  • i like pie

  • Why do the reviewers all say the 135 is the entry level BMW? Isn't the 128 the entry level car? The 135 comes standard with 18" tires, performance suspension and a few other upgrades to the 128. Even if you order the 128 with the performance suspension or the M Package, it still does not come with 18" wheels. Hmmm...

  • I drive one of these little guys and its super fun! Its fast and zips around town. Plus you don't have to rev high to get power out of it, Its ideal for city / highway driving. Not as fun on the track as my Miata but overall I'm very happy with it :) The major down side to it I'd say is the price.... around 37k... and a set of run flat tires will empty the wallet $1200 :( I can't wait till I get a 1M but that won't be for a while.

  • I test drove one of these! It's really fun to drive in city traffic weirdly. You can blast from open spot to open spot cause it's really fast and can fit pretty much anywhere ha.

  • 135i should have a lower roofline.

  • it is not a 2009 model!!!

  • wow someone who sees all these new beemers and doesnt think they are the most beautiful things ever. the new ones look like ass but this on is pretty nice and im not even a fan i just like turbos lol.

  • @frank55656 in america...we speak english so any other language that isn't english angers us...me on the other know english, a little spanish, and korean, some chinese (madarin and cantonese) so i guess im not the average american

  • clouted with an ugly stick hahahaha!

  • this little guy hauls ass, fun car to drive

  • I drive an 08 version, im nearly at 40k :D

  • don't sound too enthusiastic!!!

  • I could have better mpg for the size of the car...

  • hahaha... "decent back seat" and "pretty"... this guy should take his sunglasses off.

  • God, it's cheap in the U.S! around 30000 $? Here in Spain, this car is 45650 euros "as is", without any options; in dollars, 57970! You lucky americans... :-P

  • why lucky ameircans?

they have no tax system like we european do.

they are one of the poorest countries of the world.

accept nobodie want to hear that, it's only well for the people that earn certain amunt of money. Healthcare someone? you simply die in USA if you don't ..

we european have a social system and support the one that are unbeabled to work, whatever reason.

our roads are better, our highways have no aquaplanning problems.

try to speed on the concrete road and see how to slide.

  • @naturalyshocked wat are you fucking retarded learn how to speak engilsh the proper way.. god damn im so sick of you european fucks thinking you better than every one else why dont you go learn some fucking gramma you fuckin idiot> and if you have never lived in the US then you dont know shit about it

  • @Lup420 You mentioned grammar. Have a look at your own post:

You misspelled your attempt at 'what' and you didn't give it a capital letter. There should also be a capital letter on 'english' and one full stop after 'way', not two. Your attempt at 'god' should also have a capital 'G' and so should the 'I' in 'im' which should also have an apostrophe, as should 'dont'. You forgot the 'r' on 'gramma' ironically, I don't know what '>' is supposed to mean and you forgot a full stop at the end.

  • @naturalyshocked Bitch spain is one the poorest country in Europe trust me

  • @danielsyoutin

So are 5 star hotels but people who can afford them see the value in it where others cannot. No one has said that everyone must buy a luxury car. It's not meant for everyone.

  • Billetede200:

I own a 2002 M3 (K&N intake) with 6sp manual. I got into it with a bone stock, new 135i from a standstill and he stayed with me the whole way bumper to bumper. That car hauls!!

However, BMW has had a lot of fuel pump failures on the new 135-335i -series so be aware of that.

I've driven a new V-6 Camaro and compared to my M3 it was huge and FAT feeling, with terrible blind spots. I'm sure the SS model would feel much quicker on its feet because of the high output V-8

  • im going to buy a car... but im between the Camaro SS and this one.... any opinions?

  • I just got a 135i and my shop has an SS Camaro with a Bully Dog ecu flash (not sure if it's officially available yet). The Camaro is an absolute beast in a straight line. The Brembos are really good, but the car feels clunky and heavy and the visibility does suck. The interior pales in comparison to the BMW, though. The Camaro seats are no match for the sport seats in the BMW. It is definitely more of a muscle car than a sports car. I say go for the 135i.

