  • I use a sluice box on the NSR as well

  • Ah! the good old days, no longer able to go down to waters edge with a vehicle, Devon town council decided without any consultation, to close both sides of river.

Fascist bastarts! still, an election is around the corner so maybe some will have to get another job. In the meantime the Mayors name is Anita Fisher, you can find the bitch at... mayor@devon.ca send her an email and tell her what you think!

  • @fuandback

I haven't been out there this year but I had heard about this. That is totally depressing. What was the reason they closed vehicle access?

  • @3D42Jamie01 On enviro grounds, vehicles in the river etc. The only good thing about this noisy dirty unfinished fascist run town has just been taken away, as far as I am concerned they can all go and rot in hell

  • thinking about picking up a desert fox or even a better one..found any more decent locations? was this close to the Devon bridge?

  • i was down their today looking around and doing a little panning, and have decided to get a sluice , was that you who made those two holes up river, i heard their is a group of prospecters who meet up their every year do you know the name.

  • dude your sluice is set up way too steep, 3/4 of the gold is washing straight through, why dont you drop it to 3 inches per 2 foot of run. your box looks about 5 foot so you should have it about 7 or 8 inches up out of level not 3 feet LOL..

  • @7777dmith7777

    yeah, that slope is nuts

  • @biggrex Ya man You kick ass !! anyone that hunts for gold is good in my book !!! i sucked too when I first got into it . I made a sluice box with the riffles totally backwards and i used it for 2 days before some dude came up and was like ?? .... Wtf ARE YOU DOING !! lol !!! Keep hunting and you can't go wrong.. Peace ...

  • Damn i went on a rafting trip there one time that's why I thought that place looked familiar where is devon near rocky mountain house or something????

  • @ipodtester1

Devon is actually just about a 15 min drive South-West of Edmonton.

  • dude i live in devon, u were just under the bridge hey, how much did u get ?

  • @smoke9699

Last time I went out, I got about 6 grains.

That's around $10 worth. Not going to be quitting my day job anytime soon. I just like collecting it.

  • i dont if u seen that guy down there a couple of years ago, he was pannin all summer and he had like half a pop can full, it was funny cause i watch him dump about 1/4 of it back in, he triped and droped it lmfao it was funny

  • nice video

  • r u irish? terible music. bet you washed out alot of gold.

  • Oh my, why such steep an angle?? You're darn near at 45 degrees there...

I run mine at probably 2" drop, total, on a 4 foot sluice. I think if you drop your angle you'll get a lot better recovery.

  • LOL. Don't be scared. Gold is heavy. ROFL. Not to seem ignorant, but are you black?

  • Er... huh? What made you even think of that question?

  • Just ignorance I guess. Drunkness too. Love you. Get down like James Brown.

  • Haha no hard feelings Tinkles.

  • @Ssmallfry your drop should 1.2" to 1.8" per foot of sluice box

  • so where do you sell this gold?

  • I'm just collecting it at the moment. I honestly don't know where to sell raw gold.

    :(

I think there is a refinery in B.C. that buys raw gold but I haven't looked to hard into it yet.

  • Nice little setup you have there. Alot of people seem to be skeptical these days. I have a Keen sluice (4 ft.) can't remember what is cost. Then bought a gold miner spiral panner around ($275.00) then decided to buy a backpack dredge (four stroke honda motor $750,00 "OUCH"!) I'm proud to see you out there making the effort! This type of endeavor requires alot of will and determination. I can't get anyone to go with me, they can't hang with real work! Best of luck to you, I hope you prosper.

  • thnks for the poormans way to find gold. Im building me oe of those sluice boxes. After checking out the prices .Ever thought of doing a video of how to build a sluice box? How does the water react to the usage of wood?

  • @gargole661 they used wood in the 1800's so it must work and it does

  • theres no way you got that much gold in that short of time

  • The magic of film editing. That was from slucing for a few hours. Not just a few minuets as it seems in the video.

  • I see

  • I am a gold prospector, my dad, my nephew and I were working a small creek that ran through an old gold mine. Each of us took home over 800 pieces of gold that Sunday afternoon.

  • Wow! I wish the rivers and creeks near me where that productive.

  • is that your acual job? Because that pretty much describes my ideal job

  • Oh God no! It's just a hobby. I'm an animator. Check out the rest of the videos on my channel. :)

  • very nice!

  • Just got my first gold on NSR past week. I really like your setup, and enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing!
