@Courtneykolb96 nope.. this phone will be good for another few months, then all the new phones are gonna be dual core processors and all the htc phones will have the new htc sense.. you still have 30 day to play with it, but id suggest use it for 2 to 3 weeks, then get the new evo 3d, the new motorola photon, the samsung within or something with the new 2,3 software.

Battery life..how is it for someone like me who may only talk on the phone for an hour or two and texts throughout the day?

I unplug it at 7:30am-ish and sometimes don't get home until about 9:30 - 10:00pm.

Yeah, I put a custom ROM on my Epic. Have 0 lag now. Love the Epic. Sure the Evo and Evo Shift have a better build quality but in terms of hardware, the Epic is better. Better screen, better graphics, better audio/video.

@SAMMYKID7 yeah it makes a HUGE difference! i dont like the bulky look either, and i have a few phones on me all the time so I dont need it. But if thats your main phone, the bulky 35000 milliamp Battey is MANDATORY! that batt last up to 2 days, and sometimes if i dont use it that much, it will last 3 days on one charge. its definitely worth it.. i, using a 17000 milliamp joint now, and its still slim and last about a day.

@flossy, you have a point about the price. Although, I would pay an extra 50 to 100 dollars for this if it was a true evo (size, spec,etc..) with a keyboard. With that said, I would not choose this phone over the original Evo. The original Evo has great keyboards..landscape, portrait, swype, etc.. Now, I would choose this phone over the Epic only because of the software. Although, when and if the Epic gets the 2.2 or 2.3, it may have the advantage.

This phone is a Diamond Pro with Android. I played with it a couple days ago, and expected more. The phone felt outdated. The keyboard slide was stiff. If I pay $500 for a phone, the slide keyboard should almost pop out automatially. Why name it the Evo shift when the specs don't live up to the Evo? The camera, CPU, and memory have been downgraded. This is not an Evo! This is an E"no". Again, its a good phone, but not an Evo. It's like putting a Mercedes emblem on a KIA.