  • Thanks... but i bought an 2009 used black cayman S with 15,000 km (i dont know how many miles is that) its pretty fun to handle and fast for a stock 6 cilinder i love it :D thanks for the info

  • chris bangle designed the 2009 135i? i know he designed the 2004 3 series, and the 1 series was inspired by the 04 3 series. but i didnt know chris bangle was still around

  • 135i is a great car and has everything you would expect from a sports coupe. I guess the only reason you wouldn't wanna get it is because of the limited room.

  • I'm really against Mercs, Bimmers and Audis because they're so common and boring. There are more Mercs and Bimmers where I live than Fords or VWs! However, this one kinda makes me lean towards the Bimmer out of the three. That's a significant car.

  • The 135i is a 335i for people who live in big cities with traffic and no parking.

    That definitely applies to me.

    Where do I sign?

  • Buy it! It is such a nible and fast car (much more nible then the 335i). And! a lot chaeper too. Tune it up, and you have an absolute rocket car. This is such a good little car, everybody who has been driven one, would agree with that.

  • @petervr09 Totally agree, and just wait until the real M version comes out, it'll be crazzzy. This is a very overlooked car IMO.

  • @petervr09 Lies!! 335i coupe handles even better!

  • It all depends on what you are going to do with the car. If all you want is function you may as buy an AMC Eagle Station Wagon. But who want to do that anyways?

  • I envy your ability to buy one so young.

  • search around u can probably get a damaged one for like 15,000 off i saw one for 30,000

it had hail damage but its only a couple thousand to fix it

well its ur money do wat u want :)

  • i bet ur snatch smells like full blown shit!!!

  • overpriced, fugly.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself, If it wasn't for the engine, this would have been a really bad joke.

  • no it's not.

it's vw (golf, eos), opel astra, audi a3, etc, etc. competitor.

    people want smal fast cars.

in europe parking spots are tight.

it's 'premium' class car, not a mas product.

    like a civic or something

  • º_º

the materials on the interior are way better than any japanese car.

it obiviously gets les produced than a 2.0 or 1.6 engine.

the cost of this car to produce it is about 65 - 75% of retail value.

according to economic news, premium class producers make about 30-40% benefit.

  • ferrari makes 40% benefit on their cars.

    porsche also.

i think here is smaller benefit margin, because it's not a limited super deluxe car

  • naturalyshocked, yeap, for Ferrari you are paying to driver around in their name : P

  • why their name?

    it's not an pushrod engine.

    it doesn't have leaf springs.

    it doesn't have stir axles.

it has multilink suspention or atleast independ suspention on all 4 wheels on all models ever produced.

all model have a body made of aluminium.

carbon fiber chassis, steel tubolar chassis.

it's brand that makes it's money from building racing cars their whole life.

    and nothing about racing cars.

  • naturalyshocked, you could say the same thing about the Miata:

    it's not an pushrod engine.

    it doesn't have leaf springs.

    it doesn't have stir axles.

it has multilink suspention or atleast independ suspention on all 4 wheels on all models ever produced.

  • nah, japanese still haven't learned how to apply exclusive materials on the dash board.

    like mercedes, VAG, bmw does

you can't compare german cars with japanese.

they are not in the same league, regarding quality.

  • naturalyshocked, i hope you are being sarcastic. That stuff on the dash is just window-dressing / bling.

  • wel, i gues, you haven't seen or touched a dashboard of a audi, vw, bwm or mercedes.

    that's what you pay for.

it's a pleasure to see the blue cockpit of my golf.

it's a neon gas type light.

and it's not a tube or led.

audi, seat and skoda have the type, but other cooler, it's a realy cool effect.

i rather pay a litle more, but have a interior that rocks and give garanty for a good resel value.

  • vw's have terrible resale value not to mention cooling and electrical problems. the only thing vag can make decently is a tdi engine, look at the w8 and w12 constant problems. I've driven a vw polo and its a very basic car and its had the whole aircon system replaced, check engine lights always on, and the clutch was replaced all before 100k miles! wtf?! I can tell you my sister's 1994 corolla feels more like a mercedes than the 2002 vw polo.

