This is so true! Coming from a foreigner who'd lived in the US for a bit. I mentioned finland had the best educational system and these group of people were like, "really? You mean it's not the US?" and someone went, "where's Finland?"I kid you not.
@ladyjane1324 That's not all, people would say stuff like, "I bet America's a lot more different than your country, over here we have so much money", assume I didn't speak English, this girl wanted to study overseas but didn't know whether to choose Canada or England since "they're the only countries in which people speak English". That's not to say there weren't better educated Americans I met, but some of the assumptions were really entertaining to say the least XD
WOW.. these are true... and actually both ways.. because a lot of foreigners say some of these things to americans..lol ok one example my boyfriend is ALWAYS showing me something and saying, "yeah in mexico they have ... blah blah blah"... it could be medicine, etc...lol it drives me crazy sometimes but i get it.. one is always proud of their hometown and assume theirs is best.. but i know this is all in fun... but WATCH, someone is going to fake being offended.
