We used to have a Mercedes Benz SUV, but in 2006 we bought a Volvo SUV (XC90). The Mercedes was horrible, and broke down in the middle of Tennessee. Last year, we got in 2 near-wrecks with our volvo. the first happened when a man was in the wrong lane when we turned into our driveway. his car was totaled, and ours was FINE. the next time a car slammed into the car behind us making it hit us. we were FINE. the other car was totaled. Volvo has GREAT safety! (and reliability)
The key has a button to turn on the accent LED lights, incredibly cool for showing off your car plus its really stylish and has an incredibly ergonomic interior.
Very nice vid, though it is missing something. You can definitely tell how you've grown in the past year+. It doesn't have the discriptive content your newest videos. It's all good, though.
@Yuentsun get the Volvo man, its gorgeous, more reliable, and will last a LOT longer, also is safer, the s80 has always been the safest car ever (no lie)
I really like the new S60. But I think when it comes time for me to buy a new car I may just go for the 2011 9-5. I do love Volvo. But I can't pay what they want for the new S60. It's outrageous.
@tobythesandwich dude then get a 2003-07 Volvo S60R. Speaking from personal experience its the best car Ive ever bought. very fast too. 300ph stock. Go for the manual. Quicker. I bought mine is Massachusetts for 14,000 last summer. well that and check out a race in between the new s60s and the old ones. The R models anyway. Guess who will win?? ;)
@paradox111490 My main problem is any S60R at a reasonable price is right when it needs all the major maintenance. So sure I'm getting a decent S60R for $14k. But then I gotta put another couple hundred in the timing belt job, and then the suspension needs refreshed which is outrageous due to Volvo's active suspension system. It's just not worth it in the long run. Not to me at least.
@tobythesandwich well you got a point there. The refresh was like 500 bucks but I havent had any needs to adjust the belts. So far anyway. Too each his own.
@usnusa2003 This car is not made in an Asian country. It's made in Sweden. Unless Volvo believes that the quality of vehicles produced in China for the Chinese market are good enough for the US market, then they will not bring them here.
@fordryan0930 You're telling that to a Swede, who even worked at the Volvo factory. I was saying that Volvo's owned by a Chinese company. The HQ is still in Göteborg, Sweden and the cars are produced here (S80, V70, XC70, XC90 and V60) and in Gent, Belgium (C30, S40, V50 and S60). I hope it remains so.
@usnusa2003 um yeah ford may have sold them to Zhejiang Geely buy most of the production is still in Sweden. a factory will be built in china next to Beijing but its still a Swedish car. Always has been. you wouldn't call it American because ford owned it would you?
I love how Volvo puts the driver information system in the middle of the gauges rather than between them like most cars....could you please review the 2012 S80?
I'm an audiophile, and though I would love to own this vehicle, it doesn't seem to allow for customized audio applications such as installing a head unit or adding a subwoofer. Sad to say, but other luxury vehicles do offer this option. Therefore, I would pass on the idea of owning this vehicle. :(
Before you consider buying a Volvo, remember that Volvo is now owned by a Chinese company called Geely, which means that every single new Volvo is anything but safe and Swedish, but designed and built in China by Chinese people. So, if you think you're new Volvo is safe and made by Swedes in the best possible way, you're absolutely wrong.
@markus11chung Yeah, I know that. Of course their headquarters are still in Sweden. They built them there, and they can't just move them from one place to another, depending on which country owns the rights to the company, you jackshit.
Cadillac, Volvo, Saab, Chevrolet - почему у всех одинаковый руль? Дизайнеры выдохлись? Cadillac, Volvo, Saab, Chevrolet - why all the same wheel? Designers exhausted?