  • i had a vw gold mark IV and none problems @ at all.

i have heard vr6 engines do more than 300.000km.

my friends 1900 tdi from '94 run still sweet.

in my town there is vw satana 5 cyl from the late 80'tes a perfec car.

the 4.2 v8 in a friends A8 has already more than 200.000 on the clock with prolems.

my newpfews vr5 2300, no problems.

if there is a production failure, discus it with them, and if you can't drive don't blame VW, a clutch should never be replaced.

  • I had a Nissan primera e-gt with 225,000 km (sold) and a volvo 740GLE that had 258,000 km(sold) we had a bunch of toyotas and lexus', corolla has 300,00km, lexus es300 has 276,000km, and a toyota previa and it drove fine until 370,000km. Peugeot 405 with 500,000 km and a peugeot 605 with 400,000km. So... almost any car can make it to 300,000km. The vw polo was not mine and i agree with you on the clutch, it should never be replaced, if it was then you can't drive :)

  • tambien personas tener las carreras para sus automoviles y los embragues son usando rapido.

  • shut up. speak english.

  • wel, i do lots of km and never change brake pad and clutches.

i develop a special style, my mom teached me.

my parents owned a cab company and i also drove taxi.

i normaly drive realy fast, i usually step on the gas where other people brake 'corners'.

but i can also drive relaxed and halt @ a traffic light without using the brakes.

don't blame a brand if your vihicle did come bad.

my mother always said, such vihicles are build on monday morning.

but most people are just always hektik drivers

  • lol a golf, you're such a wannabe,i bet you feel because you bought a pos cheapo golf with AWFUL reliability you now feel like youre part of the "euro" crowd, and feel on par with people driving M3s and AMGs

Wake up tool,I've sat in,driven and owned cars from all over the world, and the ONLY reason say,an M3's interior feels nicer than say,a Mustang,is because it costs MORE THAN DOUBLE,not because the nice germans like to make you feel better with fancy materials out their pockets.

  • dude, european cars are not like the one build in mexico or what ever.

our european engines don't brake down like i read everywhere.

i have never heard anyone complain about reliability here.

the part you know are the cars build in united stats and mexico itself.

MADE IN USA, so give you own people credit for unreliable shit, because they build it.

  • LOL "exclusive materials"

    dude you are fuckin' dumb,seriously

  • dude, the world world knows american cars don't sell because they are rebadged daewee, like the corvette.

they have no knowledge about suspentions, if it wasn't for their european divisions, ford and opel.

detroit would have been broke several decades ago.

and yes, european cars have better materials applied in their dashboard.

take a inside view from a latest corvette and a 3 series bmw.

i'm sure pretty much 99% of the world would choose a bmw.

  • hmmmm the Corvette and Daewoo have nothing to do with each other(proving you have no clue what you're talking about),and anyone looking for a faster, better looking car, would choose the Corvette over a 3 series EASY.I personally like both, and you're a complete retard, fag.

  • And yet they're still slower than Corvettes and GTRs.Too bad all the stupid shit you mentioned didn't help them go fast as much as it helped you get a wet dream over something you can never own.Douche

  • you're a idiot, a corvette a the worst piece of shit on the world.

that's real cheap plastic and a almost 90 year old engine design.

the corvette and the mustang is the biggest crap on the globe.

detroit almost died if it wasn't for the government.

  • To: naturalyshocked: You are TRULY ignorant. First of all, as an American I am NO defender of American cars . I am currently on my THIRD BMW because I like a DRIVERS CAR, NOT a car that is simply "TRANSPORTATION" Also, perhaps you can enlighten me regarding the fine Automobiles produced by YOUR country Spain. I have been to Spain (twice) have you EVER been to the US ?

  • i'm not from span, just live here

    : )

  • @naturalyshocked fucking immigrant go back to your home country I bet you from eastern Europe or turkey anyway go Fuck your Dad

  • On the contrary, the premium market is where the highest profits are made, through obnoxious charges for options, materials and "snob factor".

Why do you think toyota/nissan/honda made lexus/infiniti/acura? So they could make LESS money per car?

LOL fucking idiot, keep drinking the kool-aid

  • dude it's very simple, take the numbers a company publishes once a years and devide between the amount of cars sold.

    you'll see a number between 300 and 600 us$ profit per car.

    it's very litle.

besides here in europe, lexus is still a toyota, with the same quality, it doesn't sell.

