  • Parrot: "It's an apple alright . Now get lost!"

  • Very clear diction. Talking birds are great. Once in the zoo a cockatoo was saying to me "scatch my neck, scratch my neck" when a gallah crashed into the cage next to it. The cockatoo turned to it and said "hello darling".

  • Paka is really cute-looking in this video!

  • He looks a little intimidated by the apple. I noticed that he waited until you take it away before he speaks. Does he always eat them in pieces that large? Just curious.

  • When we first train him to respond to a new prompt we find that we have to turn away in order to get a response. No idea why, but it seems to work. He now responds without this little trick.

He usually gets apiece of apple this large. We'd already fed him other veggies prior to making this little clip so he wasn't hungry at the time.

  • I just played this video for Bibi, and she responded with "apple" immediately after Paka said it.

  • That's really cool, but I haven't yet played it for Bibi. I've been out of town all week attending a German language camp at Concordia Language Villages. I really miss Bibi, but I'm having lots of fun.
