I feel like there is a better way to discipline your children or in this case teenage neices and nephews. But, every child is raised differently, and if disciplining your children consists of a belt or any object that inflicts pain onto a child, teenager etc, then so be it. We do not know what the kid was doing. He could have been bullying, but we don't know exactly what he did. He wasn't physically harmed, the discipline was prompted by unacceptable behavior, and while it may have been embarrassing for the kid, it's no different from a kid being made to admit in a store they were trying to steal. I was concerned when I noticed the belt, but the smacks were limited to non-sensitive areas.

I feel like there is a better way to discipline your children or in this case teenage neices and nephews. But, every child is raised differently, and if disciplining your children consists of a belt or any object that inflicts pain onto a child, teenager etc, then so be it. As a child I did recieve "whoppings" and humilation from my parents in public If a child wants attention from parents or others they will find a way to obtain it try talking they will listen and deserve unconditional love

We do not know what the kid was doing. He could have been bullying, but we don't know exactly what he did. For all we know, he could have been just talking fresh to some girls...which is still not good but definitely does not deserve a hitting for. On my fb some of my friends posted it and was laughing. He wasn't physically harmed, the discipline was prompted by unacceptable behavior, and while it may have been embarrassing for the kid, it's no different from a kid being made to admit in a store they were trying to steal. I was concerned when I noticed the belt, but the smacks were limited to non-sensitive areas.