  • LOL thats hilarious, you just figured out automotive economy on your own!! Now I know I wasted my time here,go argue with your other buddies in the grade9

  • dude, lexus doesn't sell here come and see for yourelf.

idiot, ignorant american shit, that's why your country sucks so much and has deep financial trouble, so much that even the kids of your kids and their kids are still paying for what bush and co caused..

    greedy people.

you hardly see any japanese cars here and it's bare thruth, they nly make that amount of benefit per car as competition is tough.

  • Oh I'm not from the USA,nor do I live there,I do live in America(the continent),but you're probably too fuckin dumb to understand that concept.BTW try and learn how to speak english before attempting to have a discussion you eurotrash piece of shit.

  • @naturalyshocked ¿lexus doesn't sell cars in spain? I'm sorry, mate. I'm a spaniard, i live here, and they're selling a lot of IS. Yes, it is the diesel version, but you also can see a lot of rx, the suv hybrid. I own a gs, and prior to that i had an IS, the old one. For not to mention the huge amount of toyotas and hondas everywhere. Please, in your holydays do a trip around Spain, prefferably in car, and then we speak. Take care. Bye!

  • a piece of garbage golf does not compare with this car, stop being an elitist wannabe."In europe",not all BMWs are "premium",they sell cheap, plasticky, underpowered shit just like everyone else does, they then brainwash retards like you stateside into thinking everything out of germany is "high class"

  • dude a car of every wallet.

where are real people, unlike americans where the separation of poor and rich is huge.

where people eat a sandwich less to have a fat car in the driveway.

most models have atleast 6 engines choices, america has only 1 or 2, you can either afford it or not.

beside our tax system is different and some states charge you on power, other charge you on weight, other on both.

that's why these other models exist.

and for the companies that like to lease.

  • how does that drivel you typed relate to my argument that not every machine made in europe is premium? you got no point and you just vomit nonsense to make yourself feel better,i actually doubt you have a car,or are older than 16.

  • why are american so fake people?

it's still a premium car, but with a smaller engine.

some are just leased by companies are biznis cars, like a construction foremen, a supermarket superintendent, a road inspection engineer or whatever.

every BMW is more expensive than their counterpart of VW.

    i recently investigated this.

    so every bmw is premium.

  • The hilarious thing is I'm actually about to purchase either a 135i or an Audi S4,and here you are arguing me over their quality as if I was bashing them somehow.Nearly all companies make quality vehicles these days, only douchebags who feel the need to belong defend something as inane as a CARMAKER like its part of your family or something.

  • "short chasis 3 series with a PRETTIER BODY"?

better looking than 335...? who are you....

  • I sort of agree... even though I really prefer the 135i

  • The new curvy lines make it look too organic and artsy! Although the front looks great, it no longer looks lean and mean. It looks wimpy now...like a car for girls. Great performance, but the styling is not true to the sharp "chiseled" BMW's.

  • I would have picked this one up if it was a hatch.

  • want a convertible one so bad. love that new direct inj. twin turbo i6

  • to bad its so expensive. Wish BMW would take some risks.

  • well no is not expensive at all

its the same price as 370Z.

  • theyre both overpriced

  • i really hope this becomes sick tuner car

  • Long live Chris Bangle!!!

  • thank you!! finally someone that doesnt hate his styling themes

  • Yes Mr. Bangle's designs are beautiful! To bad he's not with BMW anymore.

  • Its actually ugly in the vid, but maybe it looks cool in flesh

  • Yeah vids and pics don't do this car justice. When you see one in person your like wow that is a sweet lookin car.

  • love it..i whant one so bad :(

  • It's an amazing car, my uncle took me for a ride in his

  • in the states?overpriced?you should see the price it gets in europe..

  • I have to agree -- the 1er looks better than the bloated 3-series.

  • 1er looks like the retarted vrother of the pretty 3 series... maybe it would look better if they made those front lights a bit smaller...

  • 2009 135i has nothing new but a new idrive system and heated steering wheel. there was two or more changes but i dont remember. overall, really not much change at all

  • 2009? what's new???

