This is arguably the best solo performance of Like a Stone (minor flubs aside) I've heard; I've been listening to the audio from this recording for YEARS now, and I believe this is the first time I've seen the video to it. Amazing. Big thanks for uploading this!
Just watched Buckley's Grace. Not impressed enough to put his voice above Cornell's. Buckley hits notes very well. Cornell is older and his voice more scratchy now. But he still has the power and feeling in his voice that are hard for anyone to match. Buckley reminds me of Rush's Geddy Lee but with a better voice. Cornell still wins hands down.
I agree, Buckley did some interesting stuff, but as far as voices go, you can't compare the two. Buckley has a much much lighter tone to it, and a exaggerated vibrato.
cornell has a great vioce. he didnt sell out. hes changed over the year. fucking stupid ppl would you love to play shit over and over again from the 90s the rest of your career thats why there artists so they can make music and do new things all the time. buckley and veddier are no match to chris on vocals music and lyrics by the way
Buckley who? Chris Cornell has one of the top voices in rock at present. He has great vocal range. plus he writes great songs. this isn't the best live acoustic version of this song out there but it is still good. too many people want him to stay with the Soungarden "style". get over it
oh shit....Cornell in 80s was my fav., but he's talkin about the late/great/fuckin brillian Jeff Buckley, he's got an arguement man, wow...thats tough. look up jeff buckley- grace, the ending will blow u away, he could have literally done ANYTHING musically with that voice
are you serious? cornell has a much better voice than eddie vedder. eddie vedders voice is just recognizable and unique. i'd take cornell anyday over vedder.
@queensarah123 Yeah, absolutely. I just realized that a month ago. The funny thing was I wonder why this guy sounded familiar to me at first. LOL. Crystal clear now.
he really fucked up bad on the chords during the bridge part!!! it wasnt even close

This guys voice is unreal! He can sing this song 5 different ways.

What chords did he use for this version?
NeoSoftwarePWNXORZ 5 years ago
I think for the verse is G minor, F, then sort of a D minor variation, then back to F. The chorus and bridge is the same as the electric version.
illdey1618 5 years ago
Am, G, Em7, F.