@PS2Gameplays It`s very simple in my opinion. Volvo has many ideas, but they don`t have the money. Until now. Geely already brought hundreds milions. As you say, in 5 years Volvo will be able to fight with the german trio.
@UnRoman111 I know, bro. Why do almost every single car manufacturer have to be onwed by various companies all the time? I mean, Volvo was sold to Ford in 1998 and Ford sold it to that Chinese company in 2010. So Volvo's haven't been Volvo's since 1997. But at least they still make them in Sweden.
@MacGyver920 yes sir. That is so bad because i paid a lot of respect for Volvo. But i am now a fan of VW-AUDI and SAAB. Tough is funny that today Volvo is considered one of the safest cars on the market, but Geely is the unsafest ...just check on youtube GEELY CRASH TEST and you will vomit. These Geely are so unsafe that even at 25 mph you DIE!
@MacGyver920 There is nothing we can do anymore man, but one thing is for sure: I will never buy a Volvo. I 'll stick to Euro models and maybe, just maybe...for a Honda Accord.
Beautiful and awesome intelligent car with tons of dependability and power..just like a Volvo. Now make a video of you parking it in my driveway please.
Looks like the one that I bought yesterday but the steering wheel is on the right hand side. This video was a really big help for me to buy the new S60. I used to have an old V40, like the one you reviewed on your channel. Thanks Kyle.
Why is ppl complaining about bland exteriors and bland interiors on volvo's? They're great! Simple works, you don't need the style, if u want a simple, nice luxury car.
@1006Will Lol dude, the keyless system is just fine, put the key in the slot and start it. The keyfob isn't ugly, it's a simple shape, take a look at the jaguar ones, they're ugly. The speedometer dosen't look cheap, it's what volvo does in there cars, who cares about piece of leather on the gearbox, there's no need. How in the heck is that hazard button ugly? It's a simple hazard button lol
@20Quirke08 It depends on what you're looking for. If you are looking for a sporty little sedan with cool-looking details, the S60 is a good bet. If you are looking for a luxury, full-sized sedan with luxury details, then get the S80.
@jvswerbo What do you look at when you get into a car? Yes. The interior. Volvo have consistently proven to make the ugliest exteriors with the most boring interiors. If it weren't for it's safety ratings I wouldn't think they'd sell any of them. Good thing they have reliability and cost of repair going for them. Oh, wait. They don't have that either.
I LOVE the new 9-5 exteior, its mean looking and aggressive. However I HATE the interior. It looks dated centrer stack and then the vent styling across the dash hurts my eyes. If it wasn't for the interior styling (and the steep price) I could talk with the saab dealer.
I test drove the T5 yesterday and all I can say is WOW, the ride is comfortable yet sporty, the acceleration and shifting are smooth and seamless, being that it costs about 6 grand less than a BMW thats optioned the same, I say its one of the best bargains out there, an unsung hero if you will
@applesmnch2 Yes they are popular in the United States, especially in the Northeast, New England in particular. There are plenty of aftermarket suppliers who produce Volvo parts when factory stuff is NLA.
@daveyferraro1602 No it's not - Volvos are some of the most durable and reliable cars on the market. If you own one, you will need to find a competent and certified Volvo independent mechanic. The average age of these vehicles when they are discarded is 19.8 years.
I though the underarms were Aluminum. In the factory build promotion video, they are made from aluminum but shown here they are steel. I have still yet to test drive a S60 but the BMW and Audi have aluminum underarms.
My 1st Volvo ('93 940 136K mi) that I still drive with great joy, has been flawless. My current and 2nd Saab ('99 9-5, 1st was an '87 9000 turbo) is also a terrific car to own/drive. Volvo, previously owned by Ford has been sold to a Chinese company whiched concerned me. My Volvo service advisor has told me that the arrangement is the same as with Ford, mainly financial backing from the new owners and that Volvo still operates independently making all of the design and engineering decisions>>>>
@bhigdaddymark thank God, but he quietly warned me that it will not be long before we start seeing Chinese parts working its way into this quality car brand and that concerned him and the other service advisors at the dealership. I didn't know if you knew this or not, so I thought that I'd mention it. Truth be told, the Chinese make inferior unsafe crap products and shouldn't have favored nation trade status (thanks Bill Clinton), so get your new Volvo NOW before they ruin a great car folks!

5. change the speedometer, looks cheap

7. Startstop engine button and hazard buttons are ugly.

I though the underarms were Aluminum. In the factory build promotion video, they are made from aluminum but shown here they are steel. I have still yet to test drive a S60 but the BMW and Audi have aluminum underarms.

@saabkyle04 Just for the future, the 2004+ Volvos (S40, V50, C30, C70(2007), S60(2010) and XC60 have automatic lights. You can never turn them off.

what you thing better s60 or s80?
20Quirke08 1 year ago 21
@20Quirke08 S80s the biggest sedan that Volvo makes. Its similar to the 3, 5, and 7 series that BMW has. 7 being the biggest etc.

@20Quirke08 With the new T6 Engine, the S80 seems like a waste, with a less powerful 3.2L engine, and costing $10,000 more.

great video as normal. question: do you think you could find a '07 or higher S80 with the 4.4 V8?
dmatthews210 1 year ago
@dmatthews210 There are no V70s with V8s only S80s
norra124 1 year ago
@dmatthews210 I have never seen a Volvo S80 with a 4.4L V8 engine... ? i have only heard that the 4.4 V8 comes with the xc90.. :o
coolapa4 1 year ago
@coolapa4 Few sold with the 4.4 V8 since most of them were old people who either got the T6 or 3.2 inline six.

My Volvo service advisor has told me that the arrangement is the same as with Ford, mainly financial backing from the new owners and that Volvo still operates independently making all of the design and engineering decisions>>>>
bhigdaddymark 1 year ago
@bhigdaddymark thank God, but he quietly warned me that it will not be long before we start seeing Chinese parts working its way into this quality car brand and that concerned him and the other service advisors at the dealership. I didn't know if you knew this or not, so I thought that I'd mention it. Truth be told, the Chinese make inferior unsafe crap products and shouldn't have favored nation trade status (thanks Bill Clinton), so get your new Volvo NOW before they ruin a great car folks!

nic e ride, do they make it in men's??

Run into a semi-truck head on at 120 MPH. Walk away without a scratch. That's Volvo.

In many of your videos you say it's in depth tour.We get just review without tour and that's bad!!
Don't be angry - I like your videos.

I like Volvos but I think they should work on the design of their interiors. Center console layout is wierd and steering wheel looks weird as well.
EliteSlayer542 1 year ago
wow that car has a lot of setting- accident prevention, active bending lights, steering wheel force adjustment!

I only have one problem with this car....Wheres the stick shift version?! If they make an s60R hopefully they will offer it with a stick.
