its sounds early european..most likely german/austrian like a lot of classical music is. we can onlyadmire that other cultures perform this music as well as their traidtional music (which does sound asian)
@for that racist jghamm (I'm not gonna tag him): how could Brahms sound so Asian? so you're telling, when Asian play classical, it'll be boring? Actually, Asian are better when it comes to music-they have this feeling whenever they play a song that makes it beautiful (NOT BORING!). I know classical can make people sometimes sleepy, SO WHY THE HECK DO YOU LISTEN TO CLASSICAL? DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW TO PLAY A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT??? so stop being a racist-sissy, f.y.i. ASIANS HAVE AWESOME FOOD ! ! !
No rough edges...everything singing, and her bow arm looks like it's eight feet long and totally relaxed from end to end! Truly interesting - and wonderful - to hear the legato kept through the loud passages!
Though disparity does exist between my familiar Brahms and Suwanai's performance, I love her interpretation.
When I listened to the sounds I ignored the video, and it indeed added a sort movingly delicate, feminine and subdued emotion to Brahms' feelings in such a condition... illegitimate love for Clara. Charmingly sad it is....
ive seen many page turners sit so behind...maybe ur rite.....bt how will dey read the notes....when i do page turnings i only read the violin part frm the piano score...its too confusing to read the piano part...so many notes at a time...yuk....
lol, thats funny cause today when i was page turning for a friend, i sat right next to em so i could read the tiny music notation on his poorly printed manuscript.
Wish I could stop myself from scrolling down, reading the comments.
The music is wonderful. Why unload your anger in such splendid company?
Ignorance is annoying, so is loathing of ignorance.
I like it when they block for comments!

@Fi2pianist You are ill informed. Race does not predispose one to better musicianship. You yourself are being racist by believing such a thing.

Completed during a summer break spent at Lake Thun, Brahms dedicated this sonata to pianist/comductor Hans Billow who died a tragic death.
Brahms wrote many sonatas for the violin but only three exist today.

I really enjoyed her Tchaikovsky performance. This shows how she continues so excellent. Thanks, Paanyax.

Why does the page turner sit so far back? Is it to not be distracting to the pianist?
