The law of physics rule. If you put a Yaris (which is in the subcompact car segment) against a Camry (which is 2 sizes up in the midsize sedan) guess who's gonna get hurt. The Yarias may have a 5 star rating in collisions but the rating is in it's own segment (size of car). So if u crash in a Larger car with a lower rating u r probably safter than in a small car with a 5 star rating.
