and didnt get a manual so im playin blind right now

  • I like your stuff dude : )

i gotta agree with one of the other guys on here about the drum machine sounding a little too "stock" but I can see through that.

    loverly jams

  • Thanks!

  • yeah, nice job young aphex!

  • hi. i want to get the behringer xenyx 802 too but if i want to make my own melodies do i have to plug my keyboards output into the mixers input and same thing with my drum machine? thanks. i know this kind of doesnt make sense but i nedd to know thank you.

  • Yep that's right. Thanks for watching and good luck.

  • nice aphex wear :)

  • its cool but i dont like this preset sounds...resetdepreset ;)

  • Actually, none of the sounds or patterns are presets. (Well, besides the Boss drum machine drum samples, which I can't really do anything about)

  • what mixer do you use?

  • Behringer Xenyx802

  • wow, that is a small mixer, i was expecting a big 16 channel thing. do you connect all your desktop modules to that mixer? like your shirt, i the aphex twin logo on the back of my jacket, rdj is the best

  • The Boss drum machine is hooked up to the ES1's audio in. The 3 electribes are hooked up to the mixer. The ME-50 is hooked up to the mixer's fx bus.

  • nice mix-very inspiring

  • nice one, you seem to have two drum machines there ?

can i program a drum machine to play a rift on my korg radias, is this possible ?

  • it comes together, but it sounds a little toy-like if you know what i mean. get some analogs dood and rock the shit out of them~

  • Really wasnt sure what to think of the first 30 seconds but it really built into something great!

  • Just had a look at breaking scissors, ES1mkii was the one.

Fook me man you really know how to use these things, i'm gonna have to give the manuals a read through.

  • Groovy stuff.

If you don't mind I'v got some questions for ya.

Whats is that gold electribe to the furthest right of you in the video, and what are the settings you used for the EA they sounded badass.

    Peace

  • The gold electribe is the ES1 mkii.

On the EA1, I have a low pitch single osc saw wave with high resonance and distortion on. I have the cutoff on a motion sequence to keep it dynamic sounding. Though I do have the second osc on a harmonic fifth I believe, which I do turn on at one point in the video. The other part is two saw oscillators harmonic to eachother, fifths I believe, though perhaps an octave apart. I don't really know much else to say, there's nothing special about 'em.

  • f0nky

  • Reminds me of "Body Movin'" bu The Beastie Boys.... nice job man