  • its good value...name me another luxury sports car that has 300hp and 300torque for about $35k

EVO is not luxury car...this 135i is basically a baby M3. Obviously not as good as M3, but remember M3 costs more than Double ...therefore it is good value

  • wow u really think the g37 will smoke the bmw your wrong. maybe more room and pehaps a few more bells and whistles. The g35 looked good but they went and fucked that up with the g37 i'll take the 135 any day. oh yea and even tho it cost more the g37 goes against the 3 series

  • it says its a monster you dumbass, take your overglorified nissan and shove it up your ass. bmw defines classy cars, not some rebadged piece of shit

  • Have fun in your Nissan then. BMW's are so wonderful to drive, and if you had driven one, you'd fall in love like I did.

My friend let me drive his 3-series on Mulholland Dr. in Hollywood and it's very curvy. It was fun. Lots of rich people there. You know what cars I saw the most? German cars. BMW were the most common of them and I understood why after getting out of the car.

  • the Infiniti has 1.more power 2. more toys. 3. Bigger better brakes. 4. Better suspension (wishbone vs struts) 5. Better steering (4 wheel active steering, first introduced in the porsche 928) 6. It doesnt understeer. 7. Has a limited slip diff.I like my cars to have the best setup 4 active n sporty driving, the BM simply doesnt.Rich ppl either drive expensive cars or british or italian.1 series is niether.

  • and yet most car reviewers don't care for it *shrug*

So that only tells me one thing about you: You're a blind fanboy who is misinformed.

    :/

  • type of suspension doesnt make a noticeable difference as long as each corner has independant control.

and 4 wheel active steering is not good for high speed driving, its nice for parrallel parking tho.

and srsly everyone needs to stop generalizing what the "rich" do with their money

  • my friend double wishbone allows full surface of the tire to be in contact with the road in turning allowing better handling vs struts, struts r cheaper n fixed u cant lower ur car or get bigger tires n when ur car's body rolls in a turn the tires will not have full contact of the road. Its well documented n proven, only reason they use struts in small cars that its simple n increases front leg room n comfort.

  • and 4 wheel active steering is meant to have better handling n turning in high speeds in twisty roads, chicanes n S turns on the track,in two wheel steering if u turn ur front wheels exesively or overcorrect in a turn at high speed u r done, its better to have the rear wheel steer aswell so u dont overturn the front wheels only at high speed.Porsche make their cars to go fast n handle well, not parallel park.its simple car A is better technically than car B,i'm blind to badges so i look past them.

  • You'd think a company that advertises its cars as the ultimate driving machine would have a sportier, tighter handling. This BM doesnt, its technically not properly setup n u can see every reviewer say that, its a nightmare in the corners, n wait till u see ur tires afterwards, they'll be worn off unevenly! wats the point of a small fast car that doesnt handle good?

You are not getting the best driving experience!

  • Dude shut up already, why waste your time arguing about shit you cant dream of affording? We all know you live with your mother and take the schoolbus everyday.Like all other internet faggots who love to quote technical shit they read on forums and magazines, you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

  • the infiniti has all of that but yet, the bmw still kicks infiniti's ass at everythinggg

  • haha true!! the Infiniti has its strong points, but it will NEVER be a BMW

  • Never know, they have been doing pretty good lately, but I see your point

  • and with only a tune that beemer will destroy that infiniti

  • would a tune change the suspension too, didnt know they did that. struts r simple, cheap, space saver more for comfort not handling, try to follow this time, this is what hes saying its tuned for comfort not sporty handling thats what iam saying technically. Struts r never a good idea when you want an ultimate driving experience like bmw advertise.thats false advertisement, yet retail sucker just lap it up coz of the badge. By the way a mercedes C 300 Sport sedan is cheaper than this too.

  • Wow, what a lame ass compariso.First off, the c300 sport sedan has 228 hp and would get absolutely demolished by the 135i. And I cant tell if your bashing its handling or not bc your english blows and you cant get out a coherent thought but, that 135i handles great. Ive been in a stock one and test drove one. The car is great in every respect except for the back seats, you cant fit anything in them but who gives a shit. Next time, know your facts before you bash a car and make awful comparisons.

