no offense but this isnt really my style of music...but i had to read "The Masque of the Red Death" by Poe for English! the story is pretty good though!
@froggyluva0014 haha well some songs are really good summaries of stories or poems. One of my teachers once used Iron Maiden's song "the rime of the ancient mariner" instead of the studying the actual poem...the poem itself is ridiculously long anyways to understand.

@BigishJim1 try rough cutt, and teh first album of white lion im heavy into the less commercial 80's metal bands especially teh hair metal bands they have something more raw about them
@BigishJim1 you should really try powermad, Gogmagog, Uriah Heep they kinda remind me of UFO. And if havn't heard of Lizzy Borden or the recent band Hibria they are both a must.
@BigishJim1 Barren Cross.. atomic arena or state of control cds.. Their self-titled,1st release has a few good songs on it, a well; but Atomic Arena is a classic.. just killer!

@BigishJim1 Warlord, The E.F. band, Omen, Fastway, Keel, Prett Maids, Metal Church, Virgin Steele, Witch Cross, Angelwitch, Diamond Head, Coven, Sword, Storm Witch, that should be plenty for now haha
@BigishJim1 I loved this band back in my rocker days and Powermad was one that listened to alot also. You might also try Fifth angel, sanctuary, And if you have'nt yet, listen to operation mind crime from queensryche it is truly one of the great rock operas.
I've got it. It's an acquired taste for many CG fans. Some have even gone as far to say that it's their "Cold Lake" (referring to Celtic Frost's "hair metal" album). I dig a lot of the album, but Midnight sounds like he's struggling on a few of the songs; trying to find his way. Those songs are a bit cringe-worthy, but the album is nowhere the disaster it was made out to be.
As for Crimson Glory its easy to make the Maiden connection and i bought the first two LPs when they came out in 1987 and 1988.
I saw them at my local club in Reading supporting Kreator in 1989 which i thought was unfair as both bands couldnt be further apart(although i am a fan of both).
Best song? In Dark places coz it reminds me of Zeppelin's Kashmir! Oh well nuff said.

Just for the record, I went and compared Powerslave and this song with my ears, and the riffs are actually noticeably different. They just sound similar. Overall, this song sounds totally different than Powerslave anyway.
@jcdenton7 it's the sound quality fo this video that makes it sound anything alike... they really are two completely different songs... both great by the way...
@dngl21Don't bother my friend!..you may find similitude in Ozzy's work (+ Black Sabbath's of course if not mostly..:)) with...almost hundreds of artists..
About this 1...in my opinion what you 're saying isn't totaly imaginary..maybe..sounds like it for the very first secs...than you 'll notice the absentee 'enormous' bass

I agree this is the worst song I have ever heard. This is sounds like a bunch of screaming with random gutair notes in the back round. And the lyrics basically just say "red death WOW, FATE HANDS, WOW red death, WOW, kills all, WOW!!!!! WOW!!!!!". Seriously!!!!

I never really got Maiden. They were always second best to U.F.O. and Priest who in my opinion were superior.
But what Maiden ripped off from those bands they turned into big business.
And today its business that counts more than originality which is what Maiden have never ever had.
They are plagiarists, very good plagiarists thats all.
