  • this sounds just like my sister...I'm not kidding. Shit what do I do...

  • creepy face @ 3:29

  • Where are the highs? I would never tell anyone If was angry or upset or needed them, I thought this was a common symptom.

  • Where are the highs?

  • it was her f*cking fault for leaving her extremely bipolar brother with her husband. He begged her not to go maybe because he knew it was going to happen and coudln't control himself. She said she had a bad feeling but she left anyway. I would NEVER let my husband be in a situation i don't feel good about. dumb b*tch. she obviously thought the trip was more important than the safety of both her brother and husband.

  • 4:22 wi\erd al?

  • This video is bullcrap pull it off the web

  • I always have a hard time watching videos about my illness because I remember the pain, tears, and everything I and people around me went through from when I was 12 to now at 24. But I feel ready to talk about it, but sometimes memories become vivid but youth who have need to know they aren't alone.

  • I think he was more schizo or paranoid than Bipolar !

  • I'm confused because David Chitwood allegedly died from a plane crash in the mountains. So he must have gone on the plane again and crashed his plane into the mountain? Does anyone know if there is another documentary?

  • too bad that this movie comes up as one of the top results when you type in "Bipolar disorder". This man clearly had other problems in addition to BD. If someone researches this condition and sees this video, you are responsible for a misunderstanding beyond your comprehension. I would like to ask that you change the title of the video to be more accurate. Thank you.

  • wow old god sure gave this family an asshole deal in life

  • I have bipolar 1 Disorder and yes I go through a lot of the rage that comes along with the manic episodes however I have no desire to hurt anyone. Bipolar affects people differently and we should respect that just like diabetes affects people differently. The stigma alone is often more painful than the illness itself!

  • @Shakespeartheory Bipolar is a stigmatic word used by psychologist and psychiatrist alike in order to restrain and shape (or Repolarize) more evolved human beings by administering medication and mindless psychological coaching so the diagnosed can cooperate with todays society and its expectations. If shakespeare were alive today he would have also been diagnosed with bipolar 1 and manipulated into becoming something like a lawyer only to write lies instead of the truth about humanity.

  • @MattyTheMole well u have ur right to ur point of view however I don't buy into it. sure there are those who are being misdiagnosed however there is way more 2 it then some conspiracy idea! For I have & do suffer with it not because of some diagnoses label but because I do suffer! It doesn't matter to me what they call it, it is just the fact that I do suffer!! The meds work for some & for some they don't. And if suffering makes us more evolved then perhaps the ancients were more evolved too!

  • mental health professionals i look forward to your criminal prosecutions ill be front row with my popcorn

  • Oh my god I've only just got to the end of this fucking offensive video.

Everyone here with bipolar disorder, including myself is NOT a fucking murdering sociopath. How ridiculous! They don't even talk about seeing him on a high... he should never have been diagnosed with bipolar because he CLEARLY never experienced mania or any kind of elation AT ALL. This is terrible... no wonder people are so fucking terrified of me when this is the garbage they are bing fed about my condition!

  • I have bipolar disorder with schizoaffective tendencies and I must say that although I do get aggressive, it's normally because noone else is moving as fast as I am, or taking risks like I do during mania, and it annoys me that people quite often do not understand that your mind is doing somersaults. I have never been physically violent and I can become very psychotic during mixed states.

  • Most people with bipolar become hyperactive and happy rather than violent!

  • Clam down...just because you don't get violent or aggressive when you're manic doesn't mean other people don't. This is one family's story, not just your own. And it's an honest symptom of the disorder, so unless you choose to ignore that, it's not perpetuating stereotypes, merely reporting on fact.

  • Violence is not a part of it for everyone. It just depends on the person. Different people are impacted in different ways.

That's what makes it so complicated. You can't put a stereotype on mental illness. Everyone is different.

  • Psychiatry is bullshit!!!

  • As Anonpeace noted he's portrayed in a more a sociopathic sense than anything. I believe using the Bi-polar label in a 10 minute video detailing a brothers abhorrent behavior over a span of decades is irresponsible, especially ending in dramatic murder (yeah the shot made me jump too). Yes it's very possible he was / is suffering from Bipolar disorder, however there are so many factors to consider, including other mental health issues and let's not forget personal responsibility too.

