Jimmy's suck nuts. I ate there once and the place was so dirty and the food sucked. I went there with a friend and he said the same thing. Jimmy;s suck nuts. I think they feed the dogs to the pigs that keep going there. lol
I lived by Jimmy Buffs in Kenilworth in the 60's in changed hands and became Charlie's now I see on the web Jimmy Buff is coming back to Kenilworth. I hope there won't be any shoot outs.
I used to live right by Jimmy Buff's in Irvington in the 70's . We ate plenty of them. Deeee-li-cious!!! although i live far from there now, i cook them myself every now & then for friends sometimes. Can't find the same bread though, but we Italians know how to improvise. LOL.
this place is dirty and it sucks. Food is very very very BAD. DO NOT WATE YOUR TIME....like i did. you can tase the nasty oil in your food....the whole thing is bad
How come nobody talks about the one in Irvington.?...Jimmy Buff's just slightly off Springfield at Elmwood Ave., which was very popular, but gone now when I checked on Google earth.. The sign was down and the building was empty...unless it reopened...
Buff's is much better than Dicke Dee's. Bigger dogs, better vegetables, and thinner sliced potatoes. Dee's peppers are horrible and the dogs are tiny.
Living in Florida for some time now and my friends and neighbors have no clue what a true hot dog is. The grown men put ketchup and mayo, even cutting a dog into little pieces. It's a damn shame to see this. I often tell them how wrong they are. They just don't get it. I love it when I'm back home in Carteret, N.J. and I pig out on hot dogs. Jersey is the capital of hot dogs, not Chicago.
I to am living here in florida but grew up in west orange NJ ate Jimmy buffs all the time, when my sister played hooky from school she would hang out at jimmy buffs so when she came home everyone knew, she did not go to school, because you could smell jimmy buffs on her clothes lol. those were the good old days. I wish truly wish Jimmy buffs would come to Florida. I miss the best italian hot dogs in the world.
I frequented Jimmy Buff's throughout my childhood, as my grandparents lived in Belleville and owned Ted's Tavern in Newark. I have often told people about JB's italian hot dogs, but I think they all thought I was nuts....peppers, onions, potatoes & hot dogs in pizza bread...???? Glad to have found you online and to know that you are still cookin'! If you haven't had a JB's hot dog with all the fixings, you just haven't had a REAL hot dog.
