You need to do your research, mustangs have a 5 out of 5 star reliability rating and so do a lot of American cars in general. Our 2002 mustang gt has yet to need a repair, our 1997 mercury sable is also a 5 out of 5 star on reliability and our 1996 ford windstar is a 4 out of 5 star on reliability which was stolen from the original owner and found in a barn two years later and still runs fine. I don't know why people think American cars are unreliable although their resale value does suck.
The fact that you're basing your input off of reliability ratings shows that you don't know a whole lot about cars. Those ratings are made by prediction and tests. You don't know how reliable a car is until you've driven it for 50,000 miles. You can't say it's reliable until then. Those ratings are trash, most cars have a 5 out 5 rating. Why do you think the Focus only has a 3-year 36,000 mile warranty? And a 60,000 power train warranty? Even Hyundai beats that warranty. There's my research.
Think japanese cars are more reliable than american cars? when in fact the focus shares the same powerplant as the mazda 3 therefore the car shares the same reliability as mazda let alone the fact that ford has napa which reduces the price on repairs by alot. In general, I don't think Japanese cars are more reliable than American made. And even if Mazda shares the same plant, the design of the car are from out of the country - Manufacturing doesn't have a huge impact on that. Chevy is my favorite car company, though I think cars like the Corolla are more reliable than the Cavalier or the Focus. Like I said though, overall I think American cars are more reliable. My whole point is that the Focus is a car with very little effort.

My friend had a 2006 Focus. He had it for eight months and it had 20,000 miles on it - During those eight months he had the power steering pump replaced four times. FOUR TIMES. He had the clutch replaced and then had to it back because the linkage in the gearbox broke. When he gave it back there was a strange noise coming from the front end as well. Most of the people I know who have owned a Ford have had problems. But they're definitely improving in their newer models. (08 and up).

The GTO is a 67 (maybe 66) but definitely NOT a 65. G35 coupes do not weigh a ton (2000lbs would be ultra-light) , they weigh about 3500lbs.
Aerodynamics on ars this slow have negligible effect, it's all about power-to-weight.

What everyone needs to realize i that they are putting a 6 cylinder against v8's. G35 are in the mid class of sport cars. Yet all these big cars I:E, camaros, mustangs, and challangers are proving themselves against it. Thats embarasing. G35 rolling a 6 going toe to toe with "muscle cars" Kinda puts it in perspective. Plus g35 are heavy!!!

Weight of a 69 Charger 500 Hemi with a 426 3671 lb, you wanna know the real reason? its cuz if you look at that infiniti its a relatively small car compared to an 18 foot long 6 foot wide charger, which has no aerodynamic stylings like the infiniti does, not to mention the difference in transmission technology between the cars putting their power to the pavement

GENERALLY, when it comes to american performance for STOCK cars not concept cars....i like GM the most....so that would make me take the Cadi, Vette, Camaro nany day (although the newer camaro has slight handling problems even tho its based from a z06) but i HATE Ford and dodge/crysler. Dodge engines run cold and dont move well till are warmed upa nd also arent reliable...ford engines are cars in general are cheaply made and can be run into the ground for a nice price but are generally terrible

Drive to Europe, test drive every Ford and then tell me there shitty. All cars don't have a good Resale value unless they are a Super Car, you retard. You need to do your research, mustangs have a 5 out of 5 star reliability rating and so do a lot of American cars in general. Our 2002 mustang gt has yet to need a repair, our 1997 mercury sable is also a 5 out of 5 star on reliability and our 1996 ford windstar is a 4 out of 5 star on reliability which was stolen from the original owner and found in a barn two years later and still runs fine. I don't know why people think American cars are unreliable although their resale value does suck.

The fact that you're basing your input off of reliability ratings shows that you don't know a whole lot about cars. Those ratings are made by prediction and tests. You don't know how reliable a car is until you've driven it for 50,000 miles. You can't say it's reliable until then. Those ratings are trash, most cars have a 5 out 5 rating. Why do you think the Focus only has a 3-year 36,000 mile warranty? And a 60,000 power train warranty? Even Hyundai beats that warranty. There's my research.

