She is wonderful: very beautiful, with eyes that can catch our souls from miles away, and with a very good voice, simultaniously strong and sweet. I hope to have more chances to know her career, thank you very much for sharing this video with us.
@ginb1289 Speaking of flaming dancers, go to google and search for 'scopitones gay cowboy'. As another poster wrote, Brokeback Mountain was not the first filmed story about gay cowboys. When I see something like this though, I think of that line from the Simpsons where they are talking about a gay teacher or something, and one of the characters says "the next thing you know, they'll be getting into the arts and entertainment". LIke, what a shock!
Gosh, a dancer who is... gay! Who'd ever have thought! My smelling salts! Get my smelling salts!
Joi Lansing was one of several of Frank Sinatra's sort of girlfriends on retainer, and I think he at least liked her a bit. He took care of her bills when she died of cancer, long ago, at a young age.
I wonder if Kim Carnes was trying to parody this Scopitone in her promotional music video to her version of "More Love"? The similiarities to the dancing and lighting and the movements Carnes makes in the later vid. are striking.
I believe you're right; in all of my searching, I've never found a proper album, or even something on vinyl from Joi Lansing. It is all just visual, and it is a great shame. She was most certainly beautiful, but her voice is also a great pleasure. Too bad we only get the cheesecake we've got, I'd love to hear more. Ah well, something is better than nothing!
For some reason, every time I watch this video I start craving a milkshake.

Joi, the dude just isn't into you. I think he likes guys. ;-) LOL
Joi is stunning and sings great, too.

I agree with the first comment! -:) LOL!
Well, at least Joi isn't nearly undressed in a spider web as in another Scopitone of hers.
Maybe she needs to hook up with James Darren in that Scopitone of his for "Because You're Mine", although she'd have to dress down for him, again.

I'm 22, but is it wrong to say that I rather have Joi than Megan Fox?

No, but I'm 45!

@drcoxcentral No, but it does show the highest order of good taste and an acute sense of fun. But remember, I saw her first ;)

Wow...Joi was able to change outfits so quickly,5 outfits in 2 minutes 49,that must be some kind of record !

Joi had such a great voice. Although she made several of these Scopitones, I don't think there was ever an actual record released on any of them.

Though I really love the version of this more by Sinatra and Sammy Davis, this is a great version. Thanks for the post.

I forgot to mention how good looking the other blonde - in the greenish dress - is in this video. Only Joi Lansing could distract guys from her.

It's a good thing Joi wasn't twirling - she'd knock somebody's eye out.

She did twirl - right at the end - and knocked the piano player off his seat.

Great yes it is. I do however prefer the version of Sammy Davis Jr. and Sinatra. But this is great too, elegant. Thanks.

Miss Lansing died from breast cancer in 1972, but I am sure she will never be forgotten.
I did not know she could sing.

I don't know when this was released or even where it's from lol... But you should hear what Frank Sinatra and Tommy Dorsey did to this song, wow!!
I don't like how they make it seem all happy here, because this song clearly shouldn't be interpreted that way.
This girl is very attractive though, not so sure 'bout that hair though. It's too white.
