Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was having a go (it prob. did though) it's just that I couldn't possibly single out one album. I like Keane, I think they've got some talent and write good tunes. However, lyrically, with one or two exceptions (Bad Dream, Frog Prince, Hamburg song), they're lyrics are too trite for me - they say everything and nothing at the same time, as if they're trying not to offend anyone but at the same time have to appear profound. They're average.

Well, thanks for the reply, it's all good. When it comes down to it, it's just a matter of personal taste. I love their lyrics, which is part of the reason H and F means so much to me. It doesn't mean anything to you, but there is some other album that does. So to each their own

I do like them though and there's a place for them - I like Strangers a lot, and also She Has No Time - both are beautiful songs. It's just that compared to say Dylan, the Smiths etc., who actually have something novel to say with imagery and poetry that is mature and challenging, I find Keane's words middle of the road - they're not bad, they're not good, they're just so-so. Still, as you say, each to their own, it hardly matters what music people like, and I'll be buying their new album!
