Ming and Qing Dinasty had only a bare "relation" with these areas. Han Chinese have never "govern" these - Han Chinese were and are "unwelcome" immigrants only. Tibet, East Turkistan, Outer Mongolia declared independence after Xinhai Revolution 1911 (Inner Mongolia 1939), which China has ignored until today.

What I have found is that you hear most media around the world show Tibetans being dominated by Chinese officials in the news.