Think japanese cars are more reliable than american cars? when in fact the focus shares the same powerplant as the mazda 3 therefore the car shares the same reliability as mazda let alone the fact that ford has napa which reduces the price on repairs by alot. If you base cars on driving experience then you will agree that most people that actually owned or drove an american car normally stick with them. People by a jap car over an american car because of what they hear, not from experience.

In general, I don't think Japanese cars are more reliable than American made. And even if Mazda shares the same plant, the design of the car are from out of the country - Manufacturing doesn't have a huge impact on that. Chevy is my favorite car company, though I think cars like the Corolla are more reliable than the Cavalier or the Focus. Like I said though, overall I think American cars are more reliable. My whole point is that the Focus is a car with very little effort.

@Anthony3926 actually jap cars ARE more reliable. you have given one example. ford owns mazda. i am a mechanic by trade and personally think mazdas are shit boxes. toyotas, hondas, subarus, all are far more reliable. i would say chevys have definatly come a long way though. they are starting to catch up. of course that could be because most of them are made in china now. but overall from my experience jap cars are still in the lead with reliability.

My friend had a 2006 Focus. He had it for eight months and it had 20,000 miles on it - During those eight months he had the power steering pump replaced four times. FOUR TIMES. He had the clutch replaced and then had to it back because the linkage in the gearbox broke. When he gave it back there was a strange noise coming from the front end as well. Most of the people I know who have owned a Ford have had problems. But they're definitely improving in their newer models. (08 and up).

wrong, corvette isnt considered a muscle car, infact the Zr-1 is y absolute favborite car to date right now for the technology. its a beast.
As for the Cadi, the CTS is a very nice car with a tight suspension but not as god as infiniti......The Viper is alright i suppose but i dont really like dodge too much and it definately doesnt hold like the ZR-1

im guessing that you're the type that doesnt like to look at the numbers that show up after a run, well let me school you a little, those numbers actually mean how fast the car went down the track measured in seconds and miles per hour. if you watched the end of the video you'll see that one car ran 14.463 @ 98.3mph and the other car ran 14.830 @ 92.83mph. now according to my calculations 14.4 is faster then 14.8. and who ran the 14.4??? the infiniti g35. so who didnt stand a chance???

it doesn't even matter how many cylinders or what engine size anymore. Take a look at the nissan gtr, it's a v6, and take a look at a benz sl65, it's a v12....they're both fast.
Engine size doesn't matter as much anymore. And besides, most GM v8s an v6s have AFM, which shuts off half the cylinders unless needed...

a g35 is not a ricer. a ricer is a car that adds a trashcan muffler, 2 foot spoiler, 20 inch subs, white rims, and racing seatbelts to a car. A g35 is a beautiful car, but so is the GTO. They were neck and neck, and the g35 won by a tiny bit. Not to mention the GTO is how many years older than the 35?

Actually most of the time we dont compare them, the tuners come to us for comparison, just as the Corvette goes to Europe for comparison, because competition is about knocking off the guy on the next highest podium. We've come to the point where muscle cars get the same economy and handling as tuners with gobs more power, its a no-brainer now
And i defend Nascar, its a major strategy sport, it just gets compared in all the wrong places by ignorent people

And personally I dont care for handling, if you give me two drivers, one with a nimble tuner and one with a boat of a muscle car and they both pull the same time on the same road, who are you more impressed with? you have to be a better driver to drive muscle.

First of all are you trying to call the GTR a muscle car? and the GTR is considered a supercar all over the world since it runs with high performance cars that are twice it's price (and the ZO6 on the track and the 1/4 mile). Plus, if you claim to outclass imports, then why do you always want to compare them? and when an american car looses you guys get super PO'd.
