The consevative movement needs to have a firm foundation in God. If we don't have God as an objective standard for truth, value, and for what ought to be then how can anyone argue for any postion (political or otherwise) and it not be anything more than an opinion at best, posing as what should be?

What about those who may think the opposite? Once you get past all the emotional appeals how do you argue one stance superior to the other?
People "know" inherently what is moral and what isn't. The average Atheist knows it aswell as the average Catholic. A big part of the moral code is inherent and a big part is complemented by family, community and society.
Also, you can't argue one is superior to the other you're right. But this is a nihilistc argument that doesn't favor the religious case either.

Just check out some basic Mormon beliefs and you will find that part of their theology is that god was instrumental in the Constitution and the founding. They have an infatuation with the founders as well. I too love the founders but realize they were flawed humans.
