Very sad that our oldest landmarks are being demolished. When will all this end. Why couldn''t something positive have been done with this famous old building, something for the youth of today to be involved in? It will probably become another high rise block of flats, disgraceful. Thankyou for sharing.
@kenfig I was born and bred in Maerdy and have lovely memories , you are entitled to your opinion but I very much doubt the people that live there will agree with you !
Very true in what u say. Nobody done anything to help Maerdy Hall be restored to its former glory. But saying that when I worked there before it closed it had a survey done on it and it would have cost something like 2 million pounds to put right.
Everyone who worked there in the later stages tried their hardest to do everything they could. But obviously the task proved much harder than realised.