  • the title says a family's struggle... not the whole world's struggle. this is one family's experience. not a generalized stereotype. please chill out.

my best friend is bipolar and never hurt anyone either, and never tried to. but that doesn't mean that other people's cases are not more severe

  • This is NOT common for most who have this illness, but I have son, and have witnessed psychotic rage. It IS a mood disorder, and for some, they do have extreme forms that can manifest as rage when they are totally lost in a psychotic state. My son is usually gentle (tho terrible depressed). But, during a couple of very bad episodes, he has been threatening and scary. But, by far, not all have this illness to that extreme. I am the one who feels still feels traumatized by those episodes.

  • DAMMIT!!!! That gunshot scared the hell out of me !! >.<

  • This guy sounds more like a sociopath to me.

  • Comment removed

  • @Anonpeace there are different degrees in which people are affected

  • @lisemarie000 That's true. And it's hard to diagnose someone just by watching a video. But the guy *seems* a bit sociopathic.

  • @EthanODanielTV Yeah this seems way different than bipolar disorder. Or at least there must be another disorder in there.

  • I have bipolar disorder and I have never tried to harm or kill anyone like this movie suggest. That is a stereotype being portrayed and a slightly unfair one at that which causes people in mycommunity to fear disabled people like me. Thank you very much. This makes my life a little harder each day. This causes the oppression we face.

  • me too, that is total bullshit, i've never harmed another living being.. i went through a period of self-harm but i've never been a violent person

  • BTW i'm bipolar

  • @hitjames1994 well some people do that but it depends if you or they have a delusion. I seen it happen before.

  • @stars4autism Yes, I agree that most people who have bipolar disorder don't become violent. This is one family's experience. It is not an isolated experience though. Since we started this film we have heard from many families going through similar struggles. Stigma is broken when we talk openly and honestly about what is really happening and deal with issues with intelligence and compassion. This clip is a trailer. It is not the whole story.

  • @promisefilmcompany 'normal' people can be viiolent as well....

  • @stars4autism This looks more like Conduct disorder to me, and it's normal that this will develop into Antisocial personality disorder when the person is becomming adult. There might be som traits of Borderline disorder as well, and that normal when a person had a rough childhood, and Suesidal thaughts is normal in Borderline personality disorder.

I am a psycriatic nurce, and i have Bi-polar disorder myself, and i work with Bi-polar people every day, an i am 100% shur that this is not Bipolar

  • @stars4autism thanks for speaking out ....i am BP and have developed anxiety from being singled out

  • @stars4autism It's not a *disability*. It's a gift. Beethoven was bipolar, and he used it to his advantage. Fuck you and that attitude.

  • @XxMissNoNamexX its a gift and a curse.

  • @stars4autism it really depends on your situation, i too am bipolar, and i wasn't violent until i started getting bullied very badly in high school, so combo having bipolars with being publicly humiliated, it is infuriating, embarrassing, and you have this anger that naturally you hold in most of the time, then the bipolar hits a certain level, and you explode, i'm not proud of it, but after 7 years of being bullied, a boy on the bus was touching me and saying nasty things, when he turned around

  • @stars4autism i came about a cm away from stabbing him in the neck with a pencil. god willing, something stopped me, i turned my hand, and punched him in the back of the head. i've been in a few fights, when i was younger, the scary thing was one time i was jumped by 5 girls, i remember swinging, then they were all scattered around me trying to get up, i blacked out, i dont know what i did, but i had enough strength to fight off 5 people. seriously, it's scary as hell

  • @stars4autism It is not uncommon for one with BiPolar Disorder to become violent towards themselves or other people. It may not be your experience but it is someone's experience. It's not a stereotype AT ALL.

  • @stars4autism True to an extent. It is a stereotype, but nevertheless there are such cases and they shouldn't be left out of sight, just because we don't like them.

  • jOANNE is extreamly MILFY lol

  • People who generalize are ignorant, Just like "normal" people have different personalities, so do people with Bi Polar. Some are very much under control and live productive lives, people don't even know they have it. Others are out of control, kind of like the people who argue about Anything on the internet!

    Have a Wonderful day!