  • try to follow this time, struts vs double wishbone,if u've been near a car or know anything technical u'd knw which one is better performing, its simple,& every car review agrees with that as it holds technically. unless u push a car or take it to a test track u'd proaly not notice u'd actually like it as struts r geared 4 more comfort so amatuers love it.& if u can 'tune' a BM, u can also 'tune' a merc, its got a sports suspension,u wdnt know.again infiniti, merc c300>>>135

  • Ok, as far as technical goes, when you make a technical point, attempt so say it in english so people know what your saying bc the other comment didnt even make sense. As far as "tuning" I was only speaking of engine tuning in that comment, clearly not suspension. You are trying to argue a point that no one was even arguing to begin with. So dumb. And the that benz is 32995 i cant see how you can say its better than the 135i, especially for the money. Youre paying about 3000 less but losing 72hp

  • Hey friendlyuser1, Porsche uses struts and you seem to praise them. BMW's also seem to make fantastic SCCA race cars and rally cars. The E30 M3 won Super Touring Car and World Rally many times and it had struts. To me, you sound like a guy who reads a lot of car mags and remembers technical jargon but has no idea what it means. Remember, car journalists aren't racers or engineers. They are nitpicky geeks that complain about lack of cup holders or no back-up cam on a sub-compact.

  • @werdupuboyee Part1: Struts dont allow much vertical movement leading to sway, body roll, uneven tire contact with the road, uneven wear & positive camber leasding to understeer & more steering effort.Double wishbone allows negative camber control during turning & normal in str8 line. Its better as it allows more even contact of the tires with the road at all times. The Nissan GTR can corner harder, faster at higher speed than a 911 bcoz if has a double wish front susp.

  • @werdupuboyee Part2: Double wishbone gves higher camber control, grip, better handling in everyway.Dont b brand blind & live in denial, watch the review & see the understeer & poor handling.I've give u technical reasons, thats why japanese tuners like lower susp, fatter tires, negative camber.Ferarri F430 has double wishbone. This isnt the 90's Merc,Infiniti,Nissan,Corvette all have caught up with BMW n improved.Plz dont say a civic has struts so its better than a ferarri,ur examples r stupid.

  • Ur obviously smoking crack!! How does it have poor handling?? Last time I checked, Motortrend pulled .94g on the skidpad, and car and driver pulled .91g . . And in the edmunds test that compared 1 135i, 335i, and an E46 M3, the 135i did the best in the slalom!!!! Your just biased against BMW which is ok . . .

  • @werdupuboyee Part3: What pisses me off is the enormous number of complete idiots who r just brand suckers trying to justify a cheap, inferior piece of technology at a higher price. There is no justification, just say u like BMW's. On a technical front no one has mentioned a single point except me.Handling is about tires contact with the road, negative camber in turning,u need double wishbone to get better camber control, lower rider hieght, flatter cornering high speed turning.

  • @werdupuboyee Part4: I mentioned the 4 wheel active steering was used in a Porsche,I was talking abt the 928,the best Porsche ever made. Every serious race car has a more expensive double wishbone setup as opposed to a struts, the double wishbone allow an immense number of possible modifications & alterations u cd do with some knowledge, thestruts r inferior, cheap, limited, mostly 4 small front wheel drive cars,& offer inferior handling.

  • @werdupuboyee Part5: A 911 is a very bad example. There's a very good reason a 911 can get away with a struts front suspension. I will let u figure it out based on what i just said.

i cant stand a 35grand car with a front suspension basically the same as a Civic. Ugly looks, & brakes that give out after hard driving, no matter what the badge on it.

  • ok, i dont know what you are smoking, the 135i is a great car. why dont you take you little civic and take it to the track against a 135i. then come and tell us if they still have the same suspension......

and my dad has a 928

  • shhhhht its bedtime for you.....

  • Quit quoting shit you learned on some geeks website, you dont sound smart, knowledgeable or like a racer. The whole world and your mother knows you coudnt drive any car hard to save your own life you stupid poser,i bet you dont even have a license

  • well the stock can do it. dont need to tune.