  • That was extremely scary.

  • Thank you very much chibangin007.

  • bipolar people are crazy.

  • @chibangin007 fuck right so fuck off and run away little canary, no one is sane in this world who are you to judge bipolar people scitzo bitch.

  • @omgthazjulie your comment made no fuckin sense. btw i can judge because i used to have a friend that was bipolar. this bitch went crazy at o'hare airport screaming "IM FREE!" i ran away and took the l back home. biploar people are fucked up and need help. they belong in mental hospitals. youre just mad cause youre probably a bipolar bitch also. bipolar retard! and dont call me a bitch, im a man. not a retard that goes insane in public like yourself.

  • @chibangin007 hey, i don't care what you are YOUNG LADY but if you were bipolar, I know for a fact you'd keep your mouth shut and understand what we go through. I'm not insane but I do admit I have an anger problem but I'm sure your friend was Bipolar 1. You judge people on their acts and don't try to understand what they're feeling in the inside you sir have problems how dare you call me a retard that's not going psycho in public chill out go see a therapist. Stop holding grudges on peopole.

  • Thanks for uploading this.

  • I have bipolar I disorder and manic depression is one thing and not liking a family member is another.

I despised my brother and even if I wasn't "bipolar" I would hate him.

so family members, I hate to be blunt but they may not like you, it may not be "bipolar disorder"

  • @MrSpieldose go to a mental hospital you bipolar retard.

  • @chibangin007 fuk u

  • @chibangin007 you are so incredibly ignorant it's untrue.

  • Why do I try!!!!!! EVERY time I look for an answer I come across a Page/video that is posted by a bipolar person! It starts nowhere has no substance and certainly leads NOWHERE

  • Please be nice on this vlog.

  • btw he has dsyphoric mania not everyone will bipolar is violent. incase people were wondering

  • i think this is bipolar in the extreme, ive had bipolar for about 5 years now and im never this bad,i guess it affects everyone differently.

  • @TheAlienskum I don't know how old you are but it gets worse as you get older :S x I have bipolar 1 x

  • I'm sorry, but gall bladder issues and bipoplar arent even in the same ball park my friend. Evidently, you don't have bipolar?? And please don't answer "no, but I know someone who does" bcoz that doesn't cut the mustard I'm afraid. People with bipolar need both medication and psychological support to live day by day. Preaching doesn't help chemical disorders my friend. You're posting in the wrong place.

  • i like the way it says 1 in 5 patients with Bipola Disorder COMPLETES suicide? wtf using completes makes it sound like a fucking mission.

  • because some of us attempt it and fail. thts wat it means. im one of the ones tht tried and failed

  • Don't tell them that "f" word.

  • Shut the fuck up you stupid jesus freak, jesus can't do shit and he's for sure not the answer to bipolar disorder. What were you thinking when writing such a bs?

  • bad language

  • bad language

  • i trulyyy feel sorri for people who suffer from anyy mentall ilness or disorder and would like to say i understand your pain and what your going trough and it will be better but i suppose at the same time i cant say that cuz im not goin trough the experience your goin trough

  • don't feel sorry for people. It's the last thing they need.

  • yeah but mental ilness causes are different.

He obviously has no controll over his emotions

  • No, don't be sorry..it is not thier fault

  • i know from being bi polar how it feals and yet i question whats realy going on in life after 7 years of very strong medications i finaly stoped now because i cant afford them and now i see the anger all the time, everyone else can see it but this documentery was intresting bc of all the things i have put people threw in my life and how its such a selfish problem and the drugs dont help it. Just makes no sence on what to o bc seems like anythng orevrythng wnt hlp it, Lve and hte tradgic endings..

  • My brother is bipolar & schizophrenic, and the things that he has put the family through WAS enough to drive us all CRAZY. He is living in a shelter now, but approx 10 years ago, the nightmare started. He says that I'm the only one that he trust.

If anyone is interested in the story, i will explain the frighting details. Just send me a message.

  • This is very deep, and a serious disorder. I know of a couple people with Bi Polar disorder. Very informative documentary

  • I'm only just living (managing) with bipolar - do you know where I can see the whole documentary?

  • I know some of the people they showed but I didn't about this. :(
